Question 394
Suju Advice Columngerlim
Hello!
I will be 17 this year. It may sound a little unrealistic but I have dreamt of becoming a singer in the kpop industry since 5-6 years ago. I really really love singing and dancing and wish to perform like those idols and maybe take on a little bit of acting.
Many people would think that it's unrealistic and it's tough but regardless of that I still want to give it a shot. When I watch training practices online, I start to envy those idols who got to train and debut. Rather than thinking that the practices and trainings are hard, I instead want to be like them. I want to train hard and practice like them. And after that showcase whatever I've practiced.
The thing is, I'm not sure whether my family members will be supportive. My family members, especially my parents doesn't know that I have dream like this and I don't really know how to tell them about it. Moreover I'm not a Korean living in Korea. Going to Korea would mean leaving my family and I'm not sure whether they would approve that. But the thing is I don't really know how to tell them. Should I in the first place even hope to realise this dream? I feel like I would regret my whole life if I didn't. Please give me some advice! Thank you: )
Kibum: Even if your parents don't approve of your dream, you should still tell them. Maybe they could surprise you and support you in ways you didn't know.
Siwon: I agree Kibum. Especially if you feel like you will regret in your whole life. It's better to try for something you really want then to never try at all and spend the rest of your life wondering why you didn't just go for it.
Ryeowook: I think it's amazing that you want to become an idol and are willing to work super hard for it!
Sungmin: And now, there are plenty of idols debuting who aren't Korean at all, like Alex, the newest member of Raina. There's oppurtunity, you just got to try your best! We believe in you!
Kibum: We wish you good luck!
Everyone: Fighting!
