Part 9

Lunch Time

Ringg~

There went the lunch bell.

I sighed, slowly walking towards the cafeteria. Still hearing the mere murmurs of whispers and rumors silently buzzing as I passed.

I opened the doors of the cafeteria to find all eyes on me. I reluctantly took a solemn glance at my old table. There they were. Shin Se Kyung and Jonghyun were linked by the hip, chatting with each other and their many friends surrounding them. At this point, sitting of there would just make the same tense atmosphere that I created this morning.

“____!” I turned my head to see Taemin running towards me, “So did you enjoy my note this morning?”
 

I playfully shoved him, “Shut up,”

Suddenly he went serious, “I'm glad to no you're still doing fine though,”

I eyed Shin Se Kyung and Jonghyun, “Yeah. I'm surprised that I've even made it this far without breaking down into uncontrollable sobs or going over to the couple and punching one of them in the face,”

“You're doing good,” Taemin pulled me towards him into a quick hug before guiding me towards a lunch table. At the table Taecyeon and Yoona were munching on their food.

“Yah! Taemin!” Taecyeon came over and grabbed him, lifting him from the ground, “Yoona told me you left in the middle of your date,”

Yoona quietly blushed at the word 'date'.

“Ow,” Taemin flinched in pain, “First off, you didn't tell me it was a double date. Secondly, ____ was in trouble so I had to help her.”

Taecyeon shoved his head so that he was bowing at Yoona, “Apologize,”

“You don't have to make him to this,” Flustered Yoona complained at the embarrassing scene.

“Sorry,” Taemin sincerely apologized. “I promise it will never happen again,”

“Good,” Taecyeon approvingly nodded. Suddenly, his intimidating atmosphere disappeared and he pulled the three off them into a huge big hug.

I smiled. Must be nice to have friends that close, like a second family. Family.

“________!” Taecyeon called, “Come join us,”

I awkwardly shook my head, “No worries. I'm good,”

“Aw come on,” Before I knew it the big buff teddy bear carried my towards the group and forced us all together.

“Sorry, ____,” Taemin apologized, “He's always like a big soft teddy bear. Gentle and kind, yet big, buff, and scary,”

“I'm not scary!” Taecyeon remarked.

I giggled, “It's fine. I really needed a hug,”

Taemin smiled.

We sat down and began to eat our lunch. Throughout the majority of the time, Taecyeon kept doing things to try and hook Yoona and Taemin up. I could see the determination gleam in his eyes.
 

Yoona seemed very flustered and shy throughout the whole thing. I like her. Looking at her I become jealous. She seems like the innocent person who hasn't experienced the pain, the suffering, and the agony the world can bring. Also, she seems very kind, caring, and gentle, completely the opposite of her extra-bubbly sister. I just hoped Yoona didn't hate me for ruining her date with Taemin.

“Yoona,” I casually brought up. All of their eyes were on me, “Sorry for ruining your date with Taemin. I just suddenly felt really sick. I promise I'll make it up to you,”

“Ah! N-no, it's okay really,” She exclaimed, completely flustered.

I just smiled. It's glad to know some people don't hate me right now.

As if right on cue, people started passing us by, whispering and pointing fingers. Taecyon and Yoona sheepishly looked down and at their food, hoping the awkward atmosphere would pass over. Taemin stared at me, waiting for my reaction. I just took a deep breath.

The three of them looked at each other wondering what to do.

“I heard that she confessed to him about cheating on the day of their anniversary,”

“I heard that he found her snuggling with some guy under a tree at a park,”

“I heard he found her at a party grinding up on a guy, dancing like a wild, drunk stripper and made out with him,”

“I heard that Jonghyun found her in bed with two guys. I can't believe what a she is. Jonghyun deserves better,” A girl hissed.

With that last comment I snapped, furiously standing up and pushing the chair away from me. Yoona and Taecyeon looked up, surprised. Taemin watched me carefully.

“Sorry guys,” I gritted my teeth, “But I have something I need to take care of,” With that I strutted towards the lovey-dovey couple surrounded by a crowd in my used to be lunch spot. People parted quickly like the Red Sea. As I approached I watched as the giggly couple fed each other. Sickening.

I slammed my hand fiercely on the lunch table. Shin Se Kyung jumped. Jonghyun looked up at me with an irritatedly pissed look.

“What do you want?!” Jonghyun hissed.

“We need to talk,” I firmly stated. Looking at his reluctant self, I stated, “NOW,”

“Tsk,” Annoyed, he scratched his head, “Fine,” He pecked Se Kyung on the lips, “See you later babe,”

Shin Se Kyung eyed me and pulled Jonghyun into a deeper kiss.

I rolled my eyes, angrily tapping my foot as time passed us by. They were still kissing.

“Okay you know what?” Completely irritated, I took Jonghyun by the ear and dragged him out of the cafeteria, towards the school garden.

“YAH!” He ripped himself away from my grasp, “You could be more gentle,” He rubbed his ear.

“And you could be the opposite of the cross breed of a douche and an , but you know what? That ain't gonna happen now will it?”

“Wow, someone's being a complete today,” Jonghyun muttered.

“Oh I'm sorry,” I stated sarcastically, “Am I suppose to be some happy sunshine right now because these crazy rumors are spreading faster than a wildfire? OBVIOUSLY NOT!”

“Chill,” He nonchalantly stated and sat down on the cement bench. “Why don't you just calm yourself and sit down?” He pat the space next to him.

“Do not tell me what to do!” I hissed, but gave up and sat down anyway.

“Do what do you wanna talk about?” He asked.

“Why are you acting like nothing's wrong?” I glared at him. “People are talking about how I cheated on you. When both of us know it was the other way around,”

“It's just rumors. They'll simmer down sooner or later,”

“Just rumors?!” I screamed at him, “I don't know if you haven't realized this Jonghyun, since you've been all caught up with your girlfriend and practically devouring each others face, BUT people are all pissed at me for breaking the oh-so-popular Jonghyun's heart.”

“First off, I have realized. Second off, I could really care less. Thirdly, you're just jealous because we barely even shared that great of kisses publicly,”

I clenched my hands into fists, “We didn't kiss like that in public because we actually cared about each other. It was the type of relationship that was more on our feelings rather than touching each other. At least that's how I thought of it. I don't know what you thought because from the sounds of everything you're telling me, you sound like a stranger to me,”

Jonghyun snickered, “I didn't kiss you like that in public because you hated it. I would always desperately hold myself back just to make you happy. I hated it. You were just too innocent for me. So I threw you away,” He looked at me in the eyes, “And about the stranger comment. Maybe, you just had an image in your head of what you wanted me to be, but you never looked at how I really was,”

With that he got up, leaving me there to stare at the ground, gripping the fabric of my uniform skirt.

“____,” I heard my name being whispered into my ear, “Come on, lunch is over. Time to get to class,” I felt his warm arms supporting me. The same scent of him that lingered on me last night as we quietly lied in bed.

At Home

Worst. Day. Of. School. In. My. Life. Everywhere I went, people would point, whisper, and snicker. Jonghyun had ignored me the rest of the day, since we practically had every class together. What made it worse was that in some classes we had assigned seats and mine were all next to Jonghyun. I attempted to avoid glancing at him, but it failed. I would always find him staring at Shin Se Kyung, making faces at each other. Because of that, I decided it was best to pay attention in class.

Jonghyun. I stared at the bubble letters and doodles I had written on my homework. His name in big bold bubble letters in the center. I sighed.

Too engulfed in my own problems, I didn't notice a pair of sad eyes staring at me from the kitchen. Those eyes watched as I kept doodling Jonghyun's name. Upset by the fact that I wasn't thinking of him, the boy turned back to cooking dinner.

I DON'T LIKE SCHOOL I DON'T LIKE SCHOOL!

IT'S ALMOST THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR AND TEACHERS KEEP CRAMMING IN MORE HOMEWORK AND PROJECTS.

BY THIS TIME THE HOMEWORK SHOULD BE GOING DOWN.
