“Dr. KANG, you’re needed to attend the urgent patient right now. She’s delivered to emergency room!” a nurse with nametag Kim Yongsun said to female doctor named Kang Seulgi

“Okay” Seulgi rushed out of her office and run to emergency along with Yongsun

Soon as she arrived inside the room, nurses and few people who come with the patience standing there

“Doctor, please save her” the female said

“What’s wrong with her?”

“She fall down from the stage during the rehearsal” said the other

“Okay”

The nurse asked them to wait outside while they make further checkup

“What is her name?” Seulgi asked while checking the girl without looking at her features

“She’s Red Velvet Wendy” one of the nurses said then the doctor immediately looked up to see the girl face. She mentally cursed after that

After few minutes checking, Seulgi sighs heavily

“We need to operate her. She suffered severe injuries on wrist, pelvis, fracture on right leg and her cheekbone. Prepare her for the operation this evening” she command “Yongsun, call Doctor Kim to my office”

“Okay” Yongsun said

Seulgi goes out to meet the people who come with Wendy

“Doctor, how is she?” their face looked worried

“We have to perform a surgery on Wendy this evening because she suffered severe injuries. Who is her family member?”

“We’re her managers. Her parents are abroad and they asked us to handle her”

“Alright, one of you comes with me to my office to sign few documents”

“Okay” one of the managers follow Seulgi to her office while the other waiting in front of the room because Wendy is still inside

Inside Seulgi office

A blonde doctor sits lifelessly on the couch upon receiving the news about her beloved girlfriend who involve in accident during rehearsal. She will be fine if it just small accident but it more than she can accept. Her girlfriend is dying because of the organizer carelessness

“Seul, you have to do your best to bring her back. I don’t want to lose her” the blonde plead under her sob

“Unnie, trust me. I will do my best that’s why I decide to operate her quickly”

“I trust you Seul”

“Don’t cry anymore unnie” Seulgi rubbed her best friend back to sooth her

“How can I not cry if my girlfriend is dying in emergency room” the older girl sobs getting hard

“Relax okay, everything will be fine” Seulgi embracing her best friend

“Thanks Seul”

“It almost time, let’s go to operation room”

“Alright”

“Wipe your tears first. I think you don’t want to let anyone see you devastated and the secret will spill out” Seulgi give tissue to the crying doctor

“I don’t care about secret anymore. Most important is Wendy safety”

“Alright, I understand love bird” Seulgi chuckle

After calm down, both of the left the office and head to the operation room

2 female managers waiting patiently outside of the operation room while the other returns to office to make a report about the accident and attend the other members who still doing their rehearsal

Red Velvet members arrived at the hospital, everyone looked worried and eyes practically puffy because they still don’t know Wendy condition

“Unnie, where is Wendy? Is she okay?” Irene asked soon as they meet their managers

“Wendy needs to operate because her injury is really serious. She injured on pelvis, wrist, leg and cheekbone” the manager said sadly

“Aigoooo” the girls sighs heavily

“When they will operate her?” Joy eyes redden

“Anytime from now, she was brought inside just now”

“Unnie, she will be okay, right?” Yeri crying in Irene embrace

“She will be okay, don’t worry” Irene cooed and keep herself strong for the members

Suddenly, a doctor who look like bear along with other doctor beside her slowly approaching them

“Dr. Kang” the manager greet them first

“Ms. Manager, I will perform surgery 20 minutes from now. This one is Dr. Kim Taeyeon, my fellow doctor. She will in charge of Wendy along with me”

“All the best for both of you doctor”

“Thank you” both doctors bow their head

“Taeyeon unnie?” Yeri immediately recognize the doctor beside Seulgi who looked sad

“Hi Yerim” Taeyeon smile shortly

“Do you know her?” Irene asking the maknae

“She is mine and Wendy unnie…good friend” said Yeri

“Oh, okay”

“Doctor, please treat Wendy well and bring her back to us” Irene said sadly

“No worry miss, we will do our best” Seulgi smile to Irene with the sweetest smile she have while Irene look away and blushing after their eyes meet for few second

“Tae unnie, are you going to operate Wendy unnie?” Yeri asked

“No, Dr. Kang not allows me. It’s only her who will do it. I will just watching her” Taeyeon answered

“Okay”

“Seul, are you sure you don’t want me to join?” Taeyeon looking at Seulgi

“Yeah, you’re trembling and I don’t want something bad happen. Just trust me. I will do well for all of you” Seulgi looking at Taeyeon then turn to the rest that was gather with them at the hallway

“Okay”

“I enter now. Pray for me and Wendy so we can come back safely”

“Okay Dr. Kang”

Seulgi bow 90 degree before she enter the operation room follow by Taeyeon who keep sighing every now and then

Everyone sit silently while waiting for doctor or nurse to come out with news about Wendy. Few hours later, the doctors come out of the room and everyone quickly go to them

“Doctor, how is she now?” the manager ask nervously

“The operation went well but we can’t give you any further information” Seulgi said

“She will be under intensive care because of the serious injury and will take 2 or 3 days to wake up” Taeyeon continue

“Can we visit her?” Joy asked

“Of course, just don’t make her stress. Even she’s not wake up yet but environment also can affect her feeling” Taeyeon answered

“We will bring the report about her injury to your company and inform the management about this tomorrow” Seulgi speak after that

“Okay doctor”

“Our nurse will bring her to private ward so everyone can visit her”

“Okay”

“Poor unnie” Yeri said

“That company must apologize for this. They shouldn’t take it easy” Joy upset

“Calm down, pray that Wendy will wake up soon” their manager said

“Okay oppa” Joy groan

Seulgi and Taeyeon come to SM Entertainment to inform the management about Wendy condition. Red Velvet member also join them at the meeting room. The doctors explained to them about Wendy and it makes them sad

“Doctor, when she will wake up?”

“I can’t guarantee it sir because her condition is not really good and when I checked her this morning, there are no sign of wake up” Taeyeon said

“Will it take long?”

“It will take like 2 or 3 days because her body started to accept the meds that we gave her. She’s strong girl”

“Thank God” they said

“Her recovery also takes time” Seulgi stated

“How long will it take?”

“Based on the result, it will take months because it involving her leg. Her leg fracture is the most serious so she can’t dance for long period of time. She also can’t do high note due to injury on her cheekbone. I hope the management can take this seriously because if careless, it might affect her health”

Heavy sighs can be heard in the meeting room and the doctors feel sorry for them “She can’t participate in any show during her recovery period and we suggest her to have bed rest”

“Okay doctor”

“We will inform all of you about her condition from time to time and she’s fully under our care. I am Dr. Kang Seulgi and this is Dr. Kim Taeyeon. If you want to ask about her, just call us anytime”

“Alright, thanks doctor”

Wendy open her eyes slowly then close it again since the room is too bright. She open her eyes again slowly to adapt with the brightness. When she try to move her body, the pain feel like hell and she can barely move. She looked around and saw a female in white coat

“Hi Wendy, you wake up already” the doctor showing beautiful eye smile and her face resemble bear

“Hi” Wendy greet weakly

“I am Doctor Kang. You’re under my care now”

“Thanks doctor” Wendy try to move her right hand but fail

“Wendy-ah, don’t move. Just stay like that calmly, okay?”

“Okay” Wendy nods weakly “How long I sleep?”

“Almost 3 days”

“Okay”

“I will call Dr. Kim who also in-charge of your case then we will check you again” Seulgi said

“Okay doctor” Wendy answer weakly

Few minutes later, Taeyeon arrive and she runs to Wendy. She shower Wendy face with kisses and of course avoid the injured part

“Baby enough, Dr. Kang watching us” Wendy hit Taeyeon arm with other hand and at the same time her face red due to embarrassment by Taeyeon childish action

“Don’t mind her, she watch it a lot these 3 days” Taeyeon sit on the bed edge

“She cries a lot when she knows that you’re injured. Her face is very ugly” Seulgi smirk evilly

“Don’t insult me in front of Wendy” Taeyeon glare at the bear

“Alright, I will insult you later” Seulgi grin like idiot “Let’s check her first then I will go to my office”

“Right, you should leave us alone here” Taeyeon get ready to do her work

“Of course, I don’t want to be third wheel”

Soon as they got the news that Wendy wake up, Red Velvet member quickly go to hospital to visit her

“Unnie/Wendy” they enter to room and Wendy greet them with smile

“Hi”

“Unnie, can I hug you?” Yeri showed puppy eyes

“I can’t Yeri-ah, sorry” Wendy answer make Yeri pout

“How are you? Is it still hurt?” Irene asked

“I’m fine and really hurt. I can’t even move my body and can’t talk like usual” Wendy practically pouts because her cheekbone is hurt “See, I can’t smile too”

“At least you wake up and we can assure that you’re safe” Joy said

“Yeah, thanks to Dr. Kim and Dr. Kang. They treat me tenderly and like I am still kid”

“I like how they treat their patience especially Dr. Kang. She really gentle even you’re still unconscious” said Irene

“Unnie, I saw you secretly stare at her at meeting room before” Yeri teasing Irene by poking her cheek

“Shut up Kim Yerim” Irene covered Yeri mouth

“Aigooo these two, doctors remind us that we can’t make Wendy unnie stress level rise” Joy pinch Irene and Yeri on cheek

“It’s okay, I’m happy seeing all of you here. I’m alone since my mom and dad go home”

“Will they come again later?” Irene asked

“Yes, they go home for lunch after mom feed me. I need to eat smashed food because of my cheekbone” Wendy practically pouting

“Poor unnie” Joy caressed Wendy hair

Taeyeon goes to Wendy room to inform her parent about their daughter current condition. When she enter, Red Velvet member also there with them

“Hi everyone”

“Hi doctor”

“Mr. Son and Mrs. Son, here I want to inform about Wendy current condition”

“Oh, is she showing improvement?” Wendy’s mom asked

“Yes ma’am but in particular part, she still need long treatment to go”

“Which part is it?” Wendy’s dad asked

“Her cheekbone is getting better now and I guess she can start to eat something like porridge but don’t force yourself to it” Wendy nodded when her secret girlfriend looked at her “Her wrist also slowly recover but still need some treatment too”

“Okay” Mrs. Son Wendy hair softly

“The parts that still need lot of care are her pelvis and leg. We still doing our best to cure the injury on her pelvis but what make us worry are her leg. The fracture is really bad and it can lead her to long break from doing anything”

“Is there any other option to treat the leg?” Joy asked

“We have last option but it’s too risky”

“Just do anything doctor as long as she can walk again”

“She can walk but can’t dance or doing something extreme in long time. I will call Dr. Kang to talk about this because she know more in this field” said Taeyeon

“Okay”

Taeyeon calling Seulgi to come to Wendy ward “She will come in few minutes”

“Okay”

“If usual treatment, how long will it take to recover?” Mr. Son ask

“Based on her injury, it will take up to 5 months but if she can make it to attend treatment and therapy, maybe like 3 months”

“Okay”

“Seul, Mr. Son and his wife ask if there is other option to treat Wendy leg so that she can recover quickly. I said we have one more way but it too risky” Taeyeon said

“She’s right sir and this choice really risky. We’re not encouraged our patient to choose this because if they can’t make it, the chance to cure fast is 50:50. There are little patient going through this surgery and just half of them can make it while the other take a year or two to walk properly again. I hesitant to let your daughter to use this because if she can’t make it, she don’t have choice but take long break or quit from entertainment”

It took long silent until Wendy’s mom talk again “Is it some kind of surgery?”

“Yes ma’am, she has to undergo surgery first then she will attend tough treatment. If it success, she will just take 1 or 2 months break only. The therapy also bit tough than usual and she must prepare physically and mentally for this”

“Do you want to choose this way, Sweetie?” Mrs. Son ask her daughter

“Let me think first mom” said Wendy

“Dr. Kang, what if Wendy want to do this, are you agree to operate her?” Mr. Son ask

“As I said earlier, I not encourage my patients to do this because it’s really risky so in my opinion, it’s better if Wendy choose normal treatment. I can help her in any other way so that she can cure faster. I worry if she can’t endure the treatment”

“I trust you to do this Dr. Kang” Wendy’s father said

Seulgi kept mum “Seul, I know you can. Please do this for Wendy” said Taeyeon

“I not confident” Seulgi massage her nose bridge

“I will help you on this surgery. We will go together again and make sure she will make it”

Seulgi silent for long period and at the same time, she looked at Wendy, her parents and her members. Everyone eyes plead her to do the surgery for Wendy and they trust her to do it

“Wendy, do you really want to do this?” she asked

“Yes Dr. Kang, I don’t mind if the treatment is tough as long as I can recover quickly”

Seulgi nods her head and sighs “Okay, we will do this and I promise you, I will bring you back in shape quickly. I will inform you again when we will perform surgery because I need full preparation”

Everyone smile in relief “Thanks Dr. Kang” they said. Taeyeon pats Seulgi shoulder happily

“Okay” after talked about few things, Seulgi leaved the room

“Thanks Dr. Kim because you helped a lot on convincing Dr. Kang to do the surgery for Wendy” said Mr. Son

“No problem sir, it’s my pleasure to find a way to cure my patient. I know how hurt Wendy now even she can move her body a little bit. I’m happy that she showing improvement and strong to against the pain”

“Why Dr. Kang resist to do the surgery earlier?” Irene curiously asked. Without everyone noticed, she adore the bear every time they are together at the same room. Right now she have big crush on the bear

“She used to experience both success and failure after doing surgery on our patient before. Wendy is a figure that everyone love that why she not confident to perform it in case it fail. It like she doesn’t want anything bad happens to Wendy. She willing to help Wendy in any other way but not choose this risky way but I trust her. She’s one of the best surgeons in country and she will make it. I will help her too. Don’t worry”

“We count on both of you” Mrs. Son said happily

“Thanks ma’am” said Taeyeon “I have to go now. I have to check other patient”

“Okay”

“She’s good person” said Wendy after Taeyeon left

“Which one?” Joy asked

“Dr. Kim” Everybody looking at Wendy while Yeri silently smirk as she know Wendy and Taeyeon have something even they never tell her. She trust her instinct that action speak louder than words

“You’re right, she doing everything just to make sure you can recover quickly. She even convince Dr. Kang to operate you even it’s hard for Dr. Kim to agree” said Wendy’s mom

“She always give me encouragement words to keep strong to against these pain and sometimes she accompany me when no one around”

“She has lively character. I can see from her face” Joy said

“You’re right and she talkative too” they chuckled “Dr. Kang also good person and treat me tenderly. She never fail to talk to me for a while when she come to check me”

“Thankful that you’re treated by kind and good-hearted doctor” Mr. Son said

Wendy checking her instagram to get rid of her boredom since she’s alone in her room, her parents back to their house after helps her with her breakfast. Her members are also not coming because they went to Japan for their Japan tour. It sad because she prepared a lot for the tour but in the end she can’t join them so she just text them to support the girls to do the best for their concert

When she’s busy watching videos on her phone, the door open distract her

“Hello darling” Taeyeon greet while shut the door behind her

“Hi dear”

“How are you today?” Taeyeon hugging her girlfriend and kiss her temple

Wendy rest her head on Taeyeon shoulder “I’m bit better than previous days. I can eat solid food now and my wrist also getting better. Just pelvis and leg still hurt”

Taeyeon released Wendy from her embrace then start checking the patient “Okay, good to hear that. Did Dr. Kang come to check you earlier?”

“Yes, she comes early in the morning”

“Alright” Taeyeon reading the reports on the table “Are you alone here?”

“Yes, I asked mom and dad to take rest at home since I can do everything for myself but now I feel lonely” Wendy chuckled

Taeyeon takes a sit on the chair beside the bed “I can accompany you for a while”

“It okay baby, I don’t want to disturb you working”

“I’m free for now and will back to work 2 hours from now so I can sit here with you”

“Thanks for your concern” Wendy said

“No problem” Taeyeon smiling showing her little dimple “Where are your members? They are not coming?”

“Nope” Wendy pout

“Honey, what’s with that pout?” Taeyeon peck the pouting lips

Wendy nods her head “Actually I feel bad because I can’t join my group for our Japan tour. We prepared it for months but it turned out only 3 of them participate. Our fans must be disappointed” she said sadly

Taeyeon smile warmly “I watched the clip this morning and everyone pray so that you recover quickly. The show is amazing and I hope one day I can watch your live concert next time when I’m not busy”

Wendy face glowing when she heard what Taeyeon said “Make sure you’re free when we held concert”

“Okay darling” Taeyeon wink

“I promise you whenever we have concert, you and Dr. Kang will get free pass and tickets for lifetime also free CD with our signature. I owe both of you a lot and I don’t know how to return it” Wendy suddenly teary

Taeyeon caressed Wendy arm “Just pray that our carrier always success is enough. We do this sincerely”
