Oven mitts out. Baking materials laid out on the table in the dorm kitchenette. I took a deep breath. Let's hope that Taecyeon will actually like my little gift for him. If he doesn't... well... I'll just eat it myself... or I'll give it to Chansung.. He likes to eat right? Maybe I'm over-thinking this. Maybe Taecyeon's heart will waver a little after this... but.. ugh. I still feel like this is going to further complicate things.... Should I? Should I not? 

I looked at the materials laid out in front of me, still debating whether or not I should bake cupcakes for Taecyeon, but before I could make a final decision, my phone rang.

"Hello?" I answered my phone.

"Hey, wanna let me into your dorm?" Jay breathed into the phone 

"Yeah, sure." I sprinted towards the door and saw Jay standing there holding a shopping bag of frosting for the cupcakes that I promised I'd bake. 

As I slipped my phone into my pocket and pushed the door open for him he came in and shivered. 

"It's so cold outside," he whined. He handed me the bag. "Do you want me to help with the cupcakes?"

"Uhm... Can you help me eat them?"

He chuckled, "Tiff. You're supposed to be giving them to him. Stop cowering and take this leap. I guarantee you that he won't give you a negative response."

"Oh, really? You're so positive that Taecyeon won't hate me after this? So what will you do for me if he does?"

"If that happens, then I swear to you that I will be your human slave for the rest of my career as a student here."

I just glared at him, and he pinched my cheeks.

"You're too cute for Taecyeon to want to completely ignore you. He said it himself. He thinks you're cute."

I bit my nails as I blushed a little. The butterflies in my stomach suddenly came to life. They fluttered non-stop. I felt like something was tickling me from the inside, but all I could do was smile. Maybe Taecyeon will actually end up liking me. 

"So. Off you go." He gave me a little shove into the kitchenette. "I'll keep you company as you bake, okay?" I widened his eyes a little. 

"Yeah, yeah." I waved my hand at him, and started mixing the ingredients.

After putting the cupcakes in the oven, I grabbed my book and sat on the floor. Jay grabbed a canister of frosting and two spoons, and sat down next to me. I looked up at him and gave him a joking judgemental look.

"God, Jay. You're going to get fat." I sneered jokingly.

"Good. At least you're getting fat with me," he waved a spoonful of frosting in front of my face. 

I pushed the spoon away from me, "I'm trying to get in shape for swimming."

He scooped some of the frosting off the spoon with his finger and dabbed it on my cheek, then giggled like a little boy. Jay can be pretty cute sometimes... okay fine, all the time. "Live a little, Tiff."

I grabbed the spoon from him and ate the frosting. "If I gain weight, I'm blaming you."

His eyes turned into little half-moons as he smiled at me. "Are we going to have enough to frost the cupcakes?"

"Mmhmm." I hummed as I took another spoonful. "I'm only giving him seventeen. Don't judge me, but I actually planned this out. So.. you know how he's turning seventeen? That's reason one. But then I realized that I could also write "Happy Birthday Taec" on the cupcakes. Good idea, right?"

"It's cool." He said coolly as he ruffled my bangs.

My phone buzzed in my pocket. It was Taecyeon. 

"Hey"

I snorted unintentionally. Jay looked at me and asked me if I was okay. I nodded but I couldn't help but to feel incredibly embarrassed.

"Hey.. You thought I forgot your birthday, didn't you? :P kekeke Happy Birthday, Taec." I wrote back.

"Taecyeon texted you?" Jay peeked over my shoulder.

I put another spoonful in my mouth. "Mmmmm," I replied to Jay whilst eye-smiling.

My phone buzzed again almost immediately: "I'm glad you remembered. You're like the only one who remembered."

"hurrhurr. Well you know. I have a good memory ^-^"

"Hey, listen. My parents are coming over tonight to take me out for dinner and they want me to bring a few friends again. Care to join me?"

"Yeah. Totes. I'd love to."

"Good. Dress formally. We're going to a fancy restaurant."

"Who else is going?"

"You'll see."

"Err... okay.."

I looked at Jay. "Did you know that Taec was having a birthday party tonight?"

"Yeah. He told me that he was only inviting a few people and I didn't know if he was inviting you... so I didn't say anything.."

"Thanks for cluing me in, buddy..." I started.

"Tiff, I'm sorry. I just didn't want you to feel left out."

"It's fine. I don't actually care, Jay." I smiled a little to let him know that I was joking.

He smiled at me. "I can't really tell when you're joking sometimes. Do you know what you're going to wear, then?"

"I think I might just borrow something from Nicole. She's around my size and she has a lot of dresses that I could wear."

"Okay. Cool. Tonight's the night that you get the guy."

"Let's hope so, Jay, for your sake as my personal slave." I laughed evilly. 

He shifted his body towards me to bump me sideways. Then he stealthily put the frosting away and started tickling me. Before I could actually comprehend what was going on we were having a tickle fight on the floor of the kitchen. His torso was so firm and just as I thought about the possibility of abs existing beneath his shirt, his shirt lifted up, only to reveal a set of perfectly shaped chocolate abs. I pulled his shirt down to cover them as my face flushed red. He momentarily stopped tickling me to fix himself, then I realized that the back of my shirt was tucked into the clasp of my bra. I quickly fixed myself, hoping that he didn't see my momentary wardrobe malfunction.

"Cute bra," he subtly commented.

I cleared my throat. "Nice.. uh.. abs.."

"So you're one of those girls, huh?"

"What girl isn't?"

"True." he nodded.

Just then the oven made a sound indicating that the cupcakes were ready. Who knew Jay was such a flirt?
