Day 9
Getting to Know YouYongguk picked her up after work. “Where’s the gym you used to work at?” he asked Roffy when she got into the car.
She gave him the address and looked at him suspiciously. “Is there a reason why you suddenly want to work out?” Paranoia hit her and she gasped. “You’re not implying I’m fat, are you? Because I swear, married or not, I will murder you then divorce you.”
He chuckled as he started the engine again. “I think you have the order wrong.”
She ignored his jab and looked at him. “Why are you going to the gym?”
“To workout. Exercise is good for you and all that good food you make is only going to make me flabby. You don’t want to be married to someone who’s flabby right?”
Roffy snorted. “You’re skinny as a stick.” But inside, she was thrilled. Working out was always a way for her to relax and if Yongguk didn’t mind accompanying her, then this was a match made in heaven.
After they both emerged from the locker rooms, Roffy felt a little self-conscious. She wasn’t sure how fit Yongguk was but she knew from touching his arms that he did have some muscle. The other people in the gym were sweating and he held out his hand. “I’d prefer to work out next to you since I don’t trust some of the people here.”
She rolled her eyes. “There are more attractive women to hit on here. Don’t worry.”
“Oh, I’m worried.” And she looked up to see that his eyes were fixed on a certain someone who was currently doing the bench press. Her heart nearly stopped beating for a second. Said guy was looking their way with a mixed expression on his face.
Yongguk placed his hands on her shoulders and steered towards the elliptical machines. “You stay here. I’m going to go bench some.”
She gulped and wondered how he knew about He Who Must Not Be Named. From the look on Yongguk’s face, she knew that whatever was going to happen would be something worth telling. Roffy set the machine nervously and continued glancing where the two males were benching.
Yongguk started off slowly and then her heart rate increased. Guy B, as she was going to call him, began to talk to him.
“So, who’re you?”
Roffy cringed at the rudeness and realized that she must not have sent him the wedding invitation. Yongguk placed aside the weights he was lifting and wiped his forehead. “I’m Bang Yongguk, do I know you?”
The tension was obvious and Guy B shrugged. “How do you know Roffat?”
There was a smile on Yongguk’s face when he answered. “How do you know her?”
“I asked you first, bro.”
Roffy’s insides flipped. Even now, he was annoying her. Yongguk casually twisted his wedding ring. “She’s my wife.”
And the expression on his face was priceless. His entire demeanor turned cold and his face shut down. “W-wife?” he choked out the word.
Yongguk nodded and stood up. “Yeah. Are you guys friends? She never mentioned you.” And then he tipped his head. “See you around.”
When Yongguk walked back to Roffy, she was sweating more from nerves than from the workout. “Do you want to go to the other side?” he asked her and when she nodded, he placed a hand on the small of her back and steered her away.
Many apologies. I sort of just spasmed and didn't realize that I had no idea what I was writing about...
