Before when Key and Jonghyun was still dating, they had already adopted Taemin as their son. Both of them had moved out and were living with Taemin, they wanted to have a little family of their own even if they weren’t blood related. Taemin was at school when Key met the two people that will eventually help him in the future. Key had just finished shopping for his weekly groceries and was heading back to the car. He placed the food in the trunk and went to unlock the door and sat in the driver side. He the engine and was about to drive when he heard some sounds in the back seat. Before he could turn around, a gun was pressed to his temple and a voice was beside his ear.

                “If you don’t want to die, I suggest you do exactly as I say. Take us back to your house and make sure to drive carefully. I don’t want to be pulled over and have to kill you along with the cops” Key slowly nodded and started the car, he was careful to drive at the speed limit and signal at every turn. After 10 minutes, they reached his house and it was quite quiet since everyone was at work right now except for a few housewives and himself. Key turned off the engine when he heard a yell of pain, his instinct caused him to turn around and his eyes widened. Sitting in the backseat another boy not much older than he was and lying beside him was another boy, but he was bloody and his face was covered in sweat.

                “Oh my god! Quickly get him into the house!” Key’s maternal instincts must have been when he saw the injured boy in the backseat. The other boy was looking at Key weirdly but gently picked up the older and carried him into the house. When they got into the house, Key ordered the injured boy to be placed on the couch while he went get the first aid kit. It took Key a good minute to get rid of all the clothes and he gasped at how many wounds there were. There was only one deep wound but all the others were just minor cuts and scrapes.

                “I don’t know why you are helping us even after I pointed a gun to your head but thank you” Key waved it away.

                “I can’t let him die and I could tell that he means a lot to you, much more than a friend and I could tell that he’s not your brother” the boy nodded and looked at the unconscious boy with loving eyes.

                “My name is Jaejoong and he is Yunho, my husband. I hope I don’t make you regret helping us but we are part of the mafia, my husband is the head of the biggest mafia in Korea and I’m his wife. We were ambushed on the way home and all of our bodyguards were killed. It was out of desperation that I did what I did in the car. I hope you forgive me” Key nodded and looked at the both of them. They looked to be around the same age was he was and they were already shouldering such great responsibilities. Suddenly the phone rang and Key went to grab it, he answered and it was Taemin. He was going to sleep over at Kai’s tonight and Key was glad, he didn’t want Taemin to see the scene at home right now.

                “I’m going to grab the groceries from the car, just stay here and rest for a bit” Jaejoong nodded and sat down beside Yunho’s body, gently his cheek. When Key had brought the groceries into the house, Yunho had just woken up and was looking around frantically. Jaejoong was trying to prevent him from moving, in risk of opening the wounds again.

                “Yunnie! Thank god, you scared me so much. Don’t you ever dare do that again!” Jaejoong hugged Yunho tightly and Key saw him visibly relax in his embrace.

                “Joongie, where are we? Is the person trustworthy?” Jaejoong nodded and he smiled at Key who had appeared in the living room.

                “My name is Key and your wife went through quite a lot of bring you to our house. Are you hungry? He told me that you are part of the mafia so don’t worry about scaring me” Key smiled at him and Yunho was about to lie down again when the front door suddenly opened and Jaejoong’s hand immediately went to his gun.

                “Yeobo? I’m home! My boss let me home early so I can treat you very nicely toni-“ Jonghyun stopped in his tracks, it was not every day that you get a gun pointed at your face as a welcome home greeting.

                “He’s my husband! He’s as harmless as a puppy!” Key quickly ran over and shielded Jonghyun with his body. Jaejoong slowly lowered his gun and gradually calmed down.

                “Yeobo, who are these people? Why is there a bloody person on our couch!?” Jonghyun whispered as he eyed the gun on the couch.

                “They are nice people! I just found them in the parking lot and the guy was bleeding! I couldn’t just let him die in the parking lot” Key decided to leave out the part where a gun was held to his head, he didn’t want Jonghyun to freak out even more.

                “Besides, our baby went for a sleepover so he wouldn’t be scared by them” Key went to the kitchen to put the groceries away and left Jonghyun in the living room when the two other people.

                “Uhh... hi, my name’s Jonghyun and I’m Key’s boyfriend. Sorry about before, I was just not used to having a gun pointed at me right when I walk through the door. So what happened to your friend? Mafia attacked him?” Jonghyun was just joking.

                “We are the mafia, but we were ambushed and if it wasn’t for your wife, I would be dead by now” Yunho finally spoke up and he chuckle a little as he saw Jonghyun’s eyes widen even more.

                “Wow...umm...that’s an interesting job” Jonghyun stutters out as he tried to imagine how many people they have killed.

                “Don’t worry, since your wife helped us, we won’t harm you two and in face will owe you two a favour. Here’s my number and call us if you ever run into any trouble” Jonghyun looked at the card in his hand, consisting of their phone numbers and email address. He pocketed the card and hoped that the only times they would ever call would be to hang out and not for any type of trouble.

                “I’m making dinner right now so why don’t you two stay for the night? I don’t think your husband is well enough to be walk anywhere anyways” Key’s head appeared from the kitchen and they nodded their head, it’s been a while since they’ve head home cooked food. Over the dinner table, Key found out that Jaejoong was 21 and Yunho was 23, making them their hyungs. They became pretty close and Jaejoong gave Key some tips on how to control your husband/boyfriend when you need to in your favour. Key blushed even more when Jaejoong said he will give him the name of his favourite adult store and tell them that Jaejoong referred him here and they will receive some ‘special treatment’. Jonghyun’s hand was around Key’s waist and he lightly pinched his side, making Key jump. Yunho laughed at the scene and told Jonghyun to take care of Key and keep him by his side.

“Finding someone you love is hard is keeping them by your side is even harder” as Yunho pulled Jaejoong close and gently pecked his lips. Suddenly Jaejoong got up and ran to the washroom, Yunho wanted to run after him but given his wounds, it would be better for him to stay seated so Key went after Jaejoong and checked to see if he was all right.

“Jaejoong hyung? Are you okay?” Key knelt down and slowly rubbed his back, he hoped that it was not his cooking that caused him to puke.

“I’m okay, it’s been like this for a few days now and I’ve been meaning to get the results from the doctor but things like today happened to I always have to reschedule” Key looked at Jaejoong with an incredulous look on his face, it was as if attempted assassination on them are normal things in their lives.

“Did you tell Yunho hyung about this? I think he’s pretty worried about you” Key helped Jaejoong stand up and led him to the sink.

“I’ve been wanting to but I didn’t want him to get worried. Work has been bothering him and I don’t want him to add me to his worry list. Please don’t say anything” Key thought about it for a few seconds but nodded his head; he knew that if he was in Jaejoong’s place, he wouldn’t want to add to Jonghyun’s worries.

“Joongie! Are you okay? Are you feeling unwell anywhere?” Yunho was fussing over Jaejoong’s body, trying to inspect him for any wounds or bruises.

“It’s nothing yunnie, I think it was just an upset stomach. I must’ve eaten something weird at the restaurant yesterday and it only hit me now” Jaejoong tried to laugh it off and gave Key a worried look.

“I’m sure it’s nothing Yunho hyung. Sometimes Key would eat too much sugar and end up throwing up since he wouldn’t listen to me” Jonghyun laughed which resulted to an elbow to the ribs. Jaejoong and Yunho looked at the two before them; they reminded them of their younger selves a lot.

“So Key, I heard that you had a baby. How come I don’t see him here today?” Jaejoong remembered Key talking about someone named Taemin and was actually curious to who he was.

“Oh, he’s just someone that I decided to adopt. His parents abandoned him when he was only 12, poor thing. He went over to his friend’s house for a sleep over but I can show you some pictures of him” Key quickly ran to the living room and grabbed his precious family picture album.

“Just remember hyung, you asked for it. Don’t beg me to stop him when he goes on and on and on” Jonghyun sighed, it’s not that he didn’t love Taemin but whenever someone comes over and ask about Taemin, Key would always bring out the album. It’s been probably over 10 times that he’s heard the stories.

“Look! This is my baby, Taeminnie! He’s 16 this year but he still acts like a little kid, it makes you love him even more” Jaejoong couldn’t help but laugh at how Key was gushing over his Taeminnie.

“So it’s been four years since his parents left him? Is he adjusting well?” Key and Jonghyun fell quiet; they could remember it was if it was yesterday.

“He wouldn’t talk to anyone or go anywhere for the longest time, it took us quite a while to get him to start talking again. I love him as he was my own so he always calls me umma and my boyfriend his appa and I guess it kind of stuck” Jaejoong smiled and he looked at Yunho, he wonders whether he would want a child of their own. After almost an hour about Key talking about Taemin, Jonghyun had already finished cleaning up the kitchen and the table and was finding blankets and pillows for Jaejoong and Yunho. Little did Key and Jonghyun know that they would leave in the middle of the night, leaving behind some money and a thank you card.

“Yunnie, how would you feel about raising a baby?” Jaejoong had kept a secret to himself, until now.
