“Andweeee!”

Hyun Ae ran towards Donghae. She held him in her arms and pulled her closer to her body.

Donghae wasn’t reacting at all with her tight embrace.

“Oppa! Oppa!” She screamed more.
But there’s no response still.

Her tears were streaming down her face.
She couldn’t believe what just happened.

After a split of a second she heard another shot.

She glanced behind her. She then saw Jaejoong holding the gun still. But this time it was aiming to someone else.


“Jae… Jaejoonga!”


Ho Dong was lying on the floor bleeding.

It was so sudden.
She doesn’t know what to feel.

Seeing Ho Dong almost dying and having Donghae in her arms unconscious brought her an ambivalence she doesn’t want to feel.

She saw Ho Dong extending his arm to her.
She quickly turned her eyes away from that man.
She doesn’t want to see his death even how much he hates him.
He’s still a human being. Seeing someone’s death isn’t something to be rejoiced.

She placed her attention to Donghae.
She was embracing him tightly.

She heard more guns firing behind her.

It was Jaejoong who was fighting Ho Dong’s men.

All she did was to push her body lower to Donghae’s chest over closed her eyes.
The fear in her made her cry more.

Jaejoong was there fighting protecting their lives.

She felt like going crazy with everything that’s happening.

In one swift motion, she felt her body being pinned down.
She couldn’t even react to it.

She doesn’t know what’s happening.

All she could see was Donghae covering her and shooting somebody behind.

She felt like everything was moving so slow.
She could hear Donghae’s breath.
She could feel how he touches her back and how his heart beats as her face was leaning on his chest.
She could feel the warmth of his touch.

Her disbelief is still eating her.


The sound of gun firing was over. Yet, she could still feel Donghae’s tight embrace.

She pushed him a bit to see him.
She looked at him as he cupped his face.
She stared at his eyes.
She couldn’t believe what’s happening.


She then felt her mind getting blurry.

Jaejoong ran to her and pulled her from Donghae.
Donghae was pushed away by Jaejoong which made him sit awkwardly at the side.

“Hyun Aeya! Hyun Aeya!” Jaejoong screamed.

She opened her eyes a bit.


“Oppa…. Gwenchana? Where does it hurt?” She said in between her breath.


But she couldn’t hear a thing.
She didn’t realize she was closing her eyes and passed out in an instant.


She couldn’t take the pressure. The too much stressful situation she just went through.

Donghae just stared at them with so much jealousy in his heart.

“Hyun Aeya…..”

She opened her eyes and realized she’s somewhere else. Not on the building she’s been kept.

She felt someone holding her hand. The grip was too tight which made her glance to the owner of those hands.

She then saw a beautiful face smiling down at her.
That man was holding her hand close to his face. Keeping it warm.


“Donghaeya?”

Donghae was smiling at her.


“Thank God you’re awake.” He said kissing her hand.

“Where am I?”

“We’re at the hospital. Everything’s fine now. Don’t worry.”

She glanced around. Searching for that familiar face she wanted to see.


Donghae noticed it which made him feel so jealous.


“He’s not here.”

“Wha… What?” Hyun Ae gasped.

“Jaejoong hyung, he’s not here.”

Hyun Ae looked away from him.
She stared at the window thinking of a better thing to say.
But she found no word to answer him.

“Mianhe……..”
Donghae softly said as he released her hand.

He was about to stand and walk when Hyun Ae caught his hand.

He stopped walking and turned his back.

“Mianhe, I know. I’m not the one you wanted to see when you wake up.”
He finally said and pulled his hand from her grip.

“Oppa….”

“He didn’t shot me there. It was an act. Tell him thank you for me.”

Donghae went to the door and opened it. He kept his eyes away from Hyun Ae so to hide his tears.

“He’ll be here in any minute. Just wait for him.”
He said before finally going out.

Hyun Ae was left speechless.
She felt so much pain that made her cry again.

The next day, Hyun Ae went out of the hospital.
She didn’t receive anything serious from the incident that’s why she asked the doctor to discharge her as soon as possible.

Hyun Ae never saw Donghae again after that day.
She went to his apartment but he wasn’t there anymore.
She just learned that he’s busy with his band and there were more schedules outside the country.

Jaejoong was with her most of the time.
She was thankful of him but then something in her heart is missing.

She just realized it the night she thought Donghae almost died.

this is almost done... i'm happy some people take time reading this one. this is a personal favorite of mine. i think i mentioned it already. i wrote this story when i was so into Donghae and I was knowing Jaejoong more. this was written 2008 i guess? yeah. last quarter of 2008. i wasn't able to write the final chapter yet. maybe because i was really confused with my two favorites then. haha.
