All The Things I Swallowed InsideIt had been six months since he was home. His plane had already landed, and it was only a matter of time that he would be coming down that escalator. There was a sick feeling in your stomach from how excited you were. The leashes in your hands started to make them sweat. His dogs sat lazily on the floor, one of them laying down and somehow sleeping through the airport noise. It was a lot of work to get the airport to allow them in not being service dogs or not in carriers. You just wanted to see that adorable smile, the one you knew was genuine, on his face. He had been so stressed out and tired on tour; any kind of relief you could give him, you would.
You just couldn’t wait to see him without a screen cutting through. Sometimes you’d go days without hearing from him. You knew it wasn’t because he didn’t want to talk to you. He had a lot on his plate and you didn’t fault him for it. It did worry you though. Was he eating well? Was he getting enough sleep? Was he in a bad mood? Was he okay?
Boisterous laughter pulled your mind back into the airport. The dogs jumped up at the familiar voices and became restless. Then you saw him.
