Psychological fact: When a person cries and the first drop of tears comes from the right eye, it’s happiness.

“I think I’m in love with you.”  

Aleyah’s world stopped spinning at that moment in time. She couldn’t hear the sound of the water hitting by the river bank, she couldn’t see the flickering street lamp that was ceasing out a distance away from them; all she could see was herself in his dark enchanting eyes and all she could hear was his warm voice in this chilly autumn.

“I don’t know when did I start falling in love with you but I only realized that I do when I saw myself in your eyes just now.” Kai bit his lips as he leaned his forehead on hers, letting the bridge of their nose touch. What he said was the truth because he himself doesn’t know when did he start falling in love with her. Was it those nights when they stayed up to text one another because neither of them wanted to end the conversation or when they could glance at each other in the room and know what one another is thinking?

The man felt that it was both but there was definitely something more to it. He was not sure himself why the lady before him always seem so familiar to him or how it feels like he was remembering who she was more than getting to know her. It was this kind of familiarity and comfort he feels whenever he’s with her that astounds him; the feeling of being complete.

“I know you feel the same way as me too.” His words were so soothing to her ears that it made her smile with a tear escaping from her right eye, “Right Aleyah?”

The lady couldn’t stop her tears from flowing from her eyes. The feeling was so amazing that she couldn’t find words to describe it. She was sure none of the words in the Oxford dictionary would be able express this overwhelming feeling right now. The man that she has been in love with for 8 years turns out to love her too. If she could stop the time, she would choose to freeze this moment now. What had just happened was too precious to her and she was afraid that it was nothing but a dream. And she doesn’t want any of this to end; even if she had to die in her sleep to continue this dream.

 “Yes I do.” She managed to choke out those 3 words before covering to silence her own sobs. Those words probably understated her love for him but for now, it was sufficient.

“I can go back myself.” Aleyah broke the silence between them when Kai followed her out of the lift on the 19^th floor. However he just shook his head stubbornly.

They continued to walk in silence with him lagging a few steps behind. He stared at her back before running a few steps forward to walk alongside with her, his hand intertwined with hers.

The lady turned around and looked at him in shock. They were in the hotel and it was not safe for them to have any skinship because he was an idol with an image to maintain, “Kai…”

“You remember your promise right?” The couple stood outside her room’s door, their right hands tangled in one another’s.

“You promised never to leave without telling me ever again, so please don’t… disappear tomorrow.” His low voice trembled a little as he continued, “Whatever happened at the bridge wasn’t in the moment of heat. We are both old enough to know that right?”

She nodded.

“So I will still see you tomorrow?” The man has never been so insecure before. He was holding her hand so tightly as though his whole life depended on it, as though if he were to let go she would disappear instantly. He could almost feel himself tearing apart with the thought of her not around anymore tomorrow, like the other time. And he doesn’t want that.

“Yes.” Aleyah withdraw her hand from his unwillingly before turning around to unlock her door, “Goodnight Kai.”

 “Goodnight.”

However, Kai did not move an inch from his spot, his eyes were still wavering with uncertainty and fear as they stared at her. The lady saw it all. “Kai…” She walked back to him and held his hands firmly.

“I will still be here tomorrow. I won’t leave. There’s nowhere I can go. And I still have a job to deliver remember?” She smiled at him with her confident hazelnut eyes as an assurance.

“I promise you I will still be here when you wake up tomorrow.” Sticking her pinky out, she waited for him.

There were many things the man had lost in his life for the past decades and he knows he can’t afford to lose her now. As much as he was still insecure, her promise did make him feel a little more confident than before. Convincing himself to trust her and also trust the relationship they shared, he stuck his pinky out and wrap around hers.

When Kai reached his room, it was already almost 4.30am but the lights were still switched on. Surprisingly, Kyungsoo was sitting on the bed with his eyes glued to the television.

“Why are you still awake?” He walked over to the cupboard beside the bed before taking off his coat and hanged it.

“Waiting for you.” Kyungsoo replied as he turned over to look at him. “Where did you go? You disappeared halfway through the supper.”

The question caused the man to recall what happened earlier and he could feel heat rushing back into him. Immediately, he turned around to pack his luggage as he hid his blush from the elder. “Was just taking a stroll nearby. Why?”

“Your fiancé has been looking for you urgently.” The older one emphasized on the last word as he spoke. “She has been calling me to speak to you. She said you did not reply her for days and your phone was off.”

“Not only so, she called Luhan and Sehun too.”

Solbi. Then it suddenly hit Kai that he had totally forgot about her existence ever since he came to Europe. He did not even realize that his phone was not switched on because to him there wasn’t a need for his phone when she was constantly beside him. There was no need to communicate through messages when they can talk to each other face to face.

He rubbed his forehead before he heard Kyungsoo’s voice again, “By the way, last warning to your fiancé. Her tone was really getting on our nerves just now. She needs to know that she’s asking a favour from us and not the other way round. We are not her slaves for her to order about and go around looking for you.”

Kai let out a long sighed after he heard what his older hyung said. This wasn’t the first time the members were complaining about Solbi. Or rather, there wasn’t a time where the members were not complaining about her. Whenever the either party interacts with the other, a complain session would be held afterwards from both party. He wouldn’t be surprised if Solbi would grumble about how uncooperative s were in helping her to search for him if he was to call her afterwards.

“Please remember to call her or she’s going to call me again in the next hour. I’ve delivered my message so I’m turning in. Goodnight.” Kyungsoo switched off the television and his bedlamp, leaving Kai with a ray of dim light coming from the toilet.

His initial happiness did not last for long. He was plagued with so much frustration now that he just couldn’t bring himself to call Solbi. If he does, he knew he would snap at her. And she would definitely be upset about it but the pain of pacifying her afterwards would be an even bigger headache. Kai switched on the shower tap and let the warm water run down his milk-chocolate skin. Since when did he have such negative feelings towards Solbi? Had it always been there all these while but he just failed to see it because he thought he was in love in Solbi?

Pulling the bathrobe over his toned body, he tied it neatly with a knot before he went over to his luggage and rummage for his phone. He saw 54 unread messages and 100 over missed call from Solbi, each was filled with concern, love and worry about him. Guilt started to eat him as he remembered what he did with Aleyah while his fiancé was waiting for him in Korea. But the feeling of frustration was still lingering in him. It did not make things better when he realized that such conflicts would not happen if Aleyah was his fiancé instead of Solbi. There would be a peaceful and coherent existence between his both hands unlike now.

Laying on his bed, he decided that he should just sleep everything off. There was something more important he needed to do tomorrow morning than vexed about these now. With that, he quickly typed in a reply to his fiancé before switching off his phone and went to dreamland,

I am fine. Don’t worry about me.

My friend told me to cut away or rewrite the part where Kai lingered outside her hotel's room.

She said she has no feelings after reading it. But I'm sorry friend (you know who you are), I've decided to still put it in.
