Bae mansion

Bae Irene is a daughter and sole heiress of successful businessman in Korea. After graduate from university, she joined her father company. Currently she is leading RV Group of Companies as Managing Director. Her parent is proud of her and they have good relationship with each other. Even they are busy working; they will have time to spend at home and bonding. Irene is close with her cousins, Park Chorong and Jung Eunji. All of them are only child in their family so they spend time a lot when they are free.

After done dress up, Irene go downstairs to have breakfast. Before she go to dining table, she head out to front door

“Good morning Mr. Kang!” she greet her driver with cheerful voice

“Aigooo, good morning Ms. Bae, are you done?” Mr. Kang reply with fatherly smile as he stop wiping the car

“Not yet, I still need to breakfast”

“Oh, I thought you will go early today”

“I will go to office with Chorong so you don’t need to drive me. Only send my food later in the afternoon then pick me up in the evening”

“Okay, since you don’t need me this morning, I will send this car to service center later”

“Alright, appa already give you money for the service?”

“Yes, he gave me yesterday”

“Okay then, see you later”

Irene returned inside to eat while waiting for her cousin to arrive. Park Chorong is Irene personal assistant while Jung Eunji is her private secretary. Mr. Kang is generally an assistant of Mr. Bae but since Irene start working, he also work for her whenever she need him. He started working with Bae family almost 20 years already and started as Mr. Bae driver but now his work scope is widened. Bae family treat him nicely not only him but his family also treated well. They provide cozy house for Mr. Kang and his family, buy a car for him so he don’t need to ride motorcycle and give scholarship to Mr. Kang son. Irene never meet Mr. Kang son in person but her father talked a lot about him. That boy used to come to event or party at their mansion but they never have chance to meet ea. According to Mr. Bae, that boy is a good person, respectful, clever and very handsome.

“Joohyunie, are you finished breakfast?” Chorong asked as she appear at the dining room

“Ahh yes, I’m done. Have you eaten? Where is Meungji?” Irene asked when she don’t see Eunji around

“I ate already. Eunji is outside talking with Mr. Kang”

“Okay, let me get my stuff first then we head out”

“Alright” Chorong tailing behind Irene as they walk to living room

After pick her bags, both of them walk to front door. Eunji and Mr. Kang still chatting with each other when both of them come to the porch

“Good morning” Eunji greet with wide smile

“Good morning” Irene reply

Suddenly, a sound of motorcycle stop at the gate distracted them. Everyone look at the direction. A guy on a big bike pushed a visor of his helmet showing his monolid eyes. They assumed that is Mr. Kang son since their eyes look same with each other

“Appa!” he addressed Mr. Kang and waving his hand

“Aigoooo Kang Seulgi!” Mr. Kang run to his son and they speak for a while

“Oh, that is his son” Chorong said

“He must be handsome” Eunji comment

Irene shake her head and practically glare at her cousin “Aigooo these two”

Before Eunji and Chorong answer, Mr. Kang return while his son leave

“Mr. Kang, is that your son?” Eunji quickly asking

“Yes, he is my son”

“His big bike look cool” Chorong remark

Mr. Kang chuckle “That is his favorite transport. He just let his car rot at home. He prefer big bike to go to work”

“What is his name?”

“Kang Seulgi”

“He must be handsome” Eunji said shamelessly

“Aigooo, I won’t let him know that you praise him. He will be full of himself” they laughing

After that, they excuse themselves to go to office. Irene sit at the back while Eunji drive for them and Chorong at front seat. Eunji and Chorong still gossiping about Mr. Kang son while Irene just listen to her cousins. She don’t have any point when talk about men so she prefer listen to their banters

“Unnie, I really hope we can meet that Seulgi boy one day. He looked so cool” Eunji said

“I agree, I think he took after his father. Mr. Kang have good look that his son inherit” Chorong answer then she look over her shoulder “Rene, what do you think?”

“Think of what?” Irene asked

“Mr. Kang son took after his look, isn’t it?”

“How do you sure? We not see his face yet”

“Ayy, his eyes can tell. We don’t need to see his face to confirm that he is handsome” said Eunji

Irene shrugged her shoulder “I will not give any comment until I see his face to face. I don’t like guessing”

Both girls at the front groan annoyingly “You such a mood breaker” Irene laugh at them

One day, Irene is ready to go to office as usual. After done with her breakfast, she go outside but she frowned when she noticed a different figure sit at the car hood back facing her. That person seem busy with phone and don’t noticed her presence

“Ehem” Irene clear to gain that person attention

“Hello Ms. Bae, I am Kang Seulgi, son of Mr. Kang” Seulgi introduce himself with manner

“What are you doing here Seulgi-ssi?”

“I come as my appa replacement. He is out of town with Mr. Bae so I will on your service until they return”

Irene startled as she not expect that Seulgi will replace his father “I thought they will call the company driver. What about your work?”

Seulgi smile “Don’t worry Ms. Bae, everything under control. Drivers at your company are fully booked so that’s why I’m coming”

“Seriously?”

“I’m just kidding. Mr. Bae asked me to take care of you so here I am today. Until my appa return, you can call me if you need anything regardless time and place. I will come running” Seulgi speak in serious manner so Irene not doubts him

Irene nods her head “Okay if you say so”

“Shall we go now Ms. Bae?”

“Yes sure”

“You usually seat at the front or back?” Seulgi asked before open the door

“Usually at the back but today I feel like sitting at the front”

“Okay then” Seulgi open front door for Irene and close it carefully after she enter. Then he hop inside driver seat and they leave the mansion

Both of them are silent as they don’t have topic to talk about. Sometimes Irene steals a glance at Seulgi, she admiring Seulgi who looked so cool when driving. He looked really manly and handsome from his side profile

‘No wonder Chorong and Eunji crazy at you’ Irene thought

Suddenly Seulgi phone ringing, he answer it and put it on loudspeaker. The caller is his best friend, Son Seungwan

Seulgi: Hello

Seungwan: Yah Kang Seulgi!

Seulgi: Please speak with manner, idiot. I’m not the only one who listens to you

Seungwan: I told you don’t use loudspeaker because I tend to curse a lot

Seulgi: I’m driving now. What do you want?

Seungwan: Hey, what are you doing today? You suddenly take few days leave and don’t tell me or Namjoo about your absence

Seulgi: I work part time

Seungwan: Hey dumb bear, your salary is more than enough to support yourself. Why do you need to do part time job and it not suppose to happen on office hour? Don’t try to fool me

Seulgi: You’re fooled without I fool you. Dearest Son Seungwan, I replace my appa to drive Ms. Bae to her office. Not only that but I will do anything whenever she need me

Seungwan: *laughing* you sound like a devote boyfriend

Seulgi: I used to be one, don’t I?

Seungwan: Yeah right, the most devote boyfriend in town but sadly not appreciated

Seulgi: hey, you don’t need to say that. You’re just embarrassing me. Stop talking now, I want to focus driving. I need to make sure Ms. Bae arrive safe and sound

Seungwan: Alright, good luck with your part time job!

Seulgi: Alright, bye!

Irene smiling while listened to Seulgi and his friend conversation. They dissing each other early in the morning

“Ms. Bae, sorry for the noisy morning, my friend is very loud” Seulgi immediately apologize

“It’s okay Seulgi-ssi, I don’t mind”

“Thanks Ms. Bae”

“No problem”

“Ms. Bae, can you just call me Seulgi? I not used with honorific”

“Okay, I will just call you by your name”

“Yes, that’s good”

They arrive at the office building safely. Chorong and Eunji are waiting for Irene at the main entrance. They not expect that Seulgi will drive Irene to the office. When Seulgi come out to open the door for Irene, they surprise seeing him and they don’t recognize him

“Bye Ms. Bae, see you later” Seulgi showing goofy smile

“Okay, drive safely. You can rest at home. Come again to send my lunch” said Irene

“Alright” Seulgi return into the car while Irene walks to her cousins

“Yah, what’s with you two? Are you seeing things?” Irene waving her hand in front of Chorong and Eunji. Their mouths open slightly due to shock because of the scene

“Who…who is that man earlier?” Eunji stutter

“Don’t tell us that is your boyfriend” Chorong added

Irene cackle and decide to fool around “What if he is my boyfriend? What you two will do?”

“I will ask him how he get you because Irene that we know not easy to catch”

“Did he cast spell on you so that you accept him?” Eunji asked innocently

Irene can’t help but burst out laugh “If you want to know about him, you can ask him later when he comes to bring my food. I’m not in mood to eat outside today. You can take that chance to interview him”

“Not bad”

“Let’s go upstairs. I need my schedule today” Irene lead them inside the building

“I prepared today’s schedule and it’s not pack. I will read it for you later. You can have time to settle the documents in your office” Chorong said

“Good, I want to finish everything for this week so I can start review new document next week. I want to rest this weekend. This week really tiring”

“It’s really long week” Chorong sighed

“Shall we hangouts tomorrow? I mean chilling after tiring week”

“Not bad” Irene and Chorong agree with Eunji idea

“Great, I will find a good place where we can relax”

“Evening is better so we can watch sunset” Chorong said

Seulgi humming random song as he casually enter the building. He is on his way to send Irene food for her lunch. He noticed that lot of people was looking at him and some girls squealing admiring him. He used to face that kind of situation so it not bothering him a lot. He is pretty popular anywhere he goes because of his handsomeness. Not to mention if Seungwan and Namjoo come with him, they practically surround by girls if they are together

Arrived at level 29 where Irene office located, he slowly walk out of the elevator and reading the map in his phone that his father send him this morning. Last night, he spent good one hour listening to his appa not-so-called briefing about Ms. Bae and office building

“Turn right and…there she is” he mumbles when he saw 2 desks in front of Irene office. One is on right side and another one is on left. It exactly same as his appa told last night

“Hello” he greets the girl with soft voice. He read her name that was written on name sign on the desk. She is Jung Eunji, Bae Irene’s private secretary

Eunji startled when she hear a man voice greet her. When she lifted her head up, she gasped seeing a man from this morning that drive Irene to office

Seulgi waving his hand in front of Eunji who froze with ajar “Hello? Ms? Are you okay?”

The frozen Jung finally back to her sense and take deep breath “Ahh yes, I’m okay”

“Are you seeing things?” Seulgi asked

“Nope, don’t worry. I’m fine”

“Okay then, next time calm down if you see someone handsome. It’s not healthy. You might lose your precious life” Seulgi teasing Eunji

“Are you made fun of me?” Eunji glare at mischievous bear

Seulgi cackle “No, I just gave you friendly reminder”

“Aishhh, who are you and what are you doing here?”

“I am Kang Seulgi and I’m here for Ms. Bae” Seulgi showing food pack that he bring for Irene

Eunji jaw drops again because she not expects that Kang Seulgi appear in front of her in person “You’re…Kang Seulgi?”

“Yep, I bet you also know my father, right?”

“Yes, I know him. By the way, I am Jung Eunji. Irene Bae’s private secretary. That is Park Chorong, her personal assistant”

Seulgi turn to other side to look at Chorong then she smile at him. Seulgi smile back then he winks made Chorong startled and blushing hard

“I don’t know that appa is working with beautiful girls” Seulgi remark then he casually walk to Chorong with seductive smile “Hi there”

“H-hi” Chorong stutter

“The name is Kang Seulgi”

“Nice to meet you” Chorong manage to compose herself

They shake hand but Seulgi not let Chorong hand go yet “You’re so beautiful”

“T…thanks” once again the personal assistant face flush

Eunji clearing disturbing their moment “Mr. Kang, are you hitting on my cousin?”

“I guess so” Seulgi answer boldly “Ms. Park, are you single?”

“Why do you want to know?”

Seulgi shrug his shoulder “Maybe we can get to know each other more if you still alone”

“Wow, I don’t know you’re that bold”

“Well, I am Kang Seulgi”

“Mr. Kang, you can enter now. Ms. Bae is waiting” Eunji said after receive signal from Irene

“Alright” then Seulgi look at Chorong again “Ms. Park, I don’t believe in love at first sight but I will take second sight later to see if I really fall for you or not” Chorong and Eunji jaw dropped hearing Seulgi boldness. They never meet someone as bold as Seulgi before this

After flirt with Chorong, Seulgi go inside not waiting for their respond. Irene sitting on the couch waiting for her food delivery

“Hello Ms. Bae, good afternoon” Seulgi very polite unlike when he is outside just now

“Good afternoon Seulgi, have a sit” Irene said

“Thank you” Seulgi put the paper bag on the table “This is your food”

“Thanks” Irene take out the containers from the bag

“You eat a lot, huh?”

Irene chuckle “Who said I eat this alone?”

“Oh, are you eating with Ms. Park and Ms. Jung?”

“Nope, they will eat outside today”

“So you have a visitor? I think I should go now” Seulgi think maybe Irene boyfriend will come over to eat together with her

“I will eat this with you that why I called my maid to pack extra food for today” Irene give a container that filled with rice to Seulgi

Seulgi looked confused but he still accept it “So, appa will eat with you if he send your food here?”

“Nope”

“Then I…”

“You’re exception because you not actually working for me. You just replace your dad so I think I should do something to thank you for giving your time for me and abandon your work. This is lunch invitation because I don’t have time to go out to treat you”

“Oh I see, you should tell me early. Luckily I not eat anything yet. Thanks for lunch treat”

“No problem, enjoy your food”

“You too” they start eating

Seulgi as usual enjoy the food in front of him except the veggies. He just eat meat and ignore the veggies

“You not eating veggies?” Irene asked

“No, I don’t like it”

“Aigooo, it’s good for your health” Irene take the veggies from Seulgi container as she don’t want to waste it

“I’m not fans of veggies” Seulgi said “Ms. Bae, appa said you not eat chicken”

“Yes, I used to have indigestion after eat chicken so I stop eating it until now”

“Aigooo, such a rare thing” Seulgi feel sympathy towards the boss

“What to do, right?”

“Yeah” Seulgi nods his head “Ms. Bae, do you want to drink anything? I will go down to buy it”

“Don’t need to go down, just go to the pantry outside. We have lot of drinks in the fridge”

“Alright, so what do you want? I will get for us”

“Just plain water is good”

“Okay, I will go now”

While Seulgi go out to get their drink, Irene cleans the table and put the container inside the bag. Few minutes later, Seulgi come back with sheepish smile

“Why do you look so happy?” Irene accept a bottle of water from Seulgi

“I joking around with Mr. Jung and Ms. Park” Seulgi take sit on other couch

“Oww, you guys are good friend now?”

“Maybe, I flirt with them earlier” Seulgi said bluntly. Irene choked her drink because of Seulgi then he quickly help her with tissue “Omo, Ms. Bae, are you okay?”

Irene coughs a bit “I’m okay” she calmed down “What are you saying just now? You flirt with them?”

“Yep” Seulgi nods his head like a kid “I told Ms. Park that I don’t believe love at first sight but I will look at her again at second sight to check if I really fall for her”

“Aigooo, what happen after that?”

“Nothing, I’m just being playful. You know I just get rid of awkwardness with them”

“I thought you flirt for real”

Seulgi giggle “Don’t worry Ms. Bae, I’m not that fast. I’m pretty popular in town but it’s not that easy to get me”

“Okay then” Irene smile

“Ms. Bae”

“Yes”

“Since I friend with both of them, can I be your friend too?” Seulgi sincerely asking

“Sure, no problem” Irene answer with big smile

“Aigoo, thanks Ms. Bae”

“No problem. Since you’re my friend, if I want to hangout you must go with me”

“Is it kind of my part time job?” Seulgi joking

“Isn’t it what friend supposed to do? Hangouts together, eat together, play around”

“I know Ms. Bae, I just kidding. You can call me anytime you want to go out or whenever you need me. I will make time for you. It’s not a big problem unless I’m outstation then it’s something that I can’t control”

“Promise?”

“Yup, I promise” they make pinky promise like Seulgi wanted. It’s a bit childish but Irene just plays around as she found it cute at the same time. She doesn’t have boy friend, just acquaintance at university so Seulgi is the first boy that closes to her as friend. Her only close friends are her cousins

“Bye Ms. Park & Ms. Jung!” Seulgi waving his hands before he enter the car after he close door for Irene

“Bye!” Chorong and Eunji wave back entertain by Seulgi antic

“You’re very happy surround by pretty girls, huh?” Irene teasing Seulgi after he start driving

Seulgi just giggle “I’m comfortable with them even we just meet each other”

“That’s good then”

“Did you mother call you today?” Seulgi questioned

“No, why?”

“She called me earlier”

Irene furrowed her eyebrows “What she said?”

“She want me to sleep at your mansion until they come back from trip” Seulgi stated

“You’re serious now, right?”

“Yes, you can call her for confirmation”

“Okay, I trust you but where you will sleep?”

Seulgi slowly turn to Irene as he didn’t believe what he just heard “I can’t believe that your mansion don’t have guest room or something. I can just sleep at the porch or in the car”

Irene mentally slap herself “Sorry, I just in a daze. I never alone at home with a guy”

“I can’t help it. It’s your mom request. Don’t worry, I never have criminal record like , murder or robbery. You will be safe with me. They entrust you to me so I will take care of you. That’s my promise”

Irene smile in relief and she also trust Seulgi “Okay, I trust you”

They have early dinner since the maids already cook their foods. After that both of them do their own business. Irene rest in her room while Seulgi watching TV at living room. He ask Irene permission before doing anything even Irene told him to make himself at home

Seulgi is still watching late night movie when Irene comes to living room in pajama. Her hair slightly messy signaling she just up from bed

“Hi” Seulgi speak first after watching Irene plop herself on the couch

“Mmm”

“Can’t sleep?”

“Yeah”

“Why?

“I don’t feel like sleeping” Irene lean against the couch and hugging the cushion. She don’t noticed Seulgi staring at her with warm smile

“Are you afraid of me?”

“What make you think like that?”

Seulgi shrugged his shoulder “Just in case since you said you never alone with stranger at home except with your maid. Don’t worry, if I hurt you or doing something bad you can lodge police report”

Irene tilted her head to look at Seulgi “I told you earlier, I trust you. I just have trouble sleeping. It used to happened lot of times”

“Are you hungry?”

“How do you know?”

“I just guess randomly because I can’t sleep if I’m hungry”

“It’s one of the reasons but I don’t want to eat this late” Irene whine

Seulgi giggle “You should cheat tonight. Let get something to eat”

“No, I’m not cook”

“I will cook for you. Come on, I’m hungry too”

“Okay”

They go to the kitchen together. Seulgi told Irene to sit while waiting for him to cook ramyeon for them. He started searching for ingredients in the fridge and cabinet. He cooked like a pro while Irene watching him as she sit at kitchen islands

“I don’t know that you can cook” Irene folds her arms on the table

“Umma taught me to learn cooking so I can survive if I’m alone”

“Wow, that’s cool. So that’s mean you can cook lot of foods?”

“Yeah, but not as good as mother’s, I just learn to cook foods that I love”

“At least you can cook something for yourself”

“What about you? Can you cook?”

Irene silent for a while and she suddenly feel awkward “I-I not good at cooking”

Seulgi noticed awkwardness in Irene voice so he calmed her down “I understand your situation. You born in rich family that has maids so you don’t have chance to do these things but you can always learn if you want”

“Thanks for understand me”

“No problem” Seulgi give short smile “Our ramyeon is ready” he bring the food to the table then get bowl for them. He also served kimchi as side dish

They start eating and enjoying the food that Seulgi made. It just a simple ramyeon but for Irene it taste really good. She amaze by Seulgi capability in cooking. After watching Seulgi earlier, she admit that man look cool when cooking

“Do you always eat late night snack?” Irene start their conversation

“Yes, if I’m hungry because I can’t sleep with empty stomach”

“Do you cook?”

“If I’m not in mood to cook, I will go out to eat late night snack”

“You go alone?”

“No, I go with Seungwan and Namjoo”

“Are them your brothers?”

“No, we’re brothers-in-crime” Seulgi laugh slightly

“You should bring me out for late night snack since I’m your friend now” Irene suggest

Seulgi smile sideway “Do you never go out late at night?”

“No, if I go out at night I will come home before 10”

“Next time if you’re hungry at night, just give me a call. I will come to pick you up. I will give you tour around the town”

“Is that means you will treat me any foods that I want?” Irene joking around

“Of course, I won’t let you pay for us. I’m a man”

“Alright, alright” Irene giggle “Don’t forget tomorrow we will go out with Chorong and Eunji”

“Yeah, I remember. I will babysit 3 girls tomorrow”
