Jongdae was so excited; he had never been a part of anything before, and so proud to have been accepted. He fixed his school uniform, and looked uo at the sign that said ‘Chess Club’ with a bit of admiration.

He was about to go in and meet the people he’d be spending most of his time after school with. Sporting a big smile on his face, he ignored the heavy pounding of his nervous heart and made his move, entering the room.

The space wasn’t big, but looked comfortable, and a few older students were already there, leisuring around.

“Hello! I’m class’s 1-1 Kim Jongdae! It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

He introduced himself right away, with quite a clear voice, getting everyone’s attention.

There was a huge silence, with everyone just staring at him. Little by little, a few snickered, and others just went back to what they were doing, ignoring him completely.

Jongdae’s smile started to drop, and his eyes shifted to a student who was sitting with a book in his hands, the only one left still looking at him.

“Tsk. Freshmen.”

The student said while eyeing the newcomer down, and then returned to his book.

Jongdae very quickly realized that his club life wasn’t going to be as wonderful as he expected.
