The Kim Family kindly allowed us to take any transportation we'd prefer to the destinations of our liking. Jonghyun and I took a private jet just for the fun of it. After half an hour or so, I noticed Jonghyun had taken us back to our hometown.

I heard Jonghyun's stomach growl like crazy as we walked down the sidewalk together.

I apologetically sighed, “Sorry for making you have to rush before you even finished breakfast.”

“No, it's okay. Being with you makes it all better,” Jonghyun remarked.

I rolled my eyes, stopping in my tracks when I see a familiar cafe.

“Oh look!” Jonghyun spotted it as well, “We used to go here all the time when we dated. Let's go!” Jonghyun grabbed my hand and guided me towards the cafe full of memories. When we got inside, I noticed that cafe hadn't changed one bit. It was a very artse cafe with a white wall with a light blue and neon pink splatter paint all over. The stool chairs, the round glittery tables, the comfy couches in the lounge where all chic black. The centerpieces were often creative candles that the art institute next door would make.

“Just like old times right?” Jonghyun asked.

I sighed, “Please just grab something to eat so I don't have to hear your stomach grumbling anymore.” Sadly, Jonghyun, no matter how much the cafe hasn't changed, the furniture, the atmosphere, the artistic feel, we've changed.

I watched as Jonghyun asked for some waffles and shoved them down his throat. I on the other hand, started reminiscing of the times Jonghyun and I spent here. We sat in the same place each and every time we came here. On Sunday mornings we would both share a mega sundae after breakfast. It was our tradition. Whenever I was feeling tired or sleepy after school, Jonghyun would bring me here for a french vanilla cappuccino to get me in a happier, hyper mood.

“Yo! _____!” I went back down to reality to see Jonghyun out of his chair, his face a couple inches away from mine. “What are you thinking of?”

“Nothing!” I backed away. Way too close for comfort. However, by forcefully pulling back my chair had been set off balance and I was starting to tip backwards. Jonghyun swiftly grabbed the sides of my chair, preventing the chair from falling backwards.

“Are you okay?” He asked, concerned. Jonghyun's face was now closer than it was earlier.

“I-i'm fine.” I answered.

Jonghyun noticed my stutter and smirked a little.

“Y-yah! Can you please back off now?” I shoved his shoulder.

Again, there was a smirk clearly plastered on his face, “Okay. Whatever you say.” He backed off, but then put his hand out. “Shall we go on our date now?”

I stared at his hand for a while, but then took it.

At the Date Place

Jonghyun had told me to keep my eyes closed and I obeyed. I could hear grass rustling beneath my feet.

“Are we there yet Jonghyun?” I asked.

“Almost,” I could sense the smirk on his face.

“Yah! You better not be leading me into a ditch or anything!” I exclaimed.

Jonghyun chuckled, “Now why would I do that?”

“For your own amusement,” I hissed.

He chuckled again, at my anger, “As much as I'd like to mess with you, I'd rather have you on a happier side for our date.” We took a couple more steps forward, “Okay and stop. Open your eyes.”

I did as he said. Before me was the exact place where Jonghyun had asked me out sophomore year. There was a picnic blanket rolled out, lit candles, and a couple of small heart-shaped chocolates. I started slowly moving towards the blanket. I sat down and stared out into the lake, replaying the scene of Jonghyun's confession in my head.

“So _____ do you like it?” Jonghyun asked.

I nodded my head. But the truth was I have no idea how I really feel about it. I feel numb. Because once I started remembering the confessions, I suddenly remembered how we broke up later. The same numb feeling, the aching pain still spread throughout my body. A tear rolled down my face.

Jonghyun automatically sensed that that was no tear of joy, “_____,” He moved closer to me, sincerely concerned.

“Jonghyun?! ______?!” I turned around at the sound of my name. There before me was Se Kyung and Taemin. I got a better look at their outfits. Taemin looked simply handsome in his outfit. Se Kyung looked even more diva, if possible.

“Taemin Oppa~ Let's hang out with Jonghyun and ____, neh?” Se Kyung pouted at him.

He nodded his head. Se Kyung jumped for joy and ran over to us, happily plopping herself down on the blanket. I hoped a candle would burn her happiness. But then again, fire can't harm the devil...

“Wow, Jonghyun set this up? Nice,” Se Kyung swooned.

“How is your date with Taemin going?” Jonghyun asked her.

“Good Oppa~ Taemin is really sweet and nice and kind. We were just taking a walk after he brought me to an amusement park. We even went on a Ferris Wheel.”

Amusement Park. I looked over at Taemin, who had just sat down on the blanket, and a pain hit my heart. The reason for the pain? I have no idea. Was I jealous at the fact that he took Se Kyung there too? Sure, it's not THAT special of a place, but it's where I shared my first kiss with Taemin. My heart broke at the though of Taemin and Se Kyung kissing.

“You took her to the Amusement Park?” I asked Taemin. He nodded. “How was it?”

“Awesome! I love hanging out with Tae Oppa. He's really considerate.” She gushed. Okay, Se Kyung, I was not asking you.

For once, I sincerely smiled and said, “I know.” Taemin glanced at me.

“Jjong,” Se Kyung turned to Jonghyun, “What have you done with ____ so far? You aren't cheating on me are you?”

“I wouldn't do that,” Jonghyun lifted up her chin to meet his gaze.

“I know I trust you,” She smiled, “It's her I don't trust,” I rolled my eyes. “So why are you guys here anyway?”

“Just to sit out and look at the lake,” Jonghyun replied.

“That's it? That's not very romantic. Taemin did better than you oppa~” Se Kyung stuck out her tongue.

“I know not romantic at all. Dates should be at a place with meaning right?” I asked Se Kyung. She nodded. “Jonghyun does this place have meaning to you or is it just a place to sit out and look at the lake?”

Jonghyun didn't reply. I know he couldn't, his girlfriend was there.

I sighed got up and walked towards the lake. The breeze felt nice, refreshing, allowing me time to myself. I began to take a stroll along the lake.

“Taemin oppa!~ Piggy back ride? I wanna get a closer look at the lake.” I turned my head around to watch as Taemin happily helped her up, the smile on his face killed me. However, I didn't notice that I was walking right into the lake.

“AHH!” I screamed as I suddenly slipped and fell into the lake water.

“_____!” Jonghyun comes splashing in. He reaches out his hand, “Are you okay?”

“Yeah I'm fine, thanks,” I reach for his hand, but managed to slip again, pulling him into the water too.

Jonghyun was hovering over me. Flashbacks of his confession came back to me. The same chill from the mud underneath me. The light waves brushing against my body. I stared into his eyes, those eyes that I once was so familiar with. The still rock-hard body gently against mine.

HONK HONK! I heard the noise of a tour boat.

“And to your right you can see an embarrassed couple soaking wet. No swimming in the lake you guys!”

A couple people from the audience whistled and hollered, clapped and cheered.

Flustered, I shoved Jonghyun off, making him practically fully submerged in the shallow water. I got up, feeling my face heat from embarrassment.

Before I could storm off, Jonghyun grabbed my arm and yanked me down onto his lap. He wrapped his arms around my waist.

“Hm? Someone's embarrassed,” He chuckled.

“Shut up,” I huffed.

His voice became gentle, “This place has meaning to me, ____. So much meaning to me. That is why I picked our date to be here. To try to make it like old times. Whenever I come here, I always replay that day when I confessed to you. We were such kids then. Everything was new, true, and pure. But then I went and messed everything up. I-”

“Jjong! Are you okay?!” Jonghyun sat me down next to him instead of on his lap, arms still around me. I looked to see Se Kyung staring at her boyfriend concerned. She glared at me, “Why did you yank him down with you?”

“I slipped I'm sorry,” I apologized, loosened Jonghyun's grip in me and struggled to get up. My outfit had soaked up a lot of water, weighing me down. Taemin helped me out and wrapped his dry cardigan around me.

“Are you okay?” He asked, but his tone was distant. Not only that, but when I looked into his eyes I could tell something was off. His glance was cold, angry, hurt.

“I'm fine, but are you okay?” I asked.

He nodded, plainly.
