TWENTY FIVE
Defying Sehun
I entered the school hallways with a blank look on my face. I absolutely have no idea how to face Sehun now. As I looked straight, I caught a glimpse of their squad hanging around Suho’s locker while the es cling to their partners. I spotted Sehun and immediately bowed my head yet I could even feel his stares digging through me. Quickly, I sped off to Jijae who was standing by my locker.
“Goodmorning,” I greeted her and she smiled back in return.
“Here’s your pride and prejudice.” She said, handing me the book she borrowed. I let out a small smile when suddenly, her gaze averted somewhere behind me.
“Sehun’s clocking you.” She muttered and instinctively, my head twirled to see him. I don’t know why I did but the moment I did, I regretted it because Krystal noticed this and pulled Sehun to kiss him. My face flushed at the sight and I quickly turned to Jijae who was now scowling.
“Ugh, look at those idiots exchanging saliva.” I rolled my eyes, agreeing with her as if I didn’t exchanged saliva with one of those idiots. Suddenly, I felt sick knowing Sehun kissed me and now he was kissing another woman. It was disgusting and it made me feel dirty. I was about to pull Jijae to go when there was a sudden tap on my shoulder. I swirled my head to check who it was, only to find Jongin smiling. I even saw Sehun glaring at Krystal who was clinging very closely to him. Finally, gathering all my energy not to look at Sehun, I turned to Jongin completely.
“What?” I snapped and he raised both his hands. “Jeez, lady, not in the mood this early, eh?” He teased and I snorted.
“I just want to check up on you, to see if you’re still hungover.” Jijae’s eyes widened at his remark and vastly she turned to me.
“You went to a party again and got yourself drunk?” She nagged and this time, I was the one raising both my hands.
“I swear I was going to tell you but this dude suddenly appeared out of nowhere.” I said, pointing to Jongin, making he gaped at me.
“And now you’re blaming me for this?” He exclaimed as I rubbed my temples.
“Could you please bugger off?” I told him and he shrugged his shoulders.
“Before I do, I just want to apologize for not looking after you that night, I take full responsibility of it and I’m sorry.” Both Jijae and I raised a brow at Jongin’s statement. Was I dreaming? Was Jongin really apologizing?
“Uhhh.. yeah, sure.. okay.” I stammered, not knowing what to say at his sudden character change. “Hey, I’m being serious.” He whined like a little kid and I slightly scowled. “Fine, apology accepted, now, go.” I said, brushing him off. Jongin pouted at me. I heaved a breath.
“You’re forgiven,” I simply said and Jongin smiled before he took my hand and kissed it gently. “Thank you, mademoiselle.” He winked flirtatiously. My face scowled as Jijae tried her best to refrain herself from laughing at Jongin’s corny gesture. Seriously, there was no need for an act like that. Jongin was still holding my hand when an arm landed on his shoulder making the three of us turn to the tall built beside him.
Sehun has his usual stoic face as he stared at me with a completely unreadable expression. “Sehun, my brother!” Jongin exclaimed teasingly and Sehun only glanced at him before returning his gaze to me.
My heart pounded rapidly, remembering the shared kiss. I could feel my face flushing at the memory so I tugged Jijae’s uniform, insisting that we go when Sehun suddenly took my hand from Jongin’s, clasping it with his. Besides Sehun’s cold hand, I felt something being transferred in my hand and I furrowed my brows as I gripped it once his hand left mine. He then strode off like nothing happened making both Jongin and Jijae stupefied.
