The Gear symbolises being a student of the Faculty of Engineering. However, in order to attain it, first year Engineering students must first undergo the SOTUS system. Third year senior student Kim Jaejoong is the head hazer and often abuses the power given to him, making the freshmen do things that are against the rules. Freshmen students are essentially powerless to complain or resist any order given by their seniors. Jaejoong is seemingly unstoppable until a freshman, Jung Yunho, stood up against the abuse which resulted in a strained relationship between them. Despite that, continuous encounters between the two helped transform their relationship into something much more affectionate.
