JUEUN P.O.V.

 

I was shocked when I noticed Chaerae's action towards Kai. At first I thought that she had winked at Chanyeol but I was wrong. I realized this when Chanyeol turned away and moved to stand beside Baekhyun on the other side of their group. I also noticed Baekhyun eye Chanyeol closely. Chanyeol seemed to notice this and put on a fake smile. 

 

"So, Julie-ssi! Word is that you and Chaerae have known each other even in your pre-debut days. What was it like when you both got into SM?"

 

I snapped from my thoughts as Lee Sooyeon, our interviewer, spoke to me. I smiled and nodded to her and glanced at Chaerae. "Well, we became friends while at Song Academy and when we both got in it felt like a dream. She's like my sister so I'm happy we got this opprotunity." Everyone smiled and I looked to Chaerae as Kim Kyungmin, our second interviewer spoke. 

 

"And Chaerae, how was it for you? I heard that you had to break up with your boyfriend at the time. Who was he? Is it just a rumor." We all turned silent as Chaerae gave a sad smile. 

 

"I was happy to get into SM. It has always been a dream of mine. I did break up with my boyfriend at the time, but its all behind me now. I can't tell you who he was. I'm sorry." She spoke quickly and without much emotion. But I could see the pain fill her eyes as she scanned the area where Chanyeol just was. None of us had noticed him leave just before she answered. Even Kai hadn't noticed the pain in her eyes and the absence of the Happy Virus. The interviewers moved on to talk to Hyorin about what it was like being the leader but my focus was on Chaerae. The same fake smile that was on Chanyeols' face was on hers. After talking to each of us and us giving replies they cut off for a commercial break. I was grateful for the opportunity to talk to Barkhyun. 

 

"Bacon!" I jogged over to him and he smiled. Over time I had stayed in contact with Baekhyun. I was still very much attracted to him and he was also my insight in EXO. 

 

"Jueun!" He enveloped me in a hug to which I laughed. To be honest, we were kind of in a relationship. But because of our contracts we really couldn't do much at all. "You guys are seriously amazing. And you look so comfortable up there!" I punched his shoulder playfully and then turned serious. "Where did Chanyeol go? He was just here beside you and then he disappeared." 

 

Baekhyun's face fell and he bit his lip. "He left saying he didn't feel well. He'll be back in time." He seemed as worried as I was. I glanced over at Chaerae and Kai who were talking happily. But still there was pain her eyes. I saw her eyes look towards the door across from where she was. I followed her gaze to see Chanyeol walking in with one of the oennie's who worked on EXO's hair. His arm was wrapped around her waist and she was way closer than even Chaerae had been with him in public. Kai seemed to notice her stare and pulled her into his arms, shielding her eyes in his chest. I had to admit that Kai had really changed for Chaerae. He used to be so cold towards her. Now it seemed that he and Chanyeol had changed into each other. Chanyeol becoming cold and heartless, and Kai becoming the warmth comfort she needed. 

 

"He shouldn't be doing that to her Baekhyun. Can't you talk to him?" I turned away from everything and looked up at his eyeliner lined eyes. I pleaded with him and he sighed. 

 

"He already let go. And Chaerae has too. We can't do anything for them. Just leave Kai and Chaerae be. And leave Chanyeol to do as he pleases. We can't do anything. Don't worry." He hugged me and then kissed the top of my head. "It's out of our control." I frowned but nodded. We were called to return to the stage and we made our way back to our seats. I noticed that Chanyeol kept attached to the oennie and so did Chaeae. She sent him a pained look as if pleading for him to stop to which he just ignored. This was going to be a long interview. 

 

"So we noticed how close you are to the EXO members just now. Did any of you know them before debut?" The question seemed like a challenge to admit our real relationships. Somehow, they must have seen the way Chaerae, Kai, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, and I were towards each other. 

 

"Neh. We knew them before debut." Chaerae spoke as she looked at Chanyeol. His eyes met hers and they seemed to be fighting mentally. This was something I had never seen between the two of them. "But a lot has changed since then." She looked at Sooyeon and smiled. 

 

"Ah! How interesting! Lets get the boys out here to tell their story! Please welcome Exo!" Everyone clapped as the twelve came onto the stage. Baekhyun, Suho, Xiumin, Luhan, Sehun, and Kai took seats beside us. Kai sat next to Chaerae with Baekhyun next to him. Kris, Chanyeol, Tao, Lay, Chen, and D.O stood behind them. Chanyeol was right behind Kai with Kris beside him. It felt as though the tension filled the room. Only the five of us seemed to feel it. "Why don't you go ahead and introduce yourselves?" 

 

Chanyeol smiled to them and then the camera as they chorused "Neh!" "Hana, deul, set!" Chanyeol started, so similar to Chaerae. 

 

"We are One! We are EXO!" We all cheered, including a barely enthusiastic Chaerae. Her back was rigid with the close distance between her and Chanyeol. 

 

"So how about we talk about your pre-debut days? Chanyeol-ssi?" Kyungmin addressed Chanyeol and Chanyeol smiled. 

 

"Neh! Well, I met Chaerae-ah first. Through her I met Julie. Julie ha alway been in my class, but I rarely talked to anyone except Exo." He said her name a bit slowly as he spoke. I thought I saw Chaerae's hand tighten into a fist. Kai seemed to notice this. He spoke next, keeping his composure. 

 

"They became close friends of ours up until we had to leave for our debut. It's incredible seeing these two out on the stage as well." He smiled at Chaerae and I and I saw her relax slightly. 

 

"Ah!~ What about the other girls? Did any of you know them?" Sooyeon asked them to which Sehun replied. 

 

"I know Allany-ssi!" He spoke a bit excitedly but retained his "bad-boy" composure. We all looked at him and then to her. "We met at a bubble tea store. She used to go by every day. Though we never talked much." Everyone laughed at him and I saw Allany blush slightly. I smiled as the atmosphere lightened. 

 

"So, girls! Are you fans of your sunbaes?" Kyungmin asked us. Each of the girls shook their heads yes. But that's when Allany spoke up. 

 

"Neh! Chaerae oennie had been following them since debut! She pre-ordered their XOXO album and even voted for them every day. She's a huge fan of them! Her ringtone is even one of their new songs! Wanna hear it?" Chaerae's eyes widened for a split second before shaking her head and repeating "no". But everyone agreed that they wanted to hear it. I looked to our manager and she just gave a thumbs up. 

 

"I wonder who's part is your ringtone Chaerae-ssi!" Sooyeon teased. "He must be your bias!" Everyone laughed and Chaerae gave a small smile. Allany and Chaerae pulled out their phones. Allany grinned at Chaerae innocently as she dialed her number. After a second Chanyeol's voice filled the set. It was the same one she used as her alarm. Chanyeol had a look of surprise on his face while Kai's eyes widened and jealousy flashed in his eyes. 

 

"Ah! So it's Chanyeol then?" Kyungmin and she shook her head. "His voice is quite alluring!" Everyone laughed. Chanyeol just smiled his signature smile and shrugged his shoulders. 

 

"Ani! I just liked the lyrics in the verse of the song. I really don't have a bias... They're my friends. And it's been a long time since I've even been in contact with them until now. It's nice to reconnect after such a long time." She smiled and everyone agreed. 

 

The rest of the interview consisted of questions about or album and of EXO's and our upcoming events. We couldn't reveal too much so we just gave them riddled to solve. When everything was over Chaerae rushed out and Chanyeol followed her. Kai was busy talking to their manager that he didn't even notice. I looked for Baekhyun but he was also busy. It seemed that no one had noticed the two slipping away. Except for me.

Hello new subbies and welcome back existing subbies!~ another quick update for you guys! I know that the last chapter was quite a blow so I hope this makes up for it a bit!
