In this ship sinking era, SEULRENE still survive ~ Author 2023

It is a chaotic morning at Kang’s house because of Seulgi’s antics. It has been three days since Irene left Seulgi with her parents and in those three days, Seulgi always throws tantrums. She doesn't want to go out of the bedroom, doesn't want to eat, doesn't want to drink medicine and sulks. However, Mrs. Kang and Krystal are always successful in turning down her ego by mentioning her daughters and wife's name. Her small family is Seulgi’s weakness. Seulgi will give in when her mother and sister bringing her wife and daughter’s name

“Seulgi, eat your food quickly. Remember that we have an appointment with Dr. Kim today. I don’t want to stuck on traffic jam” Mrs. Kang said while feeding Seulgi with food

“Eomma, why do we have to see the doctor so often? I just went to hospital last week” Seulgi frown because she’s tired going to hospital

“Do you think only one part of your body is broken? Don’t you see how many bruises and bandages on yourself? All of those broken parts have different doctors so don’t complain. It’s your own fault for making yourself go to hospital frequently”

“Hmm” Seulgi massage her nose bridge

“Karma is , Kang Seulgi” Krystal shows up from nowhere and sits across from Seulgi “I warn you already to stop cheating but maybe you don’t understand my words. Now God himself punishes you. You can’t even bring yourself to toilet, not to mention meeting your flings”

“Soojung” Mrs. Kang signaling her daughter to stop talking because she don’t want to ruin Seulgi’s mood

“Hm, I’m waiting outside if you two are done” Krystal leaving Seulgi and her mother at dining table

Mrs. Kang helped Seulgi to drink water then wiped her lips after Seulgi finished eating. Seulgi touched seeing her mother treating her softly without complain even though she often disappoint her mom

“Eomma” Seulgi hold her mom’s hand

“Yes sweetie?”

“Can you hug me?” Seulgi looking at her mother with pitiful eyes

“Of course” Mrs. Kang immediately hugged her daughter and caressed her back tenderly “Don't be sad. Everything will be fine” she whispered. Seulgi only reply with nods

“How is Seulgi today? Is she throwing a tantrum again?” Irene asks when she’s on video call with Krystal. Every day she’ll video call with Krystal to see what Seulgi is up to without Seulgi knowing. Krystal also update her about whatever Seulgi do at home

“We just arrived at the hospital to meet her physiotherapist. She throw tantrum like usual but she can’t win us” Krystal chuckle

“That’s good. Make sure you and eomma don’t let her win. Her ego should be broke forcefully”

“You’re right, unnie. I told mom to not tolerate Seulgi’s ego even though she’s not healthy. This sounds cruel but I can’t get over her behavior. By the way, when will you come back, unnie?”

“Why? Are you tired dealing with Seulgi?” Irene laughing

“I’m tired seeing her tantrum” Krystal frowning

“I’ll be back this Saturday. The ceremony will be on Saturday morning so I can go home in the evening while my team will go back the next day. One week is enough for me to leave Seulgi with you and eomma”

“Okay unnie, shall we play a bit when you come back?”

“Let's see if I have an idea. '' Both of them were laughing. They are having fun making Seulgi upset. Krystal is the most excited when Irene told her that she want to take revenge

“Sure unnie, I’m waiting”

“Alright, I got to go now. Jimin want to drink milk”

“Okay unnie, say hi to baby Jimin. Bye unnie”

“Bye Soojung”

Seulgi sits in the living room alone while watching a random TV show after her mom gives her breakfast. She just finished talking with her older sister, Yoona, on the phone. Yoona stays separately with her small family so only Krystal still stays with their parents. Krystal is still nowhere to be found. Usually she is already bothering Seulgi but this morning she hasn't seen her twin yet. Seulgi thought maybe Krystal is still sleeping since today is Saturday

“Seulgi” the name owner turn her focus from TV to her sister who just show up at living room

“What?” Seulgi annoying because Krystal disturbing her watching TV

“I already packed your clothes. We’ll go somewhere” Krystal wiggle her eyebrows

“Where are you taking me?”

“To prison”

“Yah!” Seulgi glare at her sister

Krystal laughs then she approaches Seulgi and pushes her wheelchair “I’m kidding. I’ll send you home”

“Seriously? Is Irene and the girls at home?” Seulgi sound excited

“I don’t know. Now is time for you to go home”

“Yah, what if I’m alone? Who will assist me?”

“Aishh, you’ll be fine on your own. You’re old already” Krystal rolled her eyes

“Where is eomma? We should tell her before leaving”

“Eomma goes out with appa. She know already that I’ll send you back to your house”

“Hm, okay”

Seulgi is alone at her home because Krystal leaves right away because she has to meet with her friends. To kill her boredom, Seulgi read a book that she brought from her parent’s house.  About an hour later, she heard the sound of a car engine on the car porch. She hope that will be her wife

“Daddy!” big smile formed on Seulgi’s lips when she see her younger daughter run towards her

“Aigoo, my baby” Seulgi open her left arm to welcome Karina to her embrace

“I miss you, daddy” Karina hugging her dad

“Daddy misses you too” Seulgi kissing Karina’s face “Where is Yerim unnie and mommy?”

“They still outside, taking our bags”

Few minutes later, Yerim came with luggage and her bag. She happily greeted her dad with a kiss and hug. Meanwhile, Irene goes straight to the bedroom without speaking to Seulgi. She totally ignoring Seulgi’s presence

“Where are you guys going all these while?” Seulgi asking her daughters

“I stayed with aunty Eunbi and uncle Wannie” said Yerim

Seulgi was surprised to hear her daughter answer “So you all are still in Seoul?”

The firstborn nods her head “Yes”

“Why do you not stay with daddy at grandma's house?”

“Grandma's house is far from my school so I stay with aunty and uncle like usual. My school is just 10 minutes from their house and one way from uncle’s office so it is easy for uncle to drive me to school. I also can walk, go and back from school with my friends. Some of my friends stay at same neighborhood with them” Yerim reasoning

“Hm, what about Jimin and mommy?”

“Mommy went to Bucheon for her client's wedding ceremony. Jimin go with her as usual”

“Just both of them?”

“We go with Papa Chaeng!” Karina answered excitedly “Daddy, papa Chaeng brought me to the mall and we ate a lot of delicious food. She also accompanied me to play at the playground. We bought many toys too”

Seulgi is jealous hearing her daughter excitedly talking about other people and Jimin seems close to that person. To be honest, Seulgi doesn't like her daughter to be close with someone else in terms of parents and daughter relationship. She also don’t like the mention of ‘papa Chaeng’

“Mommy don't accompany you?”

“Mommy is working but sometimes mommy goes with us. We watch movie yesterday, daddy”

The dad groaned “Yerim, may daddy know who that person is?” Seulgi try her best to control her expression

“She is mommy’s friend. Papa Chaeng is very close to us. She often picks us up at school, accompanies us playing and cooks for us if mommy is busy. Papa Chaeng is very nice. We eat a lot when we’re with her because she loves eating. She also go to my school with mommy if we have event that need parents to attend”

“PAPA CHAENG IS JJANG!” Yerim and Karina said together

“Hm”

Meanwhile, Irene is laughing silently at the stair hearing her daughter doing their task very well. Yerim and Karina are well prepared for their job desk in Irene’s revenge mission. The girls are not asking too much because Irene told them that they do this so that both of them can spend more time with daddy unlike before. Besides, it’s easy for Irene to do her mission because Seulgi doesn't know who is in her circle. Seulgi only knows Solar, Jennie, Wendy and Eunbi because they are Irene’s old friends. As for Lisa and Rose, Seulgi has no idea at all. She will use Rose and Lisa to be main characters in her revenge

This morning the Kang family had breakfast together before beginning their daily routine. Irene will go to work as usual while Yerim and Karina go to school. Seulgi just stays at home since she’s still in recovery. The girls actively talk with their dad while Irene just speaks when the topic gains her interest. She letting the girls bonding with their daddy

“Mommy, when will papa Chaeng arrive?” Yerim asked her mother. Seulgi also turn her attention to Yerim and Irene

Irene signals Yerim to wait while she checks her phone “Papa is on her way. She will arrive shortly”

“Okay mommy”

“If mommy still busy, she will pick up both of you from school”

“Okay”

“Why do you not drive Yerim to school?” Seulgi asking her wife

“I have an early meeting today so I am not able to drive her. I only can send Jimin”

“I can drive her if you can’t why would you ask someone else to do that”

Irene smirk “I don’t want to risk my daughter's safety. Shall I remind you that you are paralyzed?” she clearly see Seulgi rolled her eyes

Their talk was distracted by the sound of the doorbell “Papa Chaeng arrived!” Karina squeal happily

“Yerm, open the door for papa”

“Okay boss”

“Mom, I want to see papa Chaeng too” Karina jump from the chair and run to the front door following Yerim

Few minutes later, the girls come back with a blonde-haired woman with them. She carries Jimin in her right arm and Yerim is clingy on her left. They are happily giggling when the blonde say something to them

“Mommy, papa Chaeng is here”

“Good morning, unnie and Seulgi-ssi” Rose smiling to the couple

“Morning Chaeng” Irene answering while Seulgi ignore her

“Chaeng, have you had breakfast already?”

“Yes unnie, I ate already. I don’t want to come late so that Yerim not late to go to her school”

“Okay then”

“Shall we go now, Yerm?”

“Yes, I’ll get my bag” Yerim go to the living room to get her bag

“Baby, sit down. Papa Chaeng and your unnie want to leave now” say Irene

“No!” Karina circle her arm tightly on Rose neck when Rose want to put her on the chair “I want to go with papa and unnie”

“You don’t want mommy to drive you to school” Karina shook her head “Chaeng, is it okay if you send both of them?”

“Yes unnie, it’s fine but the reward must be extra” Rose show naughty smile to Irene

“No problem, claim at office later” Irene wink

“Alright, let’s go now sweetie”

“Let’s go!” the girls said happily

Seulgi watches their interaction with anger and disappointment. She’s disappointed seeing her daughters very clingy to someone else and angry because her wife acts like she’s not exist in front of them. Everyone leaves without looking at her. Now she is alone at home

The acting continues almost every day but Irene still makes sure they do not go overboard. She doesn't want their actions to affect her wife's mental health and will make her recovery progress slower. Not only Rose, Lisa also sometimes come to Kang’s house to play with the girls and drive them home. She also bought foods for Yerim and Karina

Today is Seulgi’s therapy schedule. She wakes up early in the morning and prepares herself to go to the hospital. After a few therapy sessions, Seulgi can slowly move herself but still needs support. She also trained herself to walk few steps when she’s alone at home so that she can quickly walk normal

“Good morning, daddy” Yerim greeted her dad with a big smile when she saw Seulgi come to the dining table in her wheelchair. She approach her dad and help her to push the wheelchair closer to the table

“Good morning, sweetie” Seulgi give peck on Yerim’s forehead before the girl sit back on her place

“Daddy, what do you want to eat…sandwich or pancake? Mommy made egg sandwich today” asked Yerim after give a cup of coffee to her dad

“Em, daddy want both”

“Alright” Yerim gave pancake and sandwich to her dad “You ate a lot today, dad. Do you go to see the doctor today?”

“Yes, that’s why daddy eats a lot. I need energy for my activity today”

“All the best for your follow-up. I hope you can walk normal so that we can do a lot of outdoor activities during our summer holiday”

“Daddy will work hard, baby. Where are mommy and Jimin?”

“Mommy is upstairs with Jimin. Jimin wake up late this morning”

Suddenly, they heard a giggling sound coming from the stairs. That is no other than a cheeky girl, Kang Jimin and her mom. Irene carrying her daughter as they walk to dining table while teasing the little girl

“Daddy, good morning!” Karina happily greet her dad

“Good morning, baby”

“Mom, I want to sit with daddy” Karina pointed at her dad’s laps

“Baby, daddy’s leg is still hurt. You can’t sit with her” said Irene

“Mommy~” Karina whining, her chin trembling signaling that she will cry anytime soon

“Hyun, it’s fine. She can sit on my laps”

“Are you sure? What if her weight will make your leg hurt again?” Irene asked worriedly

“She’s not that heavy so I’ll not hurt”

“Okay then” Irene carefully sit Karina on Seulgi’s laps then she sit on the empty chair

“Baby, what do you want to eat?” Seulgi asking her daughter

“I want to eat pancake with chocolate syrup”

“Okay” Seulgi cut the pancake to small pieces for Karina

“Daddy, feed me”

“Alright, now open your mouth”

Irene eats her food while sometimes watching Seulgi and Karina interact. The father and daughter are happily talking with each other. Yerim also joined their conversation. It has been two months since Seulgi’s accident, Irene can see how much her daughters cling to their dad. Seulgi also pampers the girls. She never says no to whatever Yerim and Karina asked her to do. They spend quality time together to the fullest. Seulgi never fails to accompany her daughters eating, watching TV, doing their homework and playing with them. She really makes it up to the time that she wasted in the past. Irene is happy seeing them laughing together. Her heart felt warmth whenever she arrived at home in the evening seeing Karina sleep soundly on top of Seulgi while Yerim used Seulgi’s left arm as her pillo
