Eight - The Cinderella
I Miss YouHow much she tried to act like nothing happened between them, and how much she tried to feel just fine after Jongin said she’s just his bestfriend, she just couldn’t do it. Jongin was clearly draw a line between them. If leaving early before the feeling got deeper would make everything normal, she really wanted to do it. But, once again, she just can’t leave Jongin alone.
No matter how hard she tried.
The melody sounds beautiful, and Ahyoung trapped in between the sounds, and someone who played the piano. Her footsteps stopped in front of the studio door where Jongin is. While looking at him through the glass door, she smiled, thinking what IF he could like her back?
Just a wild thought of Ahyoung.
Like a statue, she was just standing there until her phone rang. “Hello?”
“What are you doing here?” Jongin opened the door while talking on the line with Ahyoung, who’s right in front of him. But Ahyoung tried to run away from, even though it was useless. “Why are you avoiding me these days?” he grabbed her arms.
“Pardon?”
“Stupid, don’t avoid me!”
Even when he called her ‘stupid’, she likes it so much. While faking a smile, she tried to look at him directly, “I’m not avoiding you, I’m just quite busy.”
“Oh, really? You’re busy enough to watch me playing piano?”
“How… how did you know?”
Jongin smiled, “How could I not know? You’re standing in front of a glass door, Ahyoung-ah!”
The side of him made her weak, like she lose all of her strength just in a second of time. Ahyoung really likes Jongin to the stage where she would give anything to make Jongin happy even without her.
Naïve. Her love for him is naïve, but it’s true.
She gave him two thumbs up, “Great melody! You could be a famous pianist!”
“I hope so,” Jongin gave her a sweet smile once again while playing with her hair, “Thank you.”
“So, your dream is to be a pianist, not a swimmer?”
He shrugged, “I don’t even know. But if someone would accept my written song, I’d be glad.”
Dream. Passion. Love. Things that they have not found yet in their life. And to find those three, they have to learn many things from life, to learn sweet and bitter things of life itself.
“I believe in you, you’re the best of all!”
“Do you believe me that much? Do you think I’m really the best?”
She nodded, “Of course!”
If she said that, then, she really doesn’t know who’s Jongin. She doesn’t know what’s behind his bright career path, and she doesn’t know about his dark side life. “You really don’t know me then.”
“What?”
“Nothing.” He smiled. Someday, she would know everything, and she’ll miss the old Jongin, when she doesn’t know anything about him and about his dark side life. It’s just Miyoung who could resist him, at least until now. “By the way, don’t you know what day is it?”
“Thursday?”
Jongin messed with his hair then grabbed Ahyoung’s wrist, “Come with me.”
She didn’t ask anything on the way to the place, she just followed Jongin, to anywhere he would take her. The tingling feeling when Jongin held her hands was just more than enough for her, she really likes him.
“What are we doing here?”
“To buy birthday cake.” Jongin looked at her; puffing his cheeks, and she swears to God, he’s the cutest human alive! How could someone resist this guy? “More than half population in South Korea knows the nation’s boyfriend swimmer athlete’s birthday –except you!”
“Do… you… want me to celebrate it with you?”
“Of course! You’re the only one who have not congratulate me yet, Ahyoung-ah.” He brought the birthday cake that he, himself picked just now. Ahyoung helped him to put the candles and light it, “Even the 9 a.m. news congratulated me this morning, except you!”
Ahyoung smiled while looking at his childish behavior, “Just blow the candles, stupid!” When he closed his eyes and make a wish, she looked at him constantly, hoping that Jongin would say her name on his wish. Even if it’s ju
