Chapter Sixty One

Misunderstood, The

Jongdae excused himself from the hallway, opting to wait outside of the immensely decorated hall until the commencement of the wedding. He didn't want to see the face of Lyn's mother floating around to all of the guest, welcoming them, or have to be faced with the hard stare of her father once the man notices him. Jongdae knew he shouldn't be there, that he was the least likeliest guest to be invited to a  prestigious wedding, a client's wedding, especially considering what he serviced in.   But he had to come, it's what Lyn wanted. She had sent a message via the front desk for him, reminding him that her wedding was the next day and she would really appreciate it if he made it.   Taking a deep breath of the outside air, he ran his fingers down his tired face. The ever present quirk of his lips was still there, fooling the passerby's into thinking he was smiling at them. It was an opportune time to use his mask he had years to perfect. Though he hadn't feigned his happiness in a few months, he found that the gesture still came easy to him. For that fact he was glad. The last thing he needed was for Lyn to see him in all his bitter and jealous glory on her special day.   He fit the look of an esteemed gentlemen. His defined jaw line, round open eyes laced with lengthy eyelashes, straight lined nose, and slimline pouted lips with the imperfect quirk attached, caught more than the necessary attention. He was dressed the part in Agit's expensive garb, shining shoes, and glittering accessories.   There was something belonging about the way he carried himself. His confidence aided him in fitting in. No one could see through him at the moment and that is just what he wanted.   Now if only he could fool Lyn into thinking the same.   There was no doubt that she would see through him. No matter how big a smile he shown, no matter how many people he greeted, nor if he stood off in a dark corner. She would still see he was not himself.   She had eyes that knew the true appearance of Jongdae, and a mind that knew his very thoughts.   There was something opaque about the outside air. It was too dense, and too foggy. He needed fresh air, but even the cloudy scent of the oxygen made him feel light headed. He was definitely troubled with worry about the whole event he found himself attending. Nonetheless, everything still felt too foreboding to him. There were hints he was breathing in, but the clues were too reclusive. He couldn't piece them together nor did he try.   The bell had rung, signaling that the start of the wedding was underway. So his slim legs carried him back inside, and he found his seat somewhere near the middle. His eyes found the groom, dressed in a standard black tuxedo. He was handsome, perfect, rich, not Jongdae.   He wasn't Jongdae.     ~~~~~~~~~~     Jaejoong didn't understand why he was susceptible to Nana's beckoning call. It didn't make an ounce of sense to him. All he wanted was to be rid of the natural pull he felt when he saw her.   In all honesty, she didn't deserve him and he knew that.   She had always selfishly considered herself first not giving a second thought to what he might have been feeling at any given minute. If his opinion didn't matter so much within the business, he was sure Nana would never ask how he felt on a particular matter period.   She never inquired behind his health, what was going on in his life, his occasional plans that had nothing to do with Agit Night's affairs, or even what he had for breakfast.    She was completely, and utterly controlled by her selfishness.   Yet, Jaejoong knew all those things about Nana plus more. It really was his own fault that he got stepped on so much, so moping around really did him no good.   But as usual, he was still weak to her presence, though he didn't really let on to that in front of her too much. He could feel it though – that burn to touch her. It was always there, and it was present now as she sat in front of him, legs crossed daintily, and eyes fixated on a point somewhere on his face.   She had called this meeting so he refused to speak first. It made not an ounce of sense to him, all the jumbled thoughts that could run through a person's brain the way his were running through his brain. Yet, he was still attentive to every centimeter Nana moved. He picked up on everything though he was utterly distracted.   “You're nervous?” Were the first words to come out of . To say Jaejoong wasn't put off by her comfortable assumption would be a lie.   “Yes, I'm anxious. I have a lot to accomplish in little time and yet I still allotted some of it to speak with you at your request. So if you can kindly, get to the point,” he directed calmly.   She cleared , not quite expecting such a straight forward, impersonal reply. She wasn't used to being on the business end of his conversations. She found she didn't like it.   “Of course,” she cleared again. “I just wanted to discuss...us.”   Her eyes were stretched slightly, showing her own nervo

Chapter 29: Aaaw Lyn and Jongdae, I think they're "progressing" on becoming closer..
And the more further I get in this story, the more I realize/think Nana is so selfish and vain. She may be fare when it come to salaries, but at the end it's just all about her..
