Chapter 3

Forever

Author’s POV:

The sun shone through the sheer curtains, aiming directly into Kris’s face. He scrunched up his eyebrows and rolled onto his side so the sun would shine onto his side instead.

Feeling rather cool, he knew without even opening his eyes that Jessica had shifted away from him in her sleep. Kris proceeded to extend his hand to search for his wife and succeeded when he came in contact with her milky soft skin. He trailed his fingers across her flat tummy before gripping onto her hips, pulling her back towards him.

Only when his chest came into contact to Jessica’s backside did Kris feel complete and comfortable. Feeling his wife squirm even more into his hold, he knew that she was feeling extra cold since they weren’t in any clothing at all underneath the light bed sheets. Kris snuggled his face towards the back of his wife’s neck, placing a light kiss. The two then returned back into a deep slumber.

Jolting awake again after what seemed like hours, Kris only realized several minutes passed after he took a quick glance at the clock. Feeling Jessica’s arms slide around his waist, he sleepily glanced down to see her bright brown eyes blinking at him.

“You’re awake.” Kris mumbled, nuzzling her cheek as he shut his eyes again.

Jessica only hummed. Her eyes fluttered shut when he placed a kiss on her temple.

“Go back to sleep.” He instructed, already trying to doze off himself.

“But it’s almost 11pm.” Jessica finally responded verbally.

Kris didn’t see anything wrong with the time and only made himself much more comfortable. Nodding, Kris only laid there peacefully with no intentions of moving.

“Are you going back to sleep?” Jessica questioned, running her hand gently through his soft golden hair.

Receiving no reply, Jessica took it as a ‘yes’ and sighed. They needed to get up now if they wanted to be on time. Knowing how slow paced the two of them were, Jessica didn’t want to be late when they were on a scheduled time.

Seeming that her husband was unwilling to wake up (which is completely normal and does happen on a daily basis), Jessica started to squirm out of his hold. Just as she was almost off the bed, she was caught and rolled back into Kris’ arms.

“And where does my aegi think she’s going?” Kris’ eyes opened, blinking with a look of expectation.

“Up and out of bed.” Jessica answered straightforwardly with casual blinking eyes, not forgetting to place a chaste kiss on his lips.

Kris’ arms were locked around waist, making her glued to him. His eyebrows rose, knowing that his wife knew him much better than this. Kris loved to sleep in, that was a known fact that of course, Jessica knew all too well. Just as Kris was about to cuddle himself with Jessica, the latter spoke up and made him halt in his movement.

“We have to get up or we’re going to be late, my extremely handsome hubby.” Jessica cracked a smile, cupping his cheeks.

Kris stared at Jessica with an uncomprehending expression. “And what do we have planned for the day, my extremely beautiful wife?” he followed along regardless of how lost he is.

“You don’t remember?” Jessica crooked her head to the side. “We have lunch today.”

“We do?”

The wife nodded her head. “Oppa, we made plans to have lunch with Catherine and David yesterday, remember?”

“Who?” Kris’ face consisted of a dumbfounded appearance.

Jessica’s eyes widened. “The two people we met yesterday at the beach. We played volleyball with them!”

Kris took a moment to recall. “Oh, them~” He let out a knowing drag of words.

After many mind-blowing events that occurred last night, Kris could barely call to mind who he had met yesterday. After all, his world only mainly consisted of his one and only Jessica. He didn’t bother paying full attention when he met David and Catherine yesterday, since the only thing on his mind during that time was Jessica’s apology she had owed him.

“Do we have to go?” The thought of having lunch with people he sparsely remembered made Kris’ shoulders deflate.

“Yes,” Jessica gave him a look of finality. “We made plans with them just yesterday. It’d be rude to just agree with their offer and never show up. Plus, it’s great that we made friends on this trip. Now we have someone to talk to other than ourselves.”

Kris frowned at the last thing his wife said. He didn’t want to be bothered by other people, let alone talk to others. He and Jessica were on their honeymoon. The only people they should be communicating with would only be the two themselves. Kris disliked the idea of having another couple around them when they were better off by themselves.

“Let’s go.” Jessica tugged at his arm, signaling him to get up.

“What if I don’t want to?” the supposed ‘mature’ husband childishly pouted.

Instead of receiving a surrendering response, Kris only got a squeals and giggles from his wife. “Kris~ I told you that you could be cute!” Jessica pinched his cheeks with an excited smile plastered on her face.

Grabbing onto his wife’s hands, the husband stopped her from squishing his cheeks. “I’m not cute.” He dropped his attempt at trying to pout like her.

“Yes you are~” Jessica cutely pecked his lips. “Do the pout again! It’s so cute~”

“No,” Kris sighed when Jessica attached her fingers onto his cheeks, lightly pinching them again. “Let’s…let’s just go to the stupid lunch now.” He gave up.

“Oppa, pout again!” Jessica urged him, even if the both of them sat up on the bed.

Kris only buried his face into his palms. His attempt at trying to get his way by being just as cute as his wife failed miserably, as Jessica only loves to see his cute expressions since he doesn’t normally show them.

Guess aeygo only works if Jessica does it.

--

On their way towards the designated restaurant, Jessica couldn’t help but keep staring at her phone. A smile never leaving her lips as she stared at the new picture she used as her wallpaper.

After excessive pleas, kisses and aeygo, Kris was finally persuaded to cutely pout along with Jessica in a selca. Of course, that picture was now Jessica’s wallpaper for her phone’s lock screen and home screen, never failing to make Jessica smile every time she glanced at her phone.

Not even aware that they arrived at the busy restaurant, Jessica had to be guided in by Kris. It wasn’t until Kris snatched her phone away did Jessica fully pay attention. The two spotted Catherine and David already seated at a table and quickly trailed their way over after the two waved them over.

“Sorry we were late.” Jessica immediately apologized, Kris muttering his apologies as well for being ten minutes late before taking a seat.

Both Catherine and David shook their heads, not minding at all. “No worries, I hope you two don’t mind, but we ordered for you. We just chose the chef’s choice.”

“Oh, of course not.” Jessica smiled, glancing over at Kris for a second. “Thank you.”

As the ladies engaged in a happy conversation, Kris was busy getting to know David. Kris’ brief disinterest flew out the window when he found out that David was a fan of basketball. The males had more in common than Kris thought and were in a joyous conversation themselves. It wasn’t until David excused himself to the bathroom did Kris feel bored.

He glanced over at Jessica who was fully concentrated in her conversation with Catherine. Not wanting to bother, Kris found entertainment with the hem of Jessica’s dress. He grinned when he realized it was the peach dress he had bought her for their first anniversary as boyfriend and girlfriend.

It wasn’t until he noticed Jessica crossing her legs underneath the table did Kris divert his attention from the dress. Scanning his eyes over his wife’s perfect milky legs, he couldn’t help but hook his leg with hers.

Jessica stole a quick glance at him from the sudden intimate contact, but Kris only pulled out his phone and pretended to busy. When Jessica reverted back to Catherine, Kris only smirked and slid his leg against hers. Gaining another look from his wife, this time he had a grin playing on his lips. Before long, the two were continuously playing footsie secretly under the table.

When David came back, the waiter came by with drinks. Having four glasses of a honey brown colored drink placed on the table, Kris’ sharp eyes already knew what it was. Just as Jessica was about to reach out for her drink, Kris grabbed it before her and handed it to the waiter.

“Can you switch this for water, please?” Kris demanded, receiving a nod from the waiter.

Jessica only gave a grateful smile towards her husband, knowing what he just did for her. Unlike Jessica, Catherine and David had confused expressions on their faces, wondering what was wrong with the alcoholic beverage that they had ordered for them.

“She has a low alcohol tolerance.” Kris explained, reading their faces. “After a cup or two, she gets giddy.” He placed a small kiss on the crown of Jessica’s head as he slung his arm over her shoulders.

The two friends nodded their heads. “That’s so sweet. You two are so caring towards each other. I’m so jealous.” Catherine sighed.

David only gave his girlfriend a confused expression. “I care for you too.” He stated.

“If you really did care, you would have put a ring on my finger~” Catherine chirped, holding up her left hand.

Kris and Jessica laughed as the two were playfully arguing. Soon enough, the food arrived and another small problem arose. Glancing at each other, Kris and Jessica exchanged agreeing looks before switching their plates.

Of course, Kris disliked fish while Jessica hated cucumbers. It just so happened that the two received dishes with the items that they detested.

“You two are made for each other.” Catherine commented, glancing back and forth at the two. “You know each other down to the littlest bit. It’s so lovely that you guys are married.” She sighed in jealousy.

--

“Where are we going?” Jessica asked, wondering where Kris was taking her all of the sudden. “I didn’t bring my phone.”

“Don’t worry, you don’t need anything. We’re not going far.” Kris reassured, leading her.

In the midst of packing up their belongings at the hotel room, Jessica had to use the bathroom. They were reaching the end of their honeymoon trip and were to go back to Korea in an estimate of twelve hours. Kris had a final thought in mind to end their honeymoon and wasn’t about to leave without fulfilling the wish with Jessica.

As soon as Jessica stepped out of the bathroom, Kris had pulled out of the hotel room and into the elevator. Seeing that the hotel was right behind the beach, walking was not a problem. Jessica was still puzzled and confused as to where they were going.

“It’s dark out.” Jessica stared up at the starry night sky. “What’s there to do at 11pm?” she gawked at her husband in complete bewilderment.

Not getting a response but only a joyful grin from Kris, Jessica just decided to follow his lead and hugged onto him.

As soon as they reached the sand, Jessica’s eyes widened. “We’re going to the beach again?”

Kris smiled and nodded his head before the two started to take off their flip-flops. Making their way towards a random sun chaise, they placed their sandals down.

“What are we doing here?” Jessica asked with a small smile on her lips as she was being led towards the water.

“We’re taking stroll on the beach at night.” Kris replied, reciprocating her smile.

Wrapping his arms around her waist, Kris back hugged her as they sauntered the seaside. The waves splashing just a few inches away from them, but not powerful enough to wash over their feet.

Jessica gave a contented smile, finding it very romantic of her husband to take the initiative to do something like this. Taking a walk on a moonlit beach in Hawaii felt heartwarming and lovely, especially when there was no one else around except the two.

“I heard the beaches here were nice at night, so I wanted to see it with you.” Kris spoke up after a brief comfortable silence.

“I think it’s beautiful.” Jessica grinned, looking up at her husband with twinkling eyes. “Thank you for showing me, Kris.”

Spinning her around, Kris gladly locked their lips together. “It’s not as beautiful as you, my flawless wife.” He murmured against her lips, too selfish to let go.

His comment made Jessica burst out into giggles just thinking about how ridiculously corny it was. “Thank you, my handsome husband.”

{Author's Note}: Blargh. Sorry for this y chapter. I just incorporated some regular info that readers who didn't read the prequel might not have known. Starting next chapter it's going to be KrisSica's daily life. Definitely excited to be writing about that. I'm sure it'll be a comical chapter since a special mommy will be in it :)
