Please Don't Forget About Me
Unspoken WordsSeung Yeon’s POV
“It won’t be long. I’ll be back after 3 years. You will wait for me won’t you?”
I rubbed my arms against the night’s cold breeze. I let out a loud sigh. We’ve been through this issue a lot of times before. And we still can’t seem to come to an agreement.
“My words doesn’t count for anything right?”
Jin Ki stood in front of me, staring at me; his deep set eyes begging for my understanding.
“I hate this as much as you do. But I really have to do this. It’s my family wish.”
“What about mine then? Don’t you care about what I wish for?”
True. It might seem like I am the one being unreasonable here. But 3 years is a long period of time. I don’t believe in long distance relationships. Anything can happen during our time apart.
“You need to have faith in us Seung Yeon,” he said softly, as if reading my mind.
I dropped both of my hands to my side and thought about it for a moment.
“Alright. But you must promise me something.”
The corner of his lips curved up into a smile.
“Anything. What is it?”
“Promise me that when you return, nothing will change between us.”
He took both of my hands and gave them a gentle squeeze.
“Will never be broken.”
*****
After sending Jin Ki off at the airport, I drove myself home wanting to get some rest. Throughout the journey, my thoughts were filled of him; I’ve missed him already.
Being distracted, I didn’t notice the big truck that was driving close in front of me. By the time I realised it, it was already too late to do anything.
I shut my eyes closed; and the last thing that I saw on my mind was Jin Ki’s face.
