“Come on! Let’s go to the reception hall for dinner!” Her mother piped loudly.

Her guests all agreed in unison and the crowds started pushing to a door on the right, which would lead to a lavish dining air, fit for 50 people.

Yoon Ju was pushed forward by the crowds as her stepfather and mother disappeared. She looked up and was startled to find herself inches away from Sehun. He stared down at her but looked away too quickly.

“Your…” Yoon Ju breathed nervously, “my new step-brother?”

Sehun scoffed and stepped back for space, which he couldn’t get much of since the crowds were still tightly packed, “Well you saw the wedding, didn’t you? Or were you too busy watching me?”

Yoon Ju looked away, hiding her flushed cheeks, “I-I wasn’t watching you, ok?! I was just…” she trailed off, not able to think of an excuse.

“Watching me.” Sehun finished with a raised eyebrow.

Yoon Ju glared at him, but was unable to think of a comeback.

“Yoon Ju!” One of her mother’s friends called out from beside the door. The crowd was mostly gone now. “Come on! You too, Sehun!”

Both teens glanced at each other before walking out of the door. They took their seats, which happened to be next to each other, in the table in the very front of the reception hall with their parents.

Yoon Ju looked around to find Krystal, but the girl had seemingly vanished.

Sehun also was searching for someone but couldn’t find him or her. He let out an aggravated sigh and turned back, glancing at Yoon Ju.

He may be acting like he didn’t get along with her right now, but he couldn’t help but admit that she looked stunning in her dark purple cocktail dress and black killer stilettos. Other people may have shows discomfort with the shoes, but Yoon Ju was walking in them like she was wearing simple flats, with no problem.

Yoon Ju turned and caught his glance with a raised eyebrow, “Now who’s the one staring?”

Sehun gave her a knowing look, “So you admit you were staring at me?”

Yoon Ju let out a breath of air, taken back. She frowned and looked away and Sehun couldn’t help but chuckle at her. She didn’t want to admit that she had been staring at him through ought the wedding, though it was obvious to both of them.

Her mother clapped her hands, getting everyone’s attention, “Since the reception has officially started, let’s bring out the food!”

Applause and cheers erupted from the hungry guests and Yoon Ju smiled widely, she hadn’t ate all morning as she had been too busy being forced by her mother to do work for the wedding.

Out of double doors from the corner of the room, waiters exited. They were all dressed in black and white suits with trays held on their shoulders, support by one of their arms. A long napkin was hanging on their other arm. They seemed professional with their blank expressions and neat-combed hairstyles.

Yoon Ju tapped her heel on the ground as she waited for the waiters to visit every table in the room before they would reach hers. Her mother didn’t want any of her beloved guests waiting.

Finally, the first waiter reached their table and used tongs to place salad on their plates.

Yoon Ju frowned, she usually didn’t salad or any uncooked vegetables, and it tasted too bland to her. She glanced up and saw her mother staring right at her.

‘Eat it.’ her mother mouthed to her before quickly smiling.

Yoon Ju sighed, she had no choice. She took a fork and placed some of the salad in , frowning at the taste but forcefully swallowing it with a slightly disgusted expression.

Sehun watched her take bite after bite, her expression cringing into one of disgust as she chewed. He glanced down at his own salad and pushed it away, not wanting to taste it.

Another waiter came to their table, this time with meat. Yoon Ju’s expression lit up as he placed a small piece of steak onto her plate.

“Yoon Ju.” Her mother cooed, a little too sweetly, “Are you sure you want to eat that? Shouldn’t… you go on a diet? I mean you’ve been seeming a little bigger lately.” She chuckled.

Yoon Ju almost dropped her fork, with a piece of meat on it, to the ground. “What? Diet?!

Sehun frowned; he didn’t think that she looked the least bit fat.

Her mother nodded though, “Yes… sweety.” She placed a hand on Yoon Ju’s, the one that was holding the fork, and slowly lowered it.

Yoon Ju gritted her teeth together, “I’m not… fat… mom. I’m fine. Let me eat.”

Her mother laughed, looking around the silent table, “Of course you wouldn’t notice, Yoon Ju. But I have just noticed you’ve been eating a lot of ice cream and all and-“

“Mother.” Yoon Ju cut her off with an expression of utter belief. “Are you really going to be like this?”

Her mother frowned deeply, “Like what, Yoon Ju? I’m just saying what’s true. You should-“

Yoon Ju abruptly stood up, shooting daggers at her mother. She turned around and saw a lot of the tables nearby them were watching too, with expressions of pity.

She stepped forward to leave but at the same time one of the waiters was heading to their table. They crashed into each other and his tray of food went flying from his hand and Yoon Ju stumbled forward. Luckily, she caught hold of someone’s chair before she fell, though the waiter didn’t have the same fate.

He glared at her from the crowd and she bowed in apology and turned around to see what happened to the food.

dropped open and her eyes widened, “OH MY GOD!”

Sehun glared at her dangerously, his arms extended as the mushy mashed potatoes were draped all over his body. “You…” he clenched his hands into fists and let them fall to his side, “What…have you done?!”

Yoon Ju rushed up to him, pushing some of the food off, “Oh my god… I’m really sorry!”

Sehun glared at her, nothing but anger in his mind. He had gotten up to go after her, but he’d been sprayed with food instead. He reached back, taking a handful of the casserole they’d been given and launched it onto Yoon Ju’s dress.

Yoon Ju’s eyes dropped to her dress and she moved away from Sehun. “You…” she muttered, she looked back up with teary eyes, “You…. I hate you!” she turned and ran out of the room, leaving Sehun with wide eyes, only now realizing what he did.
