"Mom, dad I have something to tell both of you" Irene said nervously

"What is it, Joohyun?" Mrs. Bae asked

"I-I'm pregnant" Irene not dare to meet her parent gaze

"WHAT?!" Mr. Bae voice echoed the whole mansion

"I'm pregnant" Irene said again. Later, she feel hard slap on her right cheek, it was from her mother

"Who is the father?" Mrs. Bae asked angrily

"Kang Seulgi"

"The bastard that you always meet every now and then? Huh, I told you a million times already, I don't like him and I'll never accept him in this family. He's not on our level and you do not deserve someone like him!" Mr. Bae said roughly

"Dad!" Irene offend by her dad words to her boyfriend

"You dare go against my order now, hm?"

"That baby will not be accepted to this family and not supposed to have the same bloodline as us. You’re carrying illegitimate child" Mrs. Bae said

"Get rid of that baby" Mr. Bae stated firmly

"Dad, no! I'll keep this baby. This is my child, my flesh and blood. Do you dare kill your own grandchild?" Irene can't believe her parent make such decision

"That is not my grandchild. I never have an illegitimate heir. Get rid of it!"

"Dad, please. You can insult me but don't tell me to do the abortion" Irene pleading with teary eyes

"Look, you can keep that child of yours but with one condition" Mrs. Bae said and her husband looking at her confusedly

"Just ask anything mom as long as this baby alive"

"You can keep that child but after the baby is born, he or she cannot step into this house. Kang Seulgi must bring the baby away from here. Illegitimate child is not accepted in this family" Irene speechless at what her mom said while Mr. Bae smile contently

"Do you agree with your mom's condition?" Mr. Bae asked

"..." Irene spacing out

"Joohyun!"

"Y-yes dad" Irene sighs deeply "I agree with mom’s condition"

"Good, tell your boyfriend that I want to see him tomorrow on 9 AM here"

"Okay dad" Irene said

"Now go to your room and don't go out" Irene obeys and leaved to her room

"Shame on her. What would people say if they know the heiress of Kwangya Group pregnant with an illegitimate child and with the man that is in the lower class? Such an ungrateful daughter! Where did she put her brain all this while?" Mrs. Bae growl and she's fuming in anger

"Such a waste that we send her to good school but her brain is rotten" Mr. Bae added

Entire day and night, Irene did nothing but cry her heart out as she think that she'll never able to against her parent decision and she'll not have a chance to see her child

Seulgi and Mr. Bae are inside the office room. The middle-age man stands back-facing Seulgi while Seulgi stands in front of his table, waiting for Mr. Bae to talk. The atmosphere is tense for Seulgi

"Kang Seulgi" Mr. Bae said without turn his face to Seulgi

"Y-yes Mr. Bae"

"You know why I called you to come, right?"

"Yes"

"And you know that you're not suited to our level, isn't it?"

"Yes"

Mr. Bae turns around and gives him the arrogant gaze "Yesterday my wife gave Joohyun two options: either she abort the baby or you take that child away from us after Joohyun delivers. She choose to let you bring your baby" Seulgi shocked as he heard what Mr. Bae said "Now I want to ask you. Do you agree to bring that illegitimate child far away from us or the child will never be born to this world?"

It takes a few minutes for Seulgi to respond to Mr. Bae. He can't help but agree to the decision. He doesn't want to lose his child. That unborn child is innocent

"I'll take my child away from here after the baby born" Seulgi answer

"Okay but you must remember that it doesn't mean you'll take Joohyun too. You know that she's heiress of KWANGYA and she deserve someone who're much better than you"

"I know Mr. Bae"

"Good"

After talking about few things that Seulgi need to follow, Mr. Bae told Seulgi to leave

Seulgi walks lifelessly to the café where he works. Currently he works at Black Velvet Cafe. Someone grasp his wrist and drag him to worker lounge

"Seul, what happened at Bae mansion?" Moonbyul asked worriedly

"I bet something bad happened that makes your face grumpy like this" their friend, Kim Jisoo said. She sits across to Seulgi

Seulgi heaves loud sighs and spills out everything that he talked with Mr. Bae earlier. Everyone gasped and couldn't believe what they just heard. That man was so cruel. Thankfully Seulgi choose the right decision

"They are evil and heartless" Solar said

"Money make them think they are capable to conquer the world and do everything they want" Seungwan added

"Seul, do you allow to meet Irene noona for now?" asked Moonbyul

"Yes, she'll move into my apartment tomorrow because her mother doesn't want me in their mansion. You know I'm not deserve to live at that place"

"That's good then. At least you don't need to breathe the same air as them every day" Jisoo said

"You’re right" Seulgi nods his head. His mind is in a chaos right now

Irene moved into the Seulgi apartment. She's happy because she can spend time with the man that she loves dearly. She knows their time together is short. She wants to treasure every moment that she has with him. Her heart breaks into pieces when she thinks about her child that she carried since two months ago. Every night she prays that a miracle can happen and her parents accept her little family. She hope that their heart change after they saw their first grandchild born to the world

Her train of thought was cut by someone holding her shoulder. That person is no other than Seulgi "Baby" she caressed Seulgi hand softly

"What made my princess not notice my presence?" Seulgi give his girlfriend back-hugged and peck her cheek

"I think about us, about you and our baby" Irene lean her back against Seulgi chest

"Don't think too much. It’s not good for you and baby"

"I'm sorry" Irene voice cracked and she on verge of crying

"It okay" Seulgi kissed Irene temple

"Honey"

"Yes baby?"

"Can you promise me something?"

"What is it?"

"If one day I can't be with you and our baby, promise me that you'll raise our baby well and take care of the baby like you take care of me. Love our child as you love me" Irene let her tears fall down as she spill out what is in her mind

Seulgi turned Irene around and wiped her tears then kissed her forehead "No matter what, we'll be together as a family that we dream for. If we're separated, we can meet secretly and spend time with our baby together. Our baby need mommy too"

"It's impossible, Seul. I don't want our baby to get hurt physically or emotionally. I know how heartless my parents can be so I can't guarantee that we'll live together. I hope their heart softened but it just a hope" Irene cry wetting Seulgi shoulder

Seulgi shut his eyes and his tears fell down "Okay, I'll take care and love our baby more than I love myself. I'll keep my promise" both of them sobbing in each other embrace

"Thank you, baby" Irene said under her sobs

"I love you"

"I love you too" both of them stay in that position for few while

"Earth to Seulgi" Seungwan snapped his finger in front of Seulgi making the spacing out guy flinch

"What?" Seulgi glare at Seungwan who grin mischievously

"Seul, why do you look stressed? Is there something wrong?"

Seulgi let out heavy sighs "I think about Joohyun and baby"

"Mind telling me?"

"Joohyun is in a depressed state sometimes, you know. Doctor said it is not good for our baby"

"Her pregnancy is in the 6th month now, right?"

"Yes"

"I hope noona and baby will be healthy. I feel sorry for all of you. Why does God not give a smooth path for your little family to be together? I worry more about the future baby. But don’t worry, Seul. Our friends and our friends got your back. No matter what happen, we’ll always be with you” Seungwan pats Seulgi’s shoulder

"Thanks Wan"

"Seul, smile please. Daddy-to-be should smile so that the baby and mom will be happy too" Seungwan try to cheer up his friends

Seulgi chuckled and hit Seungwan arm with towel "Silly"

"That's it. Smile man, cheer up" Seungwan clapped her hands. Solar shout from the counter seeking for help and both of them quickly go to her

Seulgi and Irene cuddling on the couch while watching TV. Doorbell ringing distracting them

"Let me open it" Seulgi quickly walk to the door

"Seulgi!" Seulgi eyes widened as he saw his friends visit them and carrying shopping bags

"Yah, why don't you tell me you all want to come?" Seulgi invite them in

"We want to surprise you and Irene" Solar said

"Hello unnie/noona" they happily greet Irene

"Hello everyone"

"How are you today, noona?" Seungwan asked

"I'm fine"

"How was the baby? No morning sickness?" asked Eunbi, Seungwan’s girlfriend

"Baby also fine. I still have morning sickness but not bad”

"We can't wait to see our future niece or nephew" Solar caressed Irene tummy

Seulgi came with drinks that he made and Jisoo quickly helped him "Where are you all from?" Seulgi asked

"We're from the mall. Shopping for baby stuff" Eunbi answered

"Baby stuff?"

"Yes, for your baby"

"Aigoo, thanks guys" Seulgi smiled

"No problem, Seul" Moonbyul patted Seulgi shoulder

"We bought a random item for the baby. We hope you like it, Rene" Solar and Jisoo give the bag to Irene and the mommy-to-be smile widely

"Thanks everyone. All of these are cute"

"Be happy Irene-ah. Leave the stressful thing behind, alright?" Solar caressed Irene hair

"Alright"

"Remember, if you have something to say and you want to share with someone other than Seulgi oppa, just call us. We'll lend our ear" Jisoo said

"Sure" three of them hugging each other and the men watching them happily

Irene sits at the balcony in the evening and she caresses her tummy. She smiled as she felt her baby kicking inside

"Baby, do you miss daddy? He'll come home quickly and kiss you, okay? Mommy also missed daddy so much" she saw a drop of liquid fall on back of her hand and that was her tears

"Be a good boy for daddy, okay? When you grow up, study hard and make daddy happy. Build a good future for daddy and probably your new mom. Mommy sure all of you will be happy. Even mommy can't stay with you as you grow up, mommy always loves you. You're my strength to go through thick and thin things that will happen in future. No one day mommy stops praying so that you'll grow up healthily and smart as the other kids out there. Make good friends with everyone, play well, don't fight, study hard and succeed in your life. You're my little hero, baby boy" her tears streaming down as waterfall and she does not bother to wipe it. She let out all burden that inside her heart and she felt her baby give respond as he can feel the sadness that she bear that time

"One more month then mommy has to leave for your safety and happiness. Mommy has to. Mommy will miss you and daddy, honey. When this rain stops, I hope we will be together again”

Irene is sitting on the couch when Seulgi arrives at home. She walks to front door to greet him with her baby bump

"Baby, don't move a lot" Seulgi quickly go to his girlfriend

"Seulgi, it's not like a baby will fall down if I move" Irene chuckled at how protective Seulgi is to her since the baby bump is growing. He never let her do anything when he's at home and calling her almost every one hour to make sure she's doing fine at home when he's working

"I don't want you to get tired" Seulgi walk Irene to the couch

"How’s work?" Irene nuzzling to Seulgi neck

"Everything is fine. Everyone say hi to you"

"It's been a while since they visit us"

"They are busy. What are you doing today?"

"I talk with baby" Irene giggles

"Aigoo, my boy can talk with mommy now?" Seulgi caressed the baby bump and kissed it

"He missed you badly I think"

"Is he kicking?"

"Yes, always"

"He can't wait to comes out"

"I think so"

It was due for Irene to deliver her baby. She only took two hours inside the labor until the baby was born. Seulgi is really happy since he got a boy for his first child. Irene is also happy as well. They forgot that they'll face separation since the baby was born. Their time for together was reach the end

Mr. and Mrs. Bae rushed to the hospital as soon as they got news about Irene. When they went to the nursery, they saw Seulgi stand by the glass panel, adoring his child. His face looks bright and smile widely

"Kang Seulgi"

Seulgi turned to his side when he heard someone addressed his name "Yes Mr. Bae?"

"You know what you're supposed to do since your child was born, right?"

Seulgi sighs "Yes"

"Good, just go away from Joohyun sight and don't ever come to see Joohyun with that child of yours"

"Don't worry. I won't let them see each other"

"Good" Mr. Bae took something from his wife "This is as our thanks for obey to our orders"

Seulgi wondered when he got the envelope from Mr. Bae "What is this?"

"Bucks, for you to support your child" Mrs. Bae said

Seulgi chuckled "Sorry Mrs. Bae but I can't accept this and I'll never accept it. I have my own savings for my son and it is enough for me to support him. I don't need your money or anything from you. Even if we barely have money to support our life, I'll never beg for your sympathy. You let Joohyun keep the baby is good enough for me. Now if you excuse me, I'll go take my son home" Seulgi leaves the couple speechless. He also not forget to give back the envelope to Mr. Bae

When Seulgi walk at the hallway, he bump into the doctor who in charge of Irene and their baby

"Dr. Roseanne Park"

"Hey Mr. Kang" the doctor walk towards Seulgi with wide smile "Congratulations on your baby boy"

"Thanks doctor. Em, are you free right now? I want to talk to you for a while”

"Yes. Let go to my office"

"Alright"

They go to Dr. Roseanne's office and sit on the couch "What is it Mr. Kang?"

"You know the issue between me and Irene Bae, right?"

"Yes"

"I need your help to give this to her" Seulgi hand a brown envelope to Dr. Roseanne

"Okay, I'll give her when I check her later"

"Make sure her parent is not around when you give it to her"

"Sure, don't worry"

"I can bring my baby back today, right?"

"Yes, your baby is healthy so you can bring him home"

"Thanks doctor"

"If you need help in attending him, just ring me anytime. I'll lend my help" the doctor give name card to Seulgi

"Noted. I have to go now"

"Alright, stay strong Mr. Kang. One day everything going to be fine"

"Thanks for your concern. I’ll do my best to be a good father to my son" Seulgi smiled and Dr. Roseanne walk him to the door

Eunbi, Solar and Seungwan come to the hospital to fetch Seulgi and his son while Moonbyul and Jisoo wait for Seulgi at home. They go to the ward where Seulgi and his child are located. From afar, they saw him packing their belongings. Solar have tears in her eyes seeing Seulgi alone taking care of his baby

"Seul" Solar calling Seulgi then he beckoned them to come to him

"Guys"

"Are we leaving now?" Seungwan asked

"Yes, help me to carry the bags"

"Okay" Seungwan and Eunbi took the bag and basket from the table

"Let me carry the baby for you" Solar said, because she knew her best friend had never carried the baby before. She don't want to let Seulgi holding his baby when walking for safety reason

"Thanks noona"

"No problem" Solar carry the baby carefully with carrier that Irene bought so that Seulgi can carry their baby safely

"Let’s go" Eunbi said and they leave the hospital

Moonbyul jumping up and down like crazy as he saw the newborn baby "Welcome home, baby boy" he poke the sleeping baby’s cheek

"Ayy, don't make noise. You'll disturb his sleep" Solar pinch Moonbyul’s back

"I'm just happy to see him. He looks handsome like me"

"He look handsome than you, oppa" Jisoo said to her cousin

"Jealous" Moonbyul stuck his tongue out

"Seul, what is his name? Did you and noona plan it already?" Seungwan asked

"Not yet. Any suggestions?"

"You choose it. You're his father" Moonbyul said

"What about Kang Yerim?"

"That sound good" Solar said and everyone agree

"Kang Yerim, I'm your aunty~" Jisoo said and kissed the little boy cheek

"Seul, are you and noona over now?" Seungwan asked

Seulgi sighs "I guess so"

"Do you meet her after the baby is born?"

"Just once before she was transferred to a private room but then her parents didn't allow me to see her. I'm not even saying goodbye to her" Seulgi say sadly

"That's mean Joohyun is also not seeing her baby?" Solar asked in disbelief

"Yea, she not allows seeing her own son even just once" Seulgi stare at his son sadly

"Oh gosh, her parents are heartless"

"You do not try to fight for her and Yerim?" Moonbyul asked curiously

"I want to but Joohyun will not allow me. It's for Yerim safety so I just give in"

"Poor Joohyun unnie and Yerim can't see each other" Jisoo sighs

"Seul, I think you should move to my house. I can't let you and baby stay alone here" Seungwan suggest

"It's okay, Wan. We can stay here"

"Please Seul, you're alone with him here. No one looks after him if you need to do something. At least I and Eunbi can assist you. Solar noona and Jisoo also easy to come over since they stayed in nearby neighborhood"

"Okay, but we'll move tomorrow. I'm tired today"

"Sure"

"We'll sleep here tonight" Jisoo added

Dr. Roseanne entered Irene’s room. She saw Irene lay down on the bed. Her mind seem like going somewhere

"Ms. Bae" Dr. Roseanne said softly

Irene startled "Yes Dr. Park?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm okay"

"Did you eat something already?"

"Yes, a little bit"

"Don't skip your meal so that you can recover quickly"

"There is no reason for me to recover quickly" Joohyun said with flat tone

"Why?"

"The people who I love are not around so there are no reason for me to be healthy as usual"

Dr. Roseanne sits on the bed edge and facing Irene "Ms. Bae, you can't say that. I'm sure if Mr. Kang hears this, he'll not be happy. You need to be strong in order to fight for your future. Start a new life and set a goal which is to meet your son one day. You have a reason why you must be healthy and happy. The reason is your son, little Kim. Even in your situation now, it is impossible to meet him but trust me, one day God will let both of you meet each other. Every good wish will end with a good ending even if it takes time to happen" the doctor said and she squeezed Irene hand softly. She know everything about Seulgi and Irene since Irene voice out everything that make her depress so she know the whole things and feel sympathy for the couple

"Thanks doctor" Irene hugging Dr. Roseanne and cry on her shoulder

"Cry it out" Dr. Roseanne caressed Irene back

"I met Mr. Kang before he left earlier. He want me to give this to you" Dr. Roseanne give the envelope to Irene

"Okay"

"I have to go now. If you need something, call me. Take enough rest and don’t skip meal"

"Alright"

After Dr. Roseanne leave, Irene open the envelope and pull out the letter from Seulgi

Joohyunie, I'm sorry for leaving without saying goodbye to you. I want to see you before I go so that you can meet our prince but your mom and dad will not allow me even for just 5 minutes. Our baby is so beautiful, honey. His face resembles you. He sleeps a lot since he's brought to the ward. I hope both of you meet in your and his dream. As I promise to you, I'll take care of him and love him as I love you. He's everything to me as precious as you are to me. I'll not disappoint you. I'll raise him well to be a good child for us and make you proud of him when you meet him one day. I'll miss you baby and I'll always love you. Irene feels a lump in as she reads the letter and she's really upset at her parents. Her phone vibrates on her lap and she gets a message from Dr. Roseanne. It was a picture of her baby

I forgot to send this to you earlier but this is all I can get for you. It was taken after he brought home by his dad

Irene caressed the picture and she smiled warmly "Mommy loves you, baby. Daddy said you resemble mommy but mommy saw you look like daddy. Don't worry my prince, one day mommy will come to you and bring you to my embrace. Till we meet again, my love”

7 months have passed and everything goes smoothly for Seulgi and his son. Seulgi returned back to work after taking five months leave to take care of his son. Moonbyul suggests Seulgi to take a few months leave to look after his baby but he’s against it. He nagged when Seulgi rejected his idea to take a leave and take care of Yerim at home. After a few series of arguments, Seulgi gave in. He can’t win against Solar. Besides, they owned the café so no problem for him to leave as long as he needed. Seulgi is only allowed to visit the café once in a while. Seulgi come to the café with his baby when the weather is good

Meanwhile at Irene's side, she joined Kwangya two months ago. Even though she looked fine but deep inside she's still longing for Seulgi and her son. She busied herself with work to make herself not think too much about them but when she's at home, it'll happen again. Until that moment she still devastated and sometimes cried herself to sleep

Seulgi moved to a house beside Seungwan’s after two months after his son born. Coincidentally Seungwan’s former neighbor let go of that house because they moved to another city. Seungwan quickly suggested to Seulgi to buy that house before someone else took it. Since Seungwan and his neighbor are good friends, the middle-aged couple agree that Seulgi pays a low monthly installment. Seungwan and Eunbi can easily come to Seulgi house whenever he needs help with his baby. Seulgi is grateful for having kind and helpful friend who lend their help without he asked for

Today is a public holiday so Seulgi stayed at home with his baby boy. His friends will come to visit them as usual. The first one coming is Moonbyul. A scream and whimper can be heard from the living room

"Aaaaaa!! Yerim-ah, don't pull uncle’s hair. Uncle is sorry. Uncle won't take your toys again" Moonbyul scream when the little boy grab his hair because he took the toy that Yerim hold in his hand "You got it back. Don't angry, alright?" Moonbyul said and little Yerim giggle

"Aigoo, you're so cute. You'll be handsome like your uncle. Your dad is not handsome. He have small eyes" Moonbyul shower Yerim with wet kisses and the baby boy look irritating

"Don't spread bad influence to my son" Seulgi come from somewhere and step on Moonbyul finger

"Seul, it hurts!" Moonbyul whine "This father and son are so violent"

"Serve your right" Seulgi sits beside his son who is lying on the mattress "Yerimie, don't be influenced by uncle. Daddy is always handsome than him. Uncle Byul not handsome that’s why Aunty Solar don’t want to marry him”

Doorbell ringing disturbs their joke and Moonbyul open it "My baby Yerm!!" Solar squeal as she saw Yerim lying while his thumbs

"Aigoo this person is so loud" Seulgi complains but Solar ignores him. She was busy scooping the baby boy to her arms, swaying him carefully. Both of them giggle and Yerim look cheerful

"Seulgi-ah, Yerim’s milk bottles are still at our house. Eomma said she forgot to put it inside his bag yesterday" Solar said. When they are working, Seulgi will leave Yerim at Solar’s mother since Mrs. Kim doesn't have anything to do. She volunteer to babysit the baby boy after Solar said Seulgi looking for babysitter

"It's okay, noona. He has lot of bottle here plus the new one that Jisoo bought last week"

"Talking about Jisoo. Why hasn't she arrived yet?" Moonbyul said

"She went shopping with Seungwan and Eunbi. Eunbi and Jisoo want to buy new baby clothes that we saw a few days ago for Yerm. Seungwan of course become their shopping bag carrier" said Solar

"Ayy, no need to buy many things. You all just bought stuff for him last month" Seulgi said awkwardly

"It's okay. We're happy spending money for this little ball" Solar squish Yerim chubby cheek and Yerim whine

"Aunty Ji and Mama Eunbi will buy a new shirt for you, Yerm~" Solar pecked Yerim nose tip then both of them laughed "How can this little snowball be this cute?" Solar love Yerim adorable smiling face that make she want to pinch his cheeks all the time

Moonbyul, Seungwan and Seulgi sit at the wooden stool around the wooden table at the garden while watching little Yerim running at the yard with Jisoo, Eunbi and Solar. He giggles as he throwing the ball to his aunties

"Adorable" Moonbyul smile when he saw Yerim chasing Jisoo around the yard

"Like his dad" Seulgi smile proudly

"Ew" Seungwan and Moonbyul let out annoying groan

"Seul, did you see the news this morning?" Moonbyul said

"Which one?"

"About Joohyun noona" Seungwan and Seulgi looking at Moonbyul

"Oh, I saw it at morning news"

"She's going to marry a businessman from Thailand, right?" Seungwan said

"Yes" Seulgi nods

"What is his name? I forgot it" Moonbyul tapped his temple

"Limario Manoban" Seungwan answer

"Her parents' wish comes true" Seungwan and Moonbyul stare at Seulgi "They want Joohyun to marry someone who is the same status as them. Rich, have power, smart and more"

"You don't think of looking for a new mom for Yerm?" Moonbyul questioned

"No, I want to raise him alone. Maybe someday but not for now"

"Don't worry bro, we'll help you to raise him. He's like our son already" Seungwan pats Seulgi shoulder and Moonbyul agree with him

"Thanks guys, I owe you all so much"

"No worry, we're brothers so your happiness will be our happiness too"

"Byul hyung is right" they giggle

Jisoo come to them with Yerim in her arms while Eunbi and Solar tailing behind

"Dad-dy~" Yerim call his dad and Jisoo pass him to Seulgi

"Yes baby"

"He want to sleep I think" Solar said

"Aigoo my boy, let wash up first then sleep" Seulgi said and bring his son to the house

"Time flies so fast. Yerm is two years old now. It felt like yesterday we heard him cried and babbling his language" Moonbyul chuckled

"Yes and his mom getting married this weekend" Eunbi said

"Seulgi knows about the news?" Solar asked

"Yup, he saw it at news this morning" Moonbyul answer

"Poor Yerm never felt his mom love" Seungwan said sadly

"This all because of his grandparent selfishness" said Eunbi

"I hope one day they'll see how adorable is Yerim and how much they miss him grown up" said Jisoo

"But I hope they'll never meet at all. Yerim don't need to know about them" Solar snort

"Aigoo Yerimie, you're big boy now" Seungwan carrying Yerim as they enter the café and that four years old boy cling to Seungwan like koala

"Mama Eunbi said I'm baby" Yerim whine

Since his dad don’t want to hear him whining every day, he asked if I can bring his to kindergarten whenever this kid say he want to go to school. He not come every day and his name also not registered yet”

"He is smart and adorable kid” Tiffany chuckle while staring at Yerim
