It's been a couple of days after the beach trip with Emily and the guys. Vernon's words were still attached in my brain. "Did I spark anything inside of you?" What does he mean ? Why does he care? Why am I thinking about this? 
 

"(Y/N)! What're you thinking about!" Emily said running up to you. 
You didn't expect her to come up out of no where and got surprised. "Oh nothing." 
"Don't lie. Your expression says otherwise" 
"I'm just thinking about our beach trip the other day." 
"About Joshua and Vernon? And who's better?" Emily shamelessly blurts out.
"How could you just say that."
"Am I wrong?" she asks.
"No.." You admit
"They're both two different guys."
"How so?" You ask
"Well first of all. Vernon isn't a total tough guy, he's a softy, but compared to Joshua he's more manly." Emily says
"So Joshua is girl?"
"No you idiot. Joshua is a nice guy. Vernon is a nice guy but he's more on the tough side. Plays hard to get. He's had other girlfriends and he's mostly broken up with them." she explains.
"Ahh .."
"I noticed you three at the beach and it was pretty strange. Vernon seemed like he got jealous, and he never gets jealous."
"Really?" you said
"Yeah. He's usually the one to make others jealous."
"Why would he be jealous of me and Joshua? That's odd" you said
"From another girls point of view, I'm pretty sure he likes you. Joshua too."
You were surprised by what Emily just said. Vernon and Joshua? Like you? That isn't possible. Why would they? "Why would they? They can get any girl they want, why would they go for me?"
"I don't know. Try figuring that out yourself. I will give you some pointers though. Joshua is the nice shy guy. He's always cute and bubbly but when he wants something he'll do anything to get it. Vernon? Opposite. He'll play hard to get and mess around before he actually realizes he should try."  Emily explained.
"I see.." you said with a sigh.
"I wanted to tell you something."
"Hm?"
"It's my birthday tomorrow and I was going to host it at this nightclub wanna come?"
You were excited to hear that it was Emily's birthday but you didn't want to go to a nightclub.
"If it's at a nightclub not really."
"Come on. Why not. You should go at least once to see how everything is. Who knows, you might actually like it." Emily suggested
"Being me. I'm sure I won't."
"Dude come on. It's my birthday." she says with a pout.
"Fine." you said giving in. "Since the day I first met you I've done way too many crazy things. Wearing makeup and dressing up. Going to the beach. Almost dying, now going to a nightclub. This is all really weird." you admit
"It's called living life hun. Try it more often."
You laughed at Emily's comment. "I almost died a few days ago so I guess what you're saying is true."
"Alright, well Woozi is waiting for me at the library. We're gonna work on a project, see ya tomorrow." Emily skipped off but turned around all of the sudden. "OH YEAH! I'll text you the address. "
"Sounds good" You reply

After school you decided to go to the mall to find Emily a gift. You've met her less than a week ago and weren't sure what to buy. Did she like stuffed animals? Clothes? Jewelry? Shoes? While walking around you ran into Joshua. 
 

"(Y/N)! You shop here too?" Joshua said shocked. 
"Shouldn't I be asking you that? We're in a female clothing store." you joked.
"Ahh good point. It's Emily's birthday tomorrow, she told me that you were coming."
"Yeah. I don't like nightclubs but she pouted until I agreed to go." you admit
"That's Emily for you. Need help picking something out for her?" Joshua offered
"Yeah, I've known her for less than a week so I'm not sure what her style is."
"Hmm.. Good thing I'm here then. She likes Woozi first of all." You laughed at his joke.
"But she likes jewelry." he suggested.
"Alright thanks for the help. I'll see you later then?" you said
"How about we go together?"
"Aren't you busy? I wouldn't want to waste your time."
"I'd always have time for you." he said with a smile.
His joke caught you by surprise, but you never noticed Joshua's smile. His teeth were perfectly aligned and his deer like eyes gave you butterflies.

After buying Emily's birthday gift you and Joshua decided to go to the food court to get something to eat. You weren't in the mood for anything specific so Joshua offered to buy you ice cream. 
"What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?" Joshua asked.
"Hmm . I like vanilla. Pretty boring I know"
"I don't think it's boring. My favorite is vanilla too. Are you suggesting I'm boring then?" he said with a pout
"Of course not! I-I me-"
Joshua interrupted you "I know . I was just joking around." 

After buying your ice cream you guys walked around the mall and talked. While you guys were chatting about how you both lived in the states you were interrupted. 

"What're you guys doing here?" Vernon asked
"Oh, hey Vernon. Me and (y/n) were buying Emily's birthday present." Joshua said

Vernon was holding hands with another girl. She was tall, way taller than you. Her eyelashes were long, and he skin was porcelain smooth. Her body was a perfect S line. She looked exactly like someone that belonged in those fashion magazines you read. For some reason you felt upset looking at the two together. 

"Ahh I see. Oh guys. This is Lilly by the way." Vernon introduced
"Hi. I'm Lilly. Nice to meet you."
Even her voice was perfect
"I'm Joshua and this is (y/n)" Joshua said motioning to you.
"Is she your girlfriend?" Lilly blurted out.
Vernon stared at you two curious to what the answer would be.
"O-oh me?" you said.
Lilly nodded "Yeah, you and Joshua."
Joshua looked at you waiting for the answer "N-No we aren't dating." you replied.
"Ahh, I see. I was wondering what a handsome guy like him would do with you ."
Her words hit you. What was that supposed to mean? You thought to yourself.
"What do you mean by that?" Joshua said with a firmer tone.
"You're so handsome, but she's so.. Not to be rude (y/n) but ugly .." Lilly said hesitantly
"I-It's okay." you said hold your tears back tightly. You thought to yourself that you should be used to it by now, why are you crying?
"Well, we'll see you tomorrow at the party." Vernon said walking away with Lilly.
"I'll see you tomorrow thanks for the ice cream." you said with a muffled tone from your tears.

The next day at school was normal.  But Emily seemed to be what everyone was talking about, and apparently everyone at school was invited to her birthday. She is rich and popular so that's nothing unusual probably. While opening your locker Joshua came up and scared you. 
 

"BOO!" Joshua screamed. 
"AHH!" you said. You turned around to see that it was Joshua and gave him a slap. "I thought I was about to faint from a heart attack." 
"Sorry." Joshua said innocently. 
"Why're you here?" 
"About yesterday. I saw you crying but I was to nervous to say anything." he said 
"It was nothing. I wasn't even sure why I cried, I should be used to it by now." you admitted 
"Well you're human aren't you? Don't listen to what other say about your looks. I think you look perfect. Perfectly imperfect. Cheesy I know. But it's true." 
You were shocked with Joshua's words.You couldn't help but melt over his words. But you still hid your reaction. 
"Oh.. thanks. My grandparents say the same thing." you said 
"Me and your grandparents are smart people then. You should introduce me to them" he suggested
"Maybe one day." you said. "Why're you here? Is that all you came to say?"
"Ahh . No. Actually I was going to go buy some clothes to wear to Emily's birthday party.. and I wanted some help."
"So you want me to go?" you asked.
"Please?" Joshua said pouting. 
"Fine." 
"Alright to my automobile!" Joshua said acting like a little kid.

You guys went to a couple of different stores and finally found the perfect outfit. A simple clean white button up, black dress pants and shoes. Even while wearing a simple outfit he still looked perfect. When ever you guys walked to different stores the employees couldn't help and stare at him. 

"Okay, well now that I'm ready... IT'S YOUR TURN!" Joshua said.
"What? Noooo . I have plenty of clothes at home." you said.
"You dressed me up, now I get to dress you up!"
You didn't want to get dressed up because no matter what you wore, you were still ugly. "I don't want you wasting your money on me."
"What're you talking about "wasting"?"
"I'm ugly no matter. If I put on a 100000 dollar dress I'll still be ugly."
All of the sudden Joshua grabbed your shoulders and leaned in close.
"You're not ugly. Stop saying that, please? It hurts me when you say that because you're extremely perfect. Stop calling yourself that ok? Whenever you're with me the words,"I'm ugly" are banned. Alright!" Joshua said.
You couldn't help but choke up. There were so many things you could say but none of them were verbally spoken.
"SO, no more arguing! Let's go make you even more beautiful. Not because you need it, but because Vernon's "girlfriend" or whatever she is, is gonna be there so I wanna prove to her that you're absolutely gorgeous." 

Joshua dragged you to five different stores trying to find the perfect dress and shoes. After trying on about what seems to be the whole store you finally found the perfect one. It was a long maxi dress that was a pink blush color. The top was haltered, and flowed down to your feet. Almost like the one Emily gave you. 

"Wow, you're perfect" Joshua said after you stepped out of the dressing room.
"Thanks.." you blushed
"Here wear these shoes." hands you a pair of heels matching the color of your dress.
You put the shoes on and look in the mirror, everything was complete.
"Now onto makeup and hair." Joshua said dragging you out of the store and into his car

He drove you to a beauty salon where they curled your hair into soft subtle waves that draped behind one shoulder and over the other. Your makeup was very natural. Light pink lips, with simple eye makeup. After everything was over it was time to go to the nightclub. You guys drove over there. As you go closer to the club your heart beated faster and faster. What would Lilly think of you? Would you still be ugly? What would Vernon do? 

"We're here" Joshua said opening the car door.
"I'm nervous" you admitted
"You're probably the prettiest girl in the club. Don't think about Lilly ok? She's nothing compared to you. Have confidence."
 

Joshua held out his hand and you took it. You guys both walked into the club with all eyes on you. You could hear people gossiping left and right saying, "Who is she? She's so pretty." and, " Who are they? They look like a perfect pair."  You finally found the whole group. Everyone seemed to be so surprised to see you and Joshua walking in together holding hands. 

"WOOOAAAAHHH (Y/N)!" Dino said with his mouth wide open.
"Happy birthday Emily" you said
"Well don't you look like a total babe" Emily said.
It took you a few minutes to notice but Lilly and Vernon were both staring at you and Joshua.
You made eye contact with Vernon but quickly looked away. Joshua noticed your eyes and interrupted your thoughts.
"(y/n) dance with me?" Joshua said
"I don't know how to" you admitted shyly
Joshua leaned in and whispered, "Leave it all to me" 

He led you to the dance floor and started teaching you simple moves. Vernon was staring at you two the whole time hoping that you would notice him. But you were having too much fun, you didn't think of Vernon or Lilly. But instead only you and Joshua, and how happy you were. A slow song suddenly . Joshua grabbed both of your hands and put it around his neck. He tooks his hands and put it around your waist. Your heart beat went faster and your breathing became harder. 
 

*With Vernon and Lilly* 
 

"Wow did she dress up to only impress me?" Lilly said
Vernon didn't say anything and continued to stare at Joshua and you.
"Vernon?" Lilly said impatiently.
"Hm" he said sounding uninterested
"Why do you keep staring at those two? Do you like her or something?"
"Maybe I do .. " Vernon mumbled
"How do you like her? With all that makeup off she's just as ugly as a beast." Lilly rudely said "Plus.. I could give you anything you want" she said seductively while snaking her arms around Vernon's neck and down to his chest. Vernon took both of Lilly's arms off and left her in awe. He marched across the dance floor approaching you and Joshua 

*Wish Joshua and you*
 

"What's wrong Vernon?" Joshua asked. 
Vernon didn't say anything but grabbed your arm and dragged you off with him.
"Vernon what're you doing, let me go please." you said struggling to shake him off
You guys kept walking until Vernon stopped behind the nightclub where no one saw you.
"I said let me go!" you said yanking your arm away.
Vernon walked back and forth in frustration. You were getting anxious and nervous. Curious to what was going on in his mind.
"Listen, I'm sorry I didn't say anything to Lilly at the mall." Vernon admitted
"It's fine .." you lied
"Did you do all of this to get me jealous? Looking at dolled up in front of me, hand in hand with Joshua?" Vernon's words caught you off guard.
"What're you talking about Vernon? Why would I do it to get you jealous? You never liked me. Plus why do you care? You're with Lilly, you should watch what you're saying.." you said everything that came to mind. There wasn't a filter.
"W-What?" Vernon said stepping in closer, leading you to bump into a wall.
"I said it. Why do you care if I'm with Joshua? Or if I dress up? Or if I wanna feel confident and look good?" you blatantly admitted.
"Wow, look at how confident you got. Is it because you're with him now? Do you get those sparks that I was talking about at the beach? Does he give you those sparks?" Vernon said firmly.  
You've heard enough and turned to leave but he put his hand against the wall so you couldn't. You turned the other direction but then he put his other hand on the other wall. You looked at him straight in the eyes so confused with what his words meant. He started closing the distance between you two.
"Do you feel the sparks yet ?.."
You closed your eyes until all of the sudden you hear footsteps.
"Vernon, what're you doing?"
It was Joshua ..
