CHAPTER 15

“What did you say?!” Jjong was hiding his face behind his palm, too embarrassed to meet Amber’s eyes when my wife confronted him.

I can’t believe this is happening… of all the girls he will bed.

Unbelievable.

Amber dragged his older brother under the big tree where we had breakfast yesterday. I followed behind them scared of Amber’s outburst, I don’t want her to get mad at Jjong especially that Jjong is older than her.

I gave my brother in-law an understanding nod urging him to answer Amber. I know Amber, the moment she gets mad, it will be hard to pacify her if you answer her with words of stupidity.

Jjong was sitting on the ground and brushes his fingers on his short hair, sulking. “She called me a week ago, she said she was in New York and vacationing for a few days. Ju-hyun said she just got out of rehab and wants to visit places she missed. We met in a bar, had a few drinks…” I shook my head when he said it.

I know Jjong, he doesn’t drink that much because he believes drinking alcohol can damage his vocal cords. He does drink wine and champagne but that’s it. Anything beyond that he can’t tolerate and he easily gets tipsy and drunk.

“And? Don’t tell me you got drunk!” I held Amber’s arm it to calm her down. She took a deep breath and sighed audibly before looking at me.

I gave her a small smile and mouthed “Calm down” she nodded and faced her brother again who was staring at space looking like he took Atlas’ job of holding the world on his back.

“Amber… I got drunk and the next thing I know, I was inside a hotel room with Ju-hyun beside me too. I don’t even remember what happened! It will be great if I remembered it…” Bwoah!

“Ummm!” I can’t help myself but smack Jjong’s head. I can’t believe he even thought about it!

“Krys! Honey calm down…” he deserves it!

“Sorry… I got carried away…” I sneered at Jjong and threatened him to smack his head again that he cowered and covered it while pouting.

God… what will I do with these Liu siblings??

I crossed my arms while looking at the two of them, the youngest sister walking back and forth in front of the troubled older brother. Sometimes I wonder who is older, Amber or Jjong? Because there are times my wife acts older than my brother in-law.

“Jjong… do you think you got her pregnant? You know I already cut my ties with her and all of our friends! Now you’re planning to make her your wife!” Oh no… I’m not gonna approve of that!

Even Mom won’t approve of her being part of the family, especially when Mom found out she’s the reason Amber and I had that marriage problem. She was fond of Ju-hyun before because she’s Amber’s best friends since they were kids. But Mom had a change of heart when I told her about the things Ju-hyun did. Amber said she also told Mom about it and my mother in-law despise Ju-hyun now.

So I don’t know what will happen if Jjong really got her pregnant. But it smells fishy….

One week isn’t enough to know that you are pregnant. Well… there’s a possibility that she can get pregnant after 24 hours to 5 days. But that can only happen if she’s ovulating… Unless….

She planned it.

Or faking it.

But if Ju-hyun turns out to be pregnant, Jjong has a choice to marry her or not. But knowing Dad and his “Liu Family Honor” thing, Jjong will be force to marry Ju-hyun for the family to save face and also for Ju-hyun.

Come to think of it, even if she’s y… she’s still a woman. And she deserves to be treated right and save her dignity.

That is IF she is really pregnant.

“Jjong..” I called my problematic looking brother in-law and he looked up to me “Did she already told you that she’s pregnant?”

He nodded at me looking hopeless. “She showed the pregnancy test to me yesterday. But we haven’t been to the doctor and I haven’t tell Mom and Dad about it. I don’t know how to say it to them if she’s really pregnant… I’ll lose everything in my life right now.”

Amber was just staring intently at her brother with a sympathetic look on her face. I reached for her hand and squeezed it lightly getting her attention. “Am, if she’s pregnant there’s nothing we can do about it. A baby is a blessing… maybe it will change Ju-hyun for the better. But I don’t want her near me or you, understood?! I don’t care if she’s pregnant, the moment I see her make a move on you she’ll definitely get it from me and the reconciliation you want will be flush down the drain if you give in to her craziness .”

“Honey!~….” the only thing she can do is scratch her head while looking at me hopelessly. I pinched her sides hard that made her squeak.

I’m serious! I know she promised me no one can separate us again even this Ju-hyun but… I’m scared that history might repeat itself.

I glared at her and tighten my hold on her hand intertwining our fingers before putting it inside the pocket of my jacket.

Krystal Jung won’t let anyone take her llama away from her because she will put up a good fight if that does any wicked thing again.

The way she looks at Amber earlier is scary. Even though she said that she already finished her rehab and already healed, I still have to be alert. Who knows… maybe she’s scheming something again and she used Jjong to be near us and ruin our life for the second time.

“I’m sorry Amber, Krys. I know you don’t want to see her anymore because of what she did before with C and Scottie but she threaten me that if I will not let her accompany me on this expedition, she will tell Mom and Dad that I forced her to have while I’m drunk. That because of that I got her pregnant. Sorry…” Aissshhh….

Amber sighed and shook her head, disappointment written on her face but spoke in a calm voice to her brother “Jjong… I can’t screw my chance with my wife now. You know how much I suffered because of being away from Krystal.” my heart felt warm hearing Amber saying those words.

Because I felt the same way too when we parted and lived far from each other with no communication. No hope that we will be together again. It was a big decision for me, giving Amber the space she needs to realize her faults. And I’m glad she used that time to improve herself and at the same time found her way back to me.

“I know Amber…”

I patted Amber’s back and it gently, I know this is going to be hard. “Am… let’s go back to the camp site. We still have a lot of work to do… you and Jjong can talk about it later. Let him rest first…”

“Fine…” she motioned for Jjong to follow us back to the campsite.

She was pouting along the way mumbling something to Jjong that is walking beside her, even threatening his brother with her fist but I can’t hear what it is. What is she saying now?

We were already near the camp site when my ear got old of her mumblings that I felt my cheeks turned hot and flushed when I heard it.

“How I wish it was Krys that is pregnant…”
