guh i missed this verse! it’s my baby and it’s been so long ;~; anyway, this was inspired by an article i read which was pretty nice and helpful. also, this particular oneshot was set in the past when jaejoong was still pining after yunho. maybe like a few weeks after they first met or something. also, yes, i changed my username here so-


note: past is when yunho was a stud muffin until he found out about his condition. present is during the time when the couple met minseok and yoosu and everyone else. future is three years after that, when minseok is already eight years old... and the years after that.

Ever since that fateful day at the café, Jaejoong’s afternoon routine has been consistent. After class, he would excitedly go to the coffee shop for his favourite barista who, by then, would have gotten off from work and is waiting for him so they could have dinner together. During the days Yunho has classes, Jaejoong would go straight home after his and then proceed to flood Yunho with messages. If Yunho finds it annoying, Jaejoong is thankful he hasn’t said anything about it yet.

But today is different. His object of affection informed him that morning that he wouldn’t be able to meet up with him as he has a deadline to beat. The guy even took a day off from work just to concentrate on his thesis so Jaejoong let him be.

There is one problem though, Jaejoong is bored out of his wits. He is itching to grab his phone and send Yunho random text messages, but that would be disrespectful. Yunho clearly does not want to be distracted and Jaejoong isn’t about to do that. Huffing at his misery, he plops down his bed and turns on his laptop.

He searched through his folders for a movie but nothing seemed to suit his mood at the moment. Getting a little desperate, he opens his web browser and types in the search bar: what to do when you want to some time with your crush but he is too busy for you.

As expected, nothing that accurately matches his query comes up. But that’s fine, he tells himself, because there is something that catches his attention. “Ten things you could do right now instead of texting your crush.” he reads the title of the article and then giggles. “Crush. Close enough.”

He clicks the link.
