At Mnet…
Super Junior has been rehearsing for their performance.
It was break time, so the boys were at the backstage relaxing.

Donghae sat along with the members.
He is tired and hurt but he has to hide it.


He MUST hide it.


It’s been almost a month since he hasn’t seen Hyun Ae.
He told himself to forget her for he has so more important things in mind, but he just can’t. He still ends up calling her over the phone.


“Still calling her?” Kibum went up to him.


Like the other days, he attempts to call her.

He just nodded as he was holding his phone.
He heard a ring but then she won’t pick up.
He tried another one but still there’s no answer.
Kibum noticed it and just gave him a tap on the shoulder.


“It’s just fine hyung.”


He just can’t even smile.

Hyun Ae never answered any of his calls since they last saw each other on the hospital.
He often just leaves messages.
He’s not even sure if she listens to it.

He attempted to see her but she’s no longer staying on her apartment.
He’s not sure where to find her.
He wanted to go to Jaejoong but he couldn’t dare to see him with her.
He tried to tell him how she loves Hyun Ae but it seems too awkward for he still is his very close hyung.


“Why is she like that?” He asked Kibum.
“Just let her hyung. If she’s really happy with Jaejoong then let her be.”

He doesn’t know if he’ll do what Kibum says.
Amongst the members, he answers frankly and mentions those things that others can’t dare to say.

He placed his phone back to his pocket.

He has to loosen up.
Maybe Hyun Ae is tired of him too.

Could it be that she really doesn’t care anymore?
I just can’t imagine how this all turned out when we’re actually very happy just being together then.

He then remembered those days when they talk on the phone until morning.
They must have talked about everything under the sun, anything on their minds.


“Hyung, isn’t it your phone ringing?”

Donghae then grabbed his phone when Ryewook called him.

“Yoboseyo?” he answered.
“Officer Lee.”
“Yes?”
“We have a lead where to find Nyx.”
“Good.”
“I have the address.”

He felt good hearing the news. With his problem with Hyun Ae, at least this one will keep him busy for a while.

I’m gonna get you Nyx!

He sneaked out of the practice and met his colleague on the police force.
The man then slipped a photograph in his hand.
There were a couple of words written on it.

Congratulations! You can finally catch Nyx on October 10, 2008.

“Where did you get this?”
“It was sent on our office. I wonder who really sent it.”

He read the address then flipped it to see the photo.

Heaven’s Gate Cemetery

There’s a figure of a woman wearing black leather jeans, fitting black top and black high heeled boots.

The woman’s image wasn’t clear in the photo for she seems like running away. Only a profile of her face, which is also not that clear, is visible.

“Who would dare to send us this?” he asked.

“Maybe someone who hates her too. What matters is that we could at least have a chance to have her now.”

“Thanks for this bro.”

“So were going there tomorrow? It’s October 10.”
“I’m going there alone.”
“What if it’s a trap?”

“I have no choice. I gotta go.”
“Alone?”
“Yes, alone.”

Hyun Ae realized that she couldn’t leave Jaejoong that way. He suffered injuries which made him incapable of being alone. It maybe her conscience or her own will that made her stay.

It’s been almost a month since this happened.
Thank God that Jaejoong is getting better everyday. According to the doctor, his recovery was pretty fast. He practiced a lot of breathing techniques for the injury to his lungs affected his singing a lot.

She felt sorry for what caused him that. She keeps on blaming herself.
If it wasn’t because of her, he would’ve been with s performing.

DBSK’s activities were sort of in a delay for Jaejoong couldn’t attend to their activities.

For almost a month she stayed with Jaejoong and took good care of him.
She left her condo and chose to live near Jaejoong’s apartment so she could go to him in no time.

She’s been going to his apartment to help him everyday. Early in the morning she starts take the 2 minute walk to Jaejoong’s apartment and she comes home at night after she already had done with the dishes and gave Jaejoong his medicines at night.

It was like a routine.
A routine she’s used to do for almost a month.

“Hyun Ae-yah...” Jaejoong called her.

She was on his apartment and making their lunch.
After hearing Jaejoong called her, she then went to him to know what he wants.

“Yes?” She answered as she finally found him on the living room.

“Comedy or Action?” he asked.

“Hmm… what do you want?”

“I like both, how about you?”

“Uhm… I like the comedy one.”

They were referring to the movie that they will be watching during lunch.
It was like a habit that they have been doing almost everyday.

Finally she has done cooking and had set it on the living room.
The movie started and so their lunch.

As the movie progresses they were laughing also.
She enjoyed those moments with him.
She always saw him happy and she’s happy too with that fact.

Suddenly she heard Jaejoong coughing.
She stopped eating and went up to him quickly.

“Yah! What happened?”

She leaned to him and extended her hand to his back trying to comfort him.
She brushed his back with her palm hoping his coughing would soon go.

“I told you to eat carefully. Be careful of being aspirated. The food you take in might go into your lungs and cause us more problems.”

Soon his coughing ceased.

He asked for a glass of water which she immediately offered.

After drinking, he looked at her and smiled.

“Where did you learn those things?”
“What things?”
“Those you just said awhile ago?”

She paused.

“You researched right?” He smiled teasingly.

Yes she did. She actually did read much stuff in caring for a patient with such conditions.

“Just continue eating and don’t laugh much. Ok?” She answered.

Jaejoong just smiled and continued eating.

The movie was over and she started cleaning the dishes.
Jaejoong tried to help her but she refused.

Jaejoong was just at her back looking at what she’s doing.

She suddenly heard him speak.

“Hyun Aeya…”
“Ne?”
“Should I quit?”
“What?”
“Should I quit?”
“Of course not! You must continue being with your members. Don’t stop being a singer. You’re really good at it. I can see you love doing it.”

Jaejoong laughed.

“Why are you laughing?”
“It’s not what I mean.”
“Then what?”

“Should I… quit in the organization?”

She suddenly stopped what she’s doing.

He’s asking her opinion?

“Uhm… I think that’s a good idea.” She softly said.

“I have been thinking about it lately. And I think, being Orion has done so much trouble on my life. I didn’t want this to happen in me. To become Orion. It’s what dad wants. The business he set, he wants me to continue it. But I had enough. I felt it as a burden already. I can’t handle it anymore.”

She looked at him. He was looking down on the floor.
It was the first time she saw Jaejoong that sad.

“Do what you think is right. I’m… I’m here to support you.”

“Thanks Hyun Aeya. I’m happy that you’re with me about it.”

“So when are you gonna quit?”

“We have a meeting next week, just before the shipment. I will tell the other leaders. And that shipment will be the last one.”

She smiled at him.

Finally, Jaejoong is changing.
If he wouldn’t ask her about that, she might have asked him to do so.
It was one of her wishes that Jaejoong would quit.
She wanted him to live life in a better way.

She then gave pain medications for Jaejoong that night and then bid goodbye.

But before she stepped out of his apartment, she was so surprised when Jaejoong suddenly embraced her.

“Thank you. Thank you for being here.”

She smiled.

“No, I must thank you more. I’m so happy for you too.”

She then left after that.

She walked down the street going back to her new apartment.
She’s so happy with Jaejoong’s decision.
It’s really a turning point for him.

She opened the door of her apartment and just as she entered her phone rang.

She looked at her phone.

Lee Donghae

The phone ID registered.

She was so tempted to pick it up.
She always stopped herself for she would only put herself into trouble again.

8 missed calls

It was the total number of attempted calls for her.

She sighed.

She then listened to the messages Donghae left for her.
It was all she could do.

Hyun Aeya, why won’t you pick up?
I miss you.
I wanna see you.
I’m so sorry if I acted such way.
I just love you so much.

She felt like her heart was squeezed tightly.
She doesn’t want him to suffer but it was what she’s been making him.

But what could she do?
This is better than the worse things that might happen if they see each other.

Donghae… I’m still Nyx. Please… forgive me.

Another message came and she listened to it.

NYX…
So you now know that Orion didn’t kill your father…

“What the!” she almost cursed hearing a man’s voice talking about his father.

If you wanna see him… come to your dad’s grave tomorrow night.
Avenge his death.
