Silence
Gotcha Number
It has been over a week and C and D barely spoke a word to each other. Their whole apartment became nothing but an awkward place where neither of them wanted to be which is why D spent most of her time in school and C buried herself in work and met up with Donghae who she got closer to.
Christmas was just around the corner and all of them made themselves busy. Kyuhyun was busy preparing for the KRY concert in Kobe while shooting Radio Star and Donghae went to a lot of meeting because of his upcoming film in addition to practicing a new performance for the year-end broadcast. Even though Donghae was not too pleased with the younger one, he tried to act civil around him so the other members wouldn’t question them. Kyuhyun wanted to apologize to Donghae but he always chickened out. Donghae has never been that mad at him before so seeing him like that, made him scared.
Donghae861015: when are you on break? Winter vacation I mean
C_89: on the 28th but I have to be back on the 2nd because some students want to study during vacation
Donghae861015: oh…but at least you’ll be free for New Year ^^
C_89: it’s New Year, everyone is on break~
Donghae861015: so…I just finished practice for my stage on Gayo Daejun, do you want to have coffee?
It was the end of the week and she didn’t have to go to work the next day. Since she definitely didn’t want to be at home when D got back, she agreed.
Kyuhyun was in Japan because of the 3-day KRY concert and he kept himself busy by just playing games to avoid questions from the 2 who are sort of figuring out that there was something between him and Donghae. He hasn’t talked to D because he didn’t want to talk to anyone especially her.
D however, kept trying to contact him to see if he was alright. She knew she was partly to blame for what happened so all she wanted to do is take to Kyu and see if they could come up of a way to get their friends back. Apparently, Kyu didn’t feel the same way.
While waiting for Donghae to arrive at the agreed upon place, C just played with her phone so that she wouldn’t look to awkward in the coffee shop that was a few blocks from SM. Donghae, who was wrapped in a thick jacket and a scarf with a matching beanie and black-rimmed glasses, walked in unnoticed by the people who were all around their 30s and 40s which is why none of them ran up to him or even glanced in his direction. He saw C and went straight to her.
DH (Donghae): have you been waiting long? 미안해요 (I’m sorry), my manager talked to me about something
C: 아니 괜찮아요 오빠 (no it’s okay oppa), I just got here too ^^
He took off his jacket and draped it over the back of his chair. C couldn’t stop looking at his perfect face. He may not have had perfect skin but she didn’t care, he looked so adorable with the beanie and the glasses which had no lens.
C: have you talked to 규현 오빠 (Kyuhyun oppa) yet?
DH: 아니 (no), I’m still mad that he invaded my privacy. He’s gone too far this time
C: but I thought you guys were all close
DH: yeah we are but we all made a rule that if someone goes out on a date, none of us would interfere. We all may be brothers but we all still have our privacy
C: I guess you’re right…same with me and my friend
DH: you and her are still fighting?
C: not really fighting, we just don’t talk….it’s hard since she’s practically my only friend here
DH: maybe you should forgive her
C: only if you will forgive 규 오빠 (Kyu oppa)
DH: you know what? Maybe we should. We’re all adults and we can’t keep grudges with our closest friends….and it is Christmas after all
C was a bit surprised. She was kinda stunned to hear that coming from a person who she has known to act like a 5-year old most of the time. Maybe this is the real Donghae, she was glad she finally met him.
C: Christmas? But I thought Koreans didn’t celebrate Christmas
DH: we do, just a little but we don’t treat it as a big holiday like other countries. We don’t really give gifts to each other, that’s mostly kids stuff
There was silence between them for a bit. Donghae suddenly held on to C’s hand. C’s hand became stiff. The sudden contact with her bias was enough to make her melt on the spot. She just stared at him as he gave her the sweetest smile.
DH: so how should we get our friends back?
C: it’s hard…because we still have our pride. We can’t just go up to them and tell them they’re forgiven
DH: good point, let’s just wait for a few days and maybe one of them will make the first move
D219: Kyuhyun?
GaemGyu: what do you want?
D219: oh wow. You actually replied this time
GaemGyu: just tell me what you want and stop wasting my time
D219: I think I have an idea to be their friends again
GaemGyu: the last idea you had caused us to becoming alienated by them, what makes you think I’ll want to listen to you?
D was annoyed but somehow she had to agree with him.
D219: maybe you should invite C to your concert
GaemGyu: in Kobe?
D219: do you have any other concert?
GaemGyu: and why would she even go all the way there? She hates me
D219: not if you give us VIP tickets
GaemGyu: what do you mean “us”?
D219: of course I have to come!
GaemGyu: don’t you have a boyfriend?
D219: he’s not my boyfriend! Get back to the subject!
GaemGyu: she hates the both of us and you want her to be separated from Donghae? Are you off your meds?
D219: she hates me. She never said she hates you. Go and invite her, no harm in trying
GaemGyu: I’ll have to ask my manager first. Tickets are sold out
D219: don’t forget mine!
GaemGyu: go away!
C sat in Donghae’s car. They were parked outside her building and they could see the light on in her apartment.
C: I guess D’s home
DH: well maybe since it’s almost 11
C: *sigh* I don’t want to see her now, I’ not ready to just forgive her
DH: thank god I moved out of the dorm….i don’t have to face Kyu every day
C: you moved out? Since when?
DH: the pictures I tweet often, those were all taken in my apartment...it’s been a while since I moved out but I still go to the dorm often
C: but why do you all still say you live on the 12th floor?
DH: to avoid questions….we all need some privacy sometimes
They sat in the car for another hour as they just warmed themselves up with the heater and talked a lot. C was still giddy because he was one of the reasons why she wanted to move to Korea and now that she’s getting to know him more as a person, she felt comfortable.
