Jaemin

Trust, Let's Trust.

"Can I send the VP?" Jongin turns to his best friend laying on the couch,

"You can, but should you?" Sehun questions as Heeyoung walks in,

"No, you shouldn't." Heeyoung does not look pleased with her husband,

"But.." Jongin whines, pulling his wife close,

"But what?" Heeyoung asks, wrapping her arms around his neck, "It's an important deal for your company." She reasons,

"I know, but I might miss our six month anniversary." The CEO explains,

"You're awfully cute." She chuckles, pecking his chin,

"I'm not." Jongin pouts, amusing his wife while Sehun gags,

"Ah, but I like cute." She winks, attempting to pull away from him,

Jongin keeps a firm grip around her waist, "I'll be cute, Only for you." He declares, crashing their lips together, not caring about his best friend.

"Kim Jongin! What are you doing to my sister?" Baekhyun yells, the couple separate to see his friends lingering at the door with his secretary.

"I'm kissing my wife." Jongin bluntly states, Heeyoung hides her face in his chest to stifle her laughter.

Jongin's eyes soften, gazing at his wife.

"Jongin in love is a complete different sight." Kyungsoo voices as Jongin pulls Heeyoung to his lap, while the others occupy the couches,

"It's cute." Junmyeon nods,

"Really?" Heeyoung asks, curious about her husband's past,

"Oh yeah, Kim Jongin didn't dated." Jongdae starts,

"Stuck to one-night stands." Minseok smirks,

"Technically, you're his first romantic relationship." Yixing says,

"We don't have much of a choice." Heeyoung jokes,

"What? Are you bored of me. Do you want to break up?" Jongin sulks, tightening his arms around her waist,

"Not really. Too much paperwork." Heeyoung scrunches her nose.

Jongin's expression darken while his friends laugh at his misery,

"I'm joking, darling. I'm happy to be your first girlfriend." She pecks the side of his lips,

"Still here." Jongdae says,

"Get out!" Jongin waves, without looking away from his wife,

"I called them here." Heeyoung tells him, giving him a peck and getting off his lap, "You don't know when you're coming back and it's been a while since you guys have hung out, so I suggested a night out for you men. And the ladies have a movie night."

"But I want to spend more time with you." Jongin frowns,

"Way to make us feel loved, as*hole," Sehun scolds,

"Your flight is in the evening, we have tomorrow." She assures him,

"But..."

"CEO Kim, enjoy the night with your friends." Heeyoung chuckles, patting his head.

Jongin gives up, standing up to hug her, "Understood, Mrs.Kim. If you go drinking, let me know."

"Okay." With a final kiss, Heeyoung walks out of the office, waving his friends goodbye.

Jongin watches her leave, turning to his friends giving him an amused look,

"What?"

"She's good for you." Minseok comments,

"She is." Jongin softly smiles,

"Whipped." Kyungsoo coughs,

"You can't say anything, you're the same with your wife." Jongdae scoffs,

"Like you don't stare at your girlfriend with heart eyes." Kyungsoo retorts,

"What's the plan for tonight?" Yixing interrupts the childish argument,

"Clubbing?" Sehun suggests,

"Winter wonderland." Sera chirps as they're talking about Jihyun and Baekhyun's wedding,

"It is. I'm hoping it snows for some pictures." Jihyun nods,

"Look who's here?" Sera screams as Aejung, Seungwan and Hyeri walk in with their take-out.

"So, how's married life?" Yiming nudges Aejung, who blushes at the attention,

"They're always like this." Heeyoung whispers to Sunmi, refilling her glass,

"That's Min Aejung, the vet. She married Doh Kyungsoo a few weeks ago." Heeyoung informs Sunmi, before pointing at Hyeri, "Doh Hyeri, Kim Minseok's fiance, they're getting married the first week of January and the one with blonde highlights is Son Seungwan, youngest daughter of Son Cosmetics, but she works at KJC."

"More than us, Heeyoung and Jongin are enjoying themselves." Aejung says, shifting the teasing towards the youngest,

"Huh?"

"Jongin and you have been going on many trips." Sera teases, passing everyone their food,

"Since I'm new to the country, Jongin is helping me explore." Heeyoung explains, ignoring the teasing women for her food.

The men quietly walk into Jongin's apartment, not wanting to wake them up if the ladies are sleeping. But shockingly, they hear loud cries from the living room.

Someone flicks the light switch on to see Hyeri and Heeyoung dozing off, while the rest of the women are in various states of distress.

The men hurry to their partners, Sehun hesitates walking to his sister. Heeyoung blinks her eyes open when Jongin shifts her head on his shoulder.

"Baby, What's wrong?" Jongdae wipes his girlfriend's tears,

"We were watching a movie." Heeyoung yawns, slumping against her husband.

Seungwan smacks Jongdae's chest when he lets out a loud groan before hugging him tighter,

"Hyeri and her are heartless." Sera shakes her head, looking between the yawning women,

"Because we fell asleep?" Heeyoung asks,

"You fell asleep during a sad movie." Someone sniffs,

"I don't even remember what we were watching." Heeyoung innocently yawns, looking at her husband,

"Whatever, let's watch something else." Sehun claps his hands, getting the remote and choosing a romantic comedy, against his friend's wishes.

Not even 15 minutes into the movie, Jongin chuckles at the sight of his sleeping wife.

"Everything's in the closet, help yourself." Jongin tells his friends, carrying his wife to their room.

"Take care of yourself." Heeyoung tells him,

"You too! Be careful and don't spend every day working." Jongin hugs her tighter,

"Okay."

"I'll miss you." Jongin kisses her head,

"I'll miss you too."

"Good luck!" Heeyoung says, pulling away from him,

Jongin reluctantly lets go, leaning down for a kiss when his secretary interrupts.

"I'll be back soon." Jongin presses a last kiss on her forehead,

"Come back safely." Heeyoung whispers, watching him disappear.

"Heeyoung." Inhee chirps through the screen,

"Mom." Heeyoung beams, "How are you guys doing?"

"We're enjoying ourselves." Inhee talks about the places they've visited,

"I called about the gala." Inhee sobers up,

"Junmyeon and I are attending together." Heeyoung informs her,

"Oh. That's wonderful. I know you don't like social events, but-"

"It's fine, Mom. I'll represent the Jae-In clan." She states, earning a chuckle from the elder.

"How are things with you? I've heard from Jongin..."

"Darling." Jongin calls, as his wife's face freezes on the screen,

"Heeyoung." He thinks it's a problem with the connection at first, but he's confused seeing Heeyoung blush,

"So handsome." Heeyoung swoons,

"You look beautiful as well." Junmyeon compliments, both oblivious to Jongin.

"Is that Jongin?" Junmyeon points at her screen,

"Huh? Oh." She hands the phone to Junmyeon,

He flips the screen, showing Heeyoung dressed in an off-shoulder navy gown, "She looks gorgeous." Jongin mumbles, Junmyeon screenshots Jongin's dazed expression.

“The Go's are rude, ill-mannered, impolite and Rude.” Heeyoung complains to Jongin,

"Mina and Minsup?" Jongin frowns,

"In the presence of directors, that bi*ch had the audacity to insinuate Junmyeon and I are involved. Thankfully, Baekhyun and Jihyun were with us, or rumors would be flying around." Heeyoung fumes, yanking the pins out of her hair,

"I'm sorry you had to go through that, I'll talk to Aunty." He tells her,

"Don't, I can handle issues like that. I'm more worried about Myeon." Heeyoung tells him,

"Myeon. Of course. We'll treat him to dinner or something." Jongin half-heartedly offers, not wanting to talk about his wife's 'idol'.

"What-"

"Sir, we're ready." Jongin's secretary informs him,

"I'll talk to you later." Heeyoung waves.

"Send me pictures. I miss you so much." Jongin pouts,

"I will. I miss you more. Good luck!" Heeyoung blows a kiss to the camera before hanging up.

“Happy six months wife.” Jongin wishes her,

“Happy six months to you as well, dear husband. Thank you for the flowers.” She smiles, admiring the box of red roses on her desk.

“I’m sorry, I couldn’t be there today.” He deeply sighs,

“We have several anniversaries to come.” She gives him a soft smile,

“I lo-"

“CEO Kim” someone interrupts him.

"Talk later." Heeyoung sadly hangs up.

Weeks later and Jongin is still unsure on his return. But the couple doesn't let the distance get to them. Taking time to schedule calls and making sure to always keep in contact.

Heeyoung suggests flying out, but with her workload and training, she can't get any time off.

“Is something wrong with your leg?” Jongin frowns, watching his wife skip around the kitchen,

“I twisted my ankle dancing today.”

“Are you okay?” He worries,

“Of course, I just have to be careful for the next few weeks."

"Apply for sick leave." Jongin says,

"Over a twisted ankle? I'm fine, honey." Heeyoung chuckles,

"Have Sera stay with you or move in with them until it heals." Jongin suggests,

“Nuh-uh, Jackson's going to unnecessarily fuss if he finds out." Heeyoung shakes her head,

"That's good."

"No, it's not, especially not with Sera."

"For me." Jongin pleads.

With a little more convincing, Heeyoung has to give in.

“Guess what?” Jongin chirps,

“You got the deal.” Heeyoung guesses.

“We got the deal!” He yells,

“Congrats. Finally, no more all-nighters, you need sleep. In fact, go to sleep right now. If you call within the next 8-10 hours, I will not pick up."

“But, we haven’t properly talked in over two weeks. Baby please.” he whines.

“Goodnight. Jongin. I miss you.” She softly smiles, blowing him a kiss and hanging up.

They thought after the deal was sealed, they would have more time to talk, but unfortunately other issues pop up, eating at Jongin's time and delaying his return.

Their calls are no longer than 3 minutes, and that's on a good day. Jongin can't even respond to texts for hours. Slowly, the constant communication stops, as Heeyoung's training progresses.

Her free time is spent between Yixing's dance studio or hanging out at PCY11. The apartment becomes suffocating, so she finds herself sleeping over at Jackson and Sera's place.

“When are you coming back?” Heeyoung asks,

“I’m not sure. Jongin replies dejected.

“I miss you.” she confesses.

“I miss you too.” Jongin says, sincerely,

“CEO Kim” a voice interrupts, signaling the end of their phone call.

It's been close to two months since Jongin's departure and a week since their last phone call.

"I bought groceries." Heeyoung says, walking inside Jackson's apartment with a bag, while scrolling through her phone,

"It's you." A familiar voice whispers, before she's pulled into a hard chest and the bag in her hands slips to the floor.

"What the fu*k!" Heeyoung pushes him away and the male lands on his knees, his arm twisted with Heeyoung squeezing his neck,

"Heeyoung." She sees her husband staring at her wide-eyed,

"Hope." Jackson sighs, getting her attention to see the others staring at her.

"Surprise." Sehun awkwardly says,

Shocked, Heeyoung quickly lets go of the person in her hold.

He slowly stands to face her, "J-jaemin." Heeyoung stutters,

"Hope." Jaemin softly smiles, stepping forward with open arms, but the lady stumbles back, rejecting him.

"I.I forgot something." Hope mumbles, sprinting out the door. Jaemin attempts to follow her, but Jackson drags him inside, letting Jongin follow his wife.

"Heeyoung." Jongin calls out catching up to his wife. The lady slips her arms around him.

"I missed you." She mumbles, burying her head in his chest.

"I missed you more." Jongin chuckles, running a hand through her hair.

"Don't leave me ever again." Heeyoung whines, surprising her husband, as she's never used that tone with him,

"I won't." He states, kissing her forehead.

"Do you think they'll mind if we go missing for an hour or so?" Jongin wonders,

"Huh?"

"Sehun dragged us over, I haven't had a chance to wash up." Jongin explains,

"I could use a shower." She comments.

Jongin smirks, suddenly picking his wife up, uncaring of his surroundings as he heads to their apartment.

"Welcome back." Jongdae teases when the couple returns to Jackson's apartment,

Like always the teasing is ignored as the couple joins the rest of the group,

"Where's Jaemin?" Jongin asks, scanning around the room,

Surprised, his wife turns to him, "How do you know Jaemin?" Sera and Jackson share a worried look,

"He's our cousin. How do you know him?" Jongdae answers, curiously glancing at Heeyoung as the doorbell rings.

"Speak of the devil." Sera mumbles as Jaemin walks in with a box of pink roses, a bag hanging off his wrist holding a square box.

"Where did you go?" Jongin asks,

"I needed to get a few things." Jaemin smiles at the older, setting his things on the counter,

"Cousin?" Heeyoung mumbles,

Noticing Jaemin approaching Heeyoung with the flowers, Sera intercepts him, "When did you return?"

"Sehun dragged us here from the airport." Jongin snarls at his best friend, who looks extremely proud of himself,

"Is that why you insisted on us throwing a surprise party for Hope?" Sera scowls at her brother,

"You wanted to throw Heeyoung a cheer up party, I simply suggested the day and time." Sehun clears out,

"Cheer up?" Jongin looks at his wife,

"For the past couple of weeks, her aura has turned dark." Sera starts,

"People are scared to move around her at work." Baekhyun adds,

"Byun Baek." Heeyoung whines,

"He's not wrong. You scare the customers at the cafe whenever you come in." Chanyeol joins in on the teasing,

"Oppa." She frowns at them teaming up on her,

"Heeyoung, you have been moddy the past weeks." Junmyeon comments,

"Junmyeon!" She pouts,

"Stop it." Jongin defends his wife, letting her bury her face in his chest,

"Her protector is back." Sehun mocks his friend,

"How long have you two been dating?" Jaemin speaks up,

Sera snorts, "Dating? They've been married almost seven months now."

"Married?" Jaemin stutters,

"How do you know each other?" Jongdae wonders,

Jaemin glances at Heeyoung, "She's one of the most important people in my life." The statement has Sera choking on air, while Heeyoung raises an eyebrow at him, "We've known each other about 20 years now." He explains,

"I didn't realize you're her Jae." Jongin adds, as Jaemin takes a seat beside Heeyoung,

"So you haven't forgotten me." Jaemin jokes, staring at her.

"Where's the food?" Heeyoung diverts the topic,

"In the kitchen. I'm sure you're hungry." Sera says, dragging Heeyoung towards the kitchen.

Jaemin chuckles watching them, noticing Jackson glaring at him, "Hello, Jackson."

"Jaemin." Jackson sneers,

Jaemin mockingly smiles at him, "How are Sera and you doing?"

Jackson fakes a smile, "You don't need to know."

"But I want to, after all Sera was-"

"Jaemin Kim, aren't you hungry?" Heeyoung frowns at him,

"Make my plate for me?" Jaemin requests,

"I don't know what you'll like." Heeyoung indirectly rejects,

"I still love the things I did three years ago." Jaemin states, watching Heeyoung momentarily freeze,

"I don't remember." Heeyoung sidesteps him.

~

"Heeyoung." Sehun calls, holding a dumpling for her to try.

Jongin intercepts the bite, glaring at the lawyer, "Don't feed my wife weird things."

Sehun's jaw hangs open, staring at his friend.

"She liked them last time." Sehun says,

"Last time? You gave them to her." Jongin points at him,

"Of course. Though I made a few changes, it's still her recipe." Sehun explains,

"Lawyer Oh." Sehun squeezes his eyes shut for a moment, preparing for the familiar blank face,

"I adhere to a vegetarian diet."

"Why?" Sehun frowns,

"If I state my reasons, you might consider giving up meat as well." Heeyoung tells him,

"Really?" Sehun asks, curious,

"Of course." Jongin answers for her,

"Jaemin, what are your plans while here?" Minseok asks,

"Business."

"How long are you staying?" Junmyeon asks,

"I wasn't planning on staying too long, now, I'm not sure." Jaemin sneaks a glance at Heeyoung, who's currently being feed by her husband,

"Oh, where are you staying?" Jongdae asks,

"I had my secretary find me a temporary place, but since my stay has been extended, I'm thinking of cleaning up Okto." Jaemin looks at Heeyoung, who shrugs.

"Where's the temporary place?" Sera follows up, trying to distract them from the interaction.

"The penthouse." Jaemin answers,

"What penthouse?"

"The one on the top floor."

"Where is this penthouse, Jaemin Kim?" Sera asks, frustrated,

"In the building we're currently in, Sera Oh." Jaemin rolls his eyes,

"You. Why would you move here?" Sera fumes,

"Why can't I?" Jaemin deadpans. The tone reminding everyone of Heeyoung.

"How are you feeling?" Sera asks, taking a sip of her drink while Heeyoung thinks over her words,

"Shock, anger, regret, calm, nothing, everything, I don't know.." Her answer confuses Sera more,

"Explain." Sera demands, as Chanyeol joins them with Heeyoung drink,

"There's too much unresolved baggage between Jaemin and I. I've moved on and forgave him already, but... it's just weird." Heeyoung says, exasperated.

"You still?" Sera warily asks, her friend quickly shakes her head.

"He's still your childhood friend Jae, isn't he?" Chanyeol voices, Heeyoung looks lost,

"I.I can't think like this right now. I'm heading to ZYX."

She lets herself get lost in the music not paying her surroundings any attention. Half-way through the song, she opens her eyes to see the reason behind her worries staring at her through the studio mirror. She moves to pause the music, but Jaemin pulls her back.

"Dance with me." He asks, holding his palm open, seeing her hesitate, he adds, "Please."

She takes his hand, letting him pull her close with a hand on her waist and her palm on his shoulder,

"I'm sorry." Jaemin starts, "I was an idiot and a fool for not immediately trusting your words. Letting you walk away is my biggest mistake."

Heeyoung tenses, "Jaemin."

"Will an explanation help?" Jaemin asks,

"I forgive you either way, though an explanation might help me understand." She tells him,

"I was angry. I needed you with me, but you kept choosing your boyfriend over me." Jaemin sighs,

"Jihoon and I weren't dating." Heeyoung tells him,

"You flew out every weekend."

"Raima Lu had an accident. We were flying out to help Lucai with Raiyan and Luyang." Heeyoung tries to pull away, but he holds her firmly,

"I didn't know."

"How would you, you were too busy."

"Hope." Jaemin sighs,

"Let's just move on." She pats his shoulder, but he grabs her wrist,

"Jaemin, we have a dinner to attend and I need a shower."

"Hope, I'm sorry. Giv-"

"Babe, you rea-" Jongin trails off, looking between his cousin and wife,

"I am." Heeyoung yanks her hand away, walking out of the room after grabbing her bag and phone.

"See you at dinner, Jaemin." Jongin waves, leaving Jaemin standing in the middle of the dance studio.
