Taemin’s POV:

I never liked the dark. I hate walking alone at night. Stupid SM building, being so far away from our dorms.

I sighed and continued walking.

I had stayed later than my Hyungs to practice on some stuff I missed out on. I had told them I would walk back home when I was done and I guess I lost track of time.

I decided to take the short cut through the park so I could hurry up and get out of the darkness, and plus, the park was always so pretty, and had more lights on than the normal way.

As I came to the path that led to the road I needed to cross I froze.

I saw a girl standing in front of the busy road. Her hair was messed up and her shirt looked a little ripped. I stared in confusion. She was looking up at the stars like I often did.

The light was still red but I saw her slowly take a step forward.

My eyes widened in terror and I ran without thinking.

Right when I got to her she had taken two steps out into the road and there was a large car headed for her.

No! Come one Taemin! Run!

I reached her right in time and pulled her out of the road and into my arms. I had fallen back and she had landed on me.

I held her closely and noticed her trembling.

I looked down and realized she had no shoes on and she had some cuts and bruises on her arms and legs.

But that isn’t what shocked me most.

Her face.

I knew her.

It was Mi Young.

That girl who goes to my school. The girl who passes by when those guys bully me.

“M-Mi Young…?”

All she could respond was “W-why… why…?”

And then her eyes closed and she was out.

I didn’t want to leave her there so I picked her up, bridal style and made sure I didn’t drop anything. I turned and headed for the dorms.

I knocked on the door with my foot and waited.

Key Hyung answered the door, “Taemin! What took you so---“

He froze when he saw Mi Young in my arms.

I pushed passed him, ignoring the stares of my Hyungs.

I felt her wiggle in my arms so I quickened my pace to my bed room.

I set her down on my bed and looked at her to make sure she was still out.

She kept on mumbling the words “why...? Why…?” but she was still asleep.

I let out a sigh of relief and slowly found myself observing her face.

I hadn’t seen much of her in school seeing as how I look down all the time.

She was really pretty and for some reason I felt my heart speed up a little.

I was interrupted by a tiny knock at my door.

I turned and saw Onew Hyung standing there nervously.

I nodded at him and turned back to Mi Young to cover her with my blanket.

Hopefully she’ll sleep long. It seems like she needs it.

I head out of the room and follow Onew to the living room where all my Hyungs were.

“Who is she?! Why is my baby bringing home some girl?” Key asked worriedly.

I figured she wouldn’t want me going around and telling people that she was just about to kill herself…

“Sorry Hyung. She’s…” I paused for a second and thought, “She’s a friend from school. I found her in the park… unconscious… and I don’t know where she lives so I brought her here.”

No, she wasn’t a friend. Actually the only thing I knew about her was her name. I don’t think she talks to anyone.

“You aren’t lying to us are you? You didn’t her or anything did you?” Jonghyun said, almost shouting.

“Hyung! Would you stop! I’m not like that! It’s the truth! I just found her there…”

“Taemin-ah… I thought I saw bruises on her legs…” Onew mentioned.

I froze up. How do I explain those? I don’t even know myself…

“Is it possible she was…attacked or something…?” Onew asked.

“Hyung, I don’t know. I just found her like that.”

Minho let out a sigh, “She isn’t a fan is she? You don’t think she’ll flip out when she wakes up?”

I thought about it.

I’ve never really seen her pay attention to me like the other “fans” at the school. Actually she doesn’t even listen to music, now that I think about it...

“Hyung, she’ll be fine. I promise.”

“Ok, fine then. She can stay. And anyways aren’t you on a break from school starting tomorrow?”

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

I nodded.

“Ok. But Taemin, you better take care of her. Help her in the morning. Now go to bed. You need sleep.” Onew said in his leader like caring voice.

“Ok, thanks Hyung.” I headed off to my room.

Crap. Where am I gonna sleep?

I sighed and set up a bed on the floor next to my bed with extra blankets.

This is gonna be one hell of a winter break.
