Kyuhyun’s POV

Christmas is this Saturday. Sigh. With the preparations for Perfection, Super Junior-M hadn’t had time to buy presents for anyone. After my radio gig with SM the Ballad ended, I joined the rest of Super Junior who were with Zhou Mi and Henry. We headed down to MyeongDong to shop as a group. Shrills from fan girls were everywhere, but we managed to stay away from them, with the help of the mall guards and the storeowners. We walked into Perlini’s Silver and the hyungs dispersed to find something nice for their mothers. I, on the other hand was doing extra shopping. I was looking for a pair of earrings for my mother, and something for HyeoEun. Maybe a necklace would be nice.

I went to Heechul hyung and asked for his advice on matching jewelry for HyeoEun. I had no idea what would look nice for HyeoEun. “Oh yeah! Hey we should get something for HyeoEun too!” Heechul yelled. He then suggested to me that I could get a bracelet instead of rings, so it wouldn’t be so obvious to paparazzi. I found the perfect one.

I told the assistant to engrave “K•H” on the topside of the bracelet for HyeoEun. Unfortunately, she looked at me suspiciously before I said it was for my best friend. She walked off the bracelet and returned with it engraved.

For the rest of the afternoon, we dispersed so we could buy presents for each other. Buying presents for at least 15 people at one shot was not easy. Throughout our time in MyeongDong, 14 of us paid special heed to Donghae, who had one less person to shop for since 2006. The topic of shopping for our fathers became sensitive, but I think he was as affected by our trying to comfort him and ignoring the word “father,” as much as he was affected by his father’s death. He told us that he had other fathers as well and wanted to shop for them. We gave him a hug and continued shopping for our dads.
