CHAPTER 21

“WHAT THE HELL!!! VIC! LUNA! WHERE’S THE ING SWORD!!??”

IT’S NOT HERE ON THE CASE! WHAT’S LEFT IS A TREE BRANCH!

Luna went to the computer and checked the CCTV footages last night. We installed a camera here in the Command center for safety of the artifacts.

“. Girls look at this…” it was Jonghyun entering the command center at past 4:00 in the morning. He took the sword and rolled it in a cloth then placed a tree branch instead before covering the case.

He is like a panther moving swiftly and surely. He went out of the command center holding the bundled sword and disappeared.

“Did you guys all saw him this morning? When he left with the kids, is he holding or bringing something like that?” I asked them. All three of them shook their heads answering me.

We need to go now, every second counts.

“Let’s go, before anything else happens to Amber.” Vic gave me a metal baseball bat and a taser gun.

“That’s Titanium.” Vic said.

We all went out of the tent and ran to the direction of the excavation site. From the footage coming from the drone I can’t see anything resembling Amber and Jonghyun.

When we reached the site, I told the kids to keep on searching for the siblings while the four of us girls follow the path way leading inside the forest. I saw the markers Amber and I left before when we went searching for the meadow.

The meadow…

I took the radio in my belt and gave the baseball bat to Ju-hyun while we walk hurriedly on the path. I noticed she’s carrying a backpack with her… what’s inside it? I shrugged my shoulders and radioed Haechan.

“Haechan, this is Professor Jung. I want you to fly the drone up in the air proceeding North from where you are standing.”

“Copy Professor..”

Vic’s radio intercepted a signal and it was Wendy calling “Miss Victoria, this is Wendy! Come in!”

“Come in Wendy! What is it??”

“I think we have been tricked. Mister Jonghyun’s GPS tracker has been on that exact same location since 4:30 in the morning. There’s a possibility he only dropped it there to mislead us. I already radioed Mister Jaesuk and told him to meet you there in the forest.”

“Thank you Wendy! Keep us informed.”

We hurriedly walk in the forest, almost running with Wendy telling us where to go since she can see from the computer where we are. Jae Suk found us and told us to go straight on the path, checking the real time image that the drone is giving.

The drone further advance and now had a wide view of the meadows. “Haechan I want you to fly lower a little..” he followed my instructions and finally the camera caught sight of 2 persons in the ground.

Based on the color of the hoodie which is red, it was Amber throwing a punch to Jjong. “Wendy! Check the location of the drone tell me if its near us!”

“Professor, it’s 50 meters away from where the 5 of you are located.”

50 meters!!

“DAMN!! IF ONLY I HAVE LONG LEGS!!” I heard Luna yelling her heart out. All of us started running, sprinting following Wendy’s direction. I tripped a couple of times because I was constantly looking at the iPad screen showing the scene unfolding. And always it was Ju-hyun helping me to get up and pulling me.

Amber was putting up a good fight on her brother. She’s a martial artist and has quick reflexes, I just don’t know about Jjong. Whenever I will look at the screen I will see Amber trying to punch Jjong but the latter will counter it. He was holding the ancient sword swinging it in the air to hit Amber but his sister managed to dodge it and made an axe kick that made him stumble and drop the sword.

Jjong immediately stood up and made a fighting stance to Amber then landed a punch in Amber’s side that made her drop on the ground clutching it.

… we need to run fast.

I’m not gonna lose this person again. Never.

If in our past life I settled to die with her, in this lifetime I’m gonna make sure no one will die between the two of us.

Because in this lifetime, I’m gonna make sure we are going to be happy together.

As soon as we reached the meadows I saw where Amber and Jonghyun is. They were near the site where the house of the Gongzhu and Gongju formerly stands. Now it was just plain grassland and no signs of a wooden house previously standing there.

I dropped the iPad on the ground and ran to their direction holding the Titanium steel bat Vic gave to me.

“JONGHYUN!! PUT AMBER DOWN OR WE ARE GOING TO SHOOT YOU!!!” Vic yelled to Jjong pointing her gun but it seems he doesn’t hear anything and landed another punch in Amber’s gut.

He wants to kill his sister, every punch he lands has the intensity of a mad man.

“IF YOU DON’T PUT AMBER DOWN I WON’T HAVE A CHOICE BUT SHOOT YOU! PUT HER DOWN!”

Okay Krystal Jung, think about Train to Busan. Zombies are everywhere and Gong Yoo is being harassed by a zombie trying to eat him. Of course Amber is Gong Yoo! No mercy Krystal Jung!

“JJONG!!! PUT MY WIFE DOWN!!” he was holding Amber’s hoodie by the neck and was going to land a punch on my wife’s face when I called him.

BANG!

Vic made a warning shot in the air but he wasn’t stopping. It’s like he’s possessed by an evil spirit still trying to hit his sister. I ran advancing holding the Titanium bat in my hands. Luna fired the gun hitting him on his legs but it was no use.

It’s like he doesn’t feel any pain!

“HEY JERK! PUT MY BEST FRIEND DOWN OR I’LL SHOVE A KILO OF GOGUMA IN YOUR ! UMM! UM!!” Ju-hyun started throwing her beloved Goguma’s in Jonghyun’s direction hitting him on his head. So that was her backpack is for! Is that her diet!?

I reached him and called his name again that made him turn around, his eyes red and blinking then his face welcomed the Titanium bat that I raised in the air like I’m gonna smash a Pineapple in Fruit Ninja hitting him.

TING!!!

I love that sound! It was like when a Baseball player hit the ball and just by the sound of the ball hitting the bat you will know it will be a home run.

Jjong dropped Amber on the ground clutching his face and disoriented. Amber took the chance and kick her brother in his stomach making him drop on the ground lying sideways.

“Ummm! Umm! You jerk! How dare you do this to your sister!! Umm!!” I kept on hitting him with the baseball bat in his body while Amber tries to hold me. Luna and Ju-hyun helped me by kicking him on the ground.

“You !! You told them you got me pregnant!? You’re not even my type! Ummm!!” Ju-hyun started kicking him and hitting him with her backpack.

“You good for nothing ert! You were stalking my best friend! That was so dirty! I can take you being a ladies man but being a dirty and sick ert ugghh! Ummm! Ummm! I can’t believe I slept with you!!! Ugghhhh! Much better I bust out your head Jjong!!”

“STOP!! PLEASE STOP! FORGIVE ME!”

“!!!”

“Vic! Help me!”

“You are a disgrace to our family!”

I took a final kick on his shin and faced Amber who was holding me from the back. I dropped the bat on the ground and cupped her face checking her injuries. She has a cut on the right eyebrow that is bleeding, the part of her left eye is already turning red, her lips.. my Lord! Her lips also has a cut bleeding too!

“Are you okay Amber?! Anything hurting in your body? Does it hurt here? Or here?” I asked her holding her stomach and her sides. She cringe when I did it probably because of the punch a while ago.  

“I’m okay Krys… thank you for coming…” I wiped the blood dripping on her eyebrow with the sleeve of my shirt but it’s no use. It needs to be stitch.

I can hear Luna and Ju-hyun yelling while giving Jonghyun the beating he deserves. I can’t believe Ju-hyun brought her Gogumas I didn’t even know why she eats it.

“YAH! !! UM! UM! TAKE THAT!”

“I CAN’T BELIEVE I’M WASTING MY GOGUMA’S ON YOU BUT IT’S ALL WORTH IT!!”

“YOU’RE A SICK AND DISGUSTING PERSON AND I’M MAD AT MYSELF FOR LETTING YOU TOUCH MY BODY BACK THEN
