Fatal Love, Pretty Foolish Love, Puppy LoveYongsun hasn't seen Byul lately, or any of her friends for that matter. She's been busy with school because exams are coming. She couldn't visit them at their building even at lunch, because she have a thesis that needs to be done too.
In fact she was actually doing her thesis at the student center when she saw Loco, who - as far as Yongsun remembers - doesn't go to their university, so she had the urge to ask why he's there.
"Loco?" She called as she approached him with a pleasing smile. "What happened to your face?" Yongsun asked with concern when she saw a bruise on Toby's right eye.
"Why don't you ask your best friend?" he said with an edge on his tone.
"Hyejin?" the girl asked curiously, assuming that it always has something to do with Hyejin when it comes to Loco.
"No." He sighs, the guilt resurfacing when he heard Hyejin's name. "It's Byulyi." he corrected.
Yongsun didn't know how to react. "She did that to you?" she was quite shocked, but moreover she was curious as to what pushed Byul to do such thing. "What did you do?"
"Why did you assume that I did something?" Loco tried to dodge the question but Yongsun just glared at him questioningly. He sighed defeatedly. "Okay, it was my fault." He admitted, but he wasn't planning on telling Yongsun what he'd just done, at least not yet.
"What did you do?" Yongsun inquired again.
He sighed. "Just ask your friend."
Yongsun furrowed her brows. "I can't."
"Why, not?" he asked. "Are you on a fight or something?"
"No." Yongsun said truthfully. They weren't in a 'fight', but they were on 'something', she guesses. "Just tell me what happened." She demanded.
"I'm sorry. I need to go, Yongsun. Just ask you friend." By that, he walked past Yongsun; avoiding any questions that the girl might ask him.
Wheein's POV:
"Is this seat taken?" I hear a familiar voice say.
I look up to see Yongsun-unnie holding the chair beside me. I smiled before shaking my head.
"What are you doing here, alone?" She asked as she takes a seat.
"I got hungry." I replied as I offer her a piece of my bread.
Yongsun chuckled. "I mean, duh, what else would you be doing in a cafeteria?" she said, playfully rolling her eyes. "But where are the others?"
"In class." I whispered.
"You're cutting class?" Yongsun exclaimed in amusement, but quiet enough so other students wouldn't hear.
"No." I denied. "I got really sleepy and hungry so I decided to go here, first." I reasoned. "I'm just going to be a little late."
She nodded. "Fair enough, I guess." She replied before saying hesitantly, "I'm just surprised you didn't bring Byul with you."
I was taken aback at how casual Yongsun-ssi brought up Byul's name, but I managed to answer. "She's taking an exam right now."
Yongsun-unnie nods in acknowledgement.
I'm glad that we can talk about Byul this casual- or that we can talk so casually at all.
"By the way, I saw Loco earlier in campus." She started.
"That's probably the reason why Hyejin's a little tense earlier." I concluded. Although to be fair, Hyejin doesn't seem herself for a week now.
"Did he do anything?" Yongsun asked.
I shake my head. "None that I know of, why?"
"Loco has a black-eye and he said that Byul punched him." Yongsun-unnie told me, with both concern and curiosity evident in her voice.
"Really?" I asked, but before I could properly react, my phone vibrated; Hyejin texted to remind me that I've been out for too long. "I'll -uh- I need to go back, but I'll let you know if I know anything, unnie."
I took a mental note to ask Byul later about it...if she has the time, that is. She's busy with her exams but considering that I'm staying at her apartment, she barely have time to talk to me.
Yongsun nodded and waved me goodbye. "Hope you don't get scolded."
After the incident, Hyejin spent the next few days avoiding both Moonbyul and Loco.
Loco doesn't dare talk to her or go near her, except for that one time he went to their campus to explain himself to her. Luckily, she was able to hide from him.
Byul, on the other hand, has been trying to reach out on her but Hyejin refuses to give the girl a chance to do so. Although, sharing the same campus building doesn't exactly make it easier for her.
But one afternoon after school, Byul decided to go straight to Hyejin's house where Sowon said she'll be after school; meaning that Hyejin's going to be home and she couldn't use the excuse that she'd 'gone out'.
When Byul rang the doorbell she wasn't too surprised that Sowon answered the door, considering that Hyejin's parents aren't home as well as her sister is often away from home.
"Byul-unnie, hi!" Sowon greeted, a little louder than usual, and if Byul didn't know any better she'd think that her friend is warning Hyejin that she's the one who came.
"Hi, Sowon. Can I come in?" Sowon just smiled, unsure of what to do.
"Sowon, who is it?" Hyejin asked as she reached to the door. "Oh." She said when she recognized who was standing at her doorstep. She wanted to go back and unsee herself from the girl but that would be too obvious that she's avoiding her, although she's quite sure Byul already knows that she's trying her best not to have any interaction with her.
"Can we talk?" Byul asks, not waiting for Hyejin to invite her in. She stepped inside and followed both Sowon and Hyejin in the living room.
"Sowon and I have to work on something. School stuff." Hyejin reasoned. "We can't talk right now, unnie."
Hyejin looked at Sowon to back her up but Sowon just stood there; she didn't dare to interrupt.
"Why?" Byul questioned. "Wheein shares the same class as you, but she told me you don't have school work for today." Byul bluffed.
"Unnie, I just don't want to talk right now." Hyejin replied when she couldn't think of another excuse.
"I think I should leave the two of you-" Sowon tried to excuse herself but Hyejin was quick to disagree.
"No! You're not leaving." Hyejin glared at Sowon, and then her face turned soft like she was pleading through her eyes.
Sowon almost didn't want to leave, but Byul looked at her with pleading eyes too. She knew it was for the best if Hyejin would just deal with it right now rather than to prolong the issue; avoiding Byul wouldn't solve anything.
"Sorry, Hyejin-ah." Sowon said apologetically.
Hyejin sighed in defeat when Sowon grabbed her bag and left. She crossed her arms as she looked anywhere but at Byul.
"Why are you avoiding me?" Moonbyul asked as soon as Sowon left, and she almost cursed herself for asking such a stupid question.
"I'm not." Hyejin answered unconvincingly that even she didn't believe herself.
Byul sighed, gathering her courage to address the issue at hand. "Hyejin-ah, I'm sorry I kissed you."
Hyejin flinched at how casual Byul said it, as if it wasn't a big deal. It just showed how insignificant it meant to Moonbyul.
Byul didn't fail to notice Hyejin's demeanor. "I..." Byul tried to say something to comfort the other girl but she was unsure of wha
