Thirteen - The Honesty
I Miss YouShe’s still being left out by him even for the next few days. She felt useless as his ‘girlfriend’ because she doesn’t even know what kind of problem he and his friends is facing right now, and how to help them even just for a little bit. She was sure she is useless.
Even at school Jongin didn’t smile at her, like she’s nothing for him. Is he really going to dump her just like he said before? But Ahyoung’s still trying to think positively because Jongin’s in the middle of problem and he might need some times to be alone.
Even though she missed him so much.
“Get your mind together, Ahyoung.” Mark said as she bumped to him while walking soullessly. She’d been like that since Jongin didn’t even look at her, thinking about everything that almost made her brain explode.
“Principal’s son can ride skateboard in the hallways as they want, huh?” she tried to hide her gloomy face, but she obviously failed.
Mark held the skateboard with his left hand and held Ahyoung’s hand with the other hand, dragging her to the canteen. “Let’s eat.”
“I’m not going to eat,” she refused and just sat on the chair. “Where’s Miyoung?”
“I don’t know, she going with Jongin somewhere. She seemed to be busy these days.” Mark answered as he slurped the juice.
Ahyoung’s head went down as she heard the sentence, “Oh, I see…” they sure busy these days, and Ahyoung didn’t even know what happened.
“And Miyoung said that she’s going to be in the dorm for one week because she has to prepare the Olympics with the other athlete.”
“Also Jongin?”
Mark nodded, “That’s what she said to me. They’re going to be busier than now, I think. I will miss her so much.”
Miyoung and Mark are not even a lover but they’re already attached to each other, telling each other’s problem and trying to solve them together. But what made Ahyoung sad that she’s Jongin’s girlfriend and she doesn’t know anything about him. All about him was to gray for her; too difficult to reach. “I already miss Jongin so much.”
He’s sitting next to her, she could reach him if she wants to, and she could talk to him but she’s too afraid to be ignored by him. Ahyoung doesn’t want to be his cigarette that he only used when he had a bad day. And when he’s in this kind of state, at least she wanted to be someone who he could lean on; or just telling the story to light up his mind.
Walking a little bit further from a public space to smoke is better than having everyone inhales your selfishness, at least she hoped that was the reason why Jongin avoided her, because he doesn’t want Ahyoung to hurt. She hoped. But for Ahyoung, that was a way too high hope.
Love is not complicated. People are.
“Stop looking at Kim Jongin, Jung Ahyoung!” The teacher scolded her so she tried to hide her face in embarrassment.
Jongin then looking at her direction, feeling something strange on his heart while watching her. He then realized it’s been a week since he cut all the contact with her without any reason. It’s just his selfishness and he had to fix things up for her.
She tied up her hair in a ponytail so it wouldn’t disturb her eyes while writing. But it’s cute how she tied her hair in a messy way and it loosened up every time so she had to fix it often. While her cheeks are always blushed every time she looked at Jongin, and Jongin knew that. She knew that Ahyoung was looking at him for all this time, and he found it cute – and guilty.
“Can we talk?” Jongin approached and made Ahyoung shocked; almost couldn’t believe that finally he talked to him.
With a panic face, she tried to answer as calm as possible. “I know we really need to talk –“
