The Day Baekhyun Was Cheated On
I Cheated on Byun BaekhyunChapter 19- The Day Baekhyun Was Cheated On
It was late at night, and the sky was filled with rain pouring down. After a long day, Baekhyun was drinking his cup of warm coffee while staring out the window and looking at the beautiful night view of the city. He usually did this as a way to relax his mind after a long day of back to back schedule. However, this time it was different. He couldn't stop thinking about what happened earlier at the hospital with Chanyeol and their argument. He also couldn't believe that Mina kicked him out when all he wanted was to just talk. He really believed for a moment that Mina did not deserve this after being moved by her actions that one time and remembering about their past together. However, it was Mina's lost now and Baekhyun felt stupid for trying. He was the victim after all. So why was he trying to make up and be nice to a person who cheated on him and betrayed him?
The thought of Chanyeol still blaming him without explaining to him why he was the one at wrong here just angered Baekhyun. Was the world always like this? Where people who are at fault twist everything around to make themselves look like the innocent one? Before he knew it, Baekhyun was starting to back-track to the past when he was betrayed.
[Flashback to the past]
Baekhyun was sitting down alone while nervously kicking his feet around. He was reading over some lines from a script and practicing them because he was going to audition for a part in a movie in a few minutes.
"Aish," Baekhyun said in frustration when he messed up a line.
Now wasn't the time to be messing up. He should have practiced harder because now he was unconfident and anxious. Just then, his phone began to ring, and he checked to see who it was. He then saw that it was Chanyeol who was calling him. But instead of picking up, Baekhyun hung up the call. Chanyeol should have known better than to call him right now. He was well aware that Baekhyun was auditioning for a part and needed to keep his mind on track before an audition.
"Byun Baekhyun," a woman called as she walked out from a room.
"Here!" Baekhyun said as he quickly raised his hand to show his presence.
Baekhyun was nervously standing in front of 4 judges who had their eyes on hand.
"Whenever you are ready, you can start," one of the judges said as he flipped through some papers, showing that he wasn't going to be easy to impress.
"Alright," Baekhyun said as he took a deep breath.
Baekhyun then began to act out his lines that he was practicing for a couple days now. While doing so, the judges continued to keep their eyes on him to see if he was the right person for the role. With a minute or two into the audition, some judges looked like they were impressed by Baekhyun's acting, and possibly even considering him.
But suddenly, the worst thing that could ever happen during an audition occurred. Baekhyun's phone began to go off in the middle of his audition, causing the judges to be confused for a short moment of what was happening. Baekhyun was shocked when he realized that he didn't turn off his phone before, and now here he was with his phone echoing through the silent room. The impressed expression on the judges' faces soon turned into a disappointment. Turning off your phone or even leaving them was a must before an audition in order to prevent a situation like this. Baekhyun began to nervously and anxiously touch his phone in order to ignore the call and stop the ringing, but why did it have to be so hard to do so right now?
Baekhyun was walking out of the building with his shoulders hanging down. Why? Why did his phone have to ring when he was doing so good?
"Aish!" Baekhyun said in frustration as he threw his paper onto the ground.
He missed the best chance that he had in order to get his very first role in a movie! But now the opportunity was gone thanks to the person who called him! Just then, his phone started to ring again, and it caused Baekhyun to become even more angry. What did this person need that had to call him so many times?!
Baekhyun ignored the call because he was not in the best mood right now. In fact, he was completely pissed. He saw the expressions on the judges' face and knew they were impressed and even noting him down as a consideration. But now it was gone thanks to the phone call.
Suddenly...
"Hey!" someone called as they ran out of the building.
Baekhyun turned around to see if this person was calling for him, and saw a man running towards him. This man is his manager, although at this time he was just one of the staff members on the side watching the audition, not to mention a complete stranger.
This man handed Baekhyun a stack of papers that looked like a script.
"What is this?" Baekhyun asked as he slowly took the script from the man.
"This is a script for another role in the movie. The audition is tomorrow at noon," the man informed.
"What? But-" Baekhyun tried to say, not understanding what was going on.
"I saw your audition and think you would suit this role more. Come back tomorrow and don't be late," the man said before he walked away.
"Wait! But-" Baekhyun said before he stopped because the man was already far away.
Baekhyun had no choice but to stare at this script that he was suddenly given. The man thought he suited this role more? Could this be his second chance?
For the whole day and night, Baekhyun practiced the script nonstop since he only had 24 hours to learn the lines. Was this possible? Was this insane? Why was he even trying? There's no way that he would get the part with the little practice he has.
But even so, he decided to not give up. Maybe this was his second chance and even fate. This man approached him for a reason, and he had to take advantage of it. If the man really thought he was suited for this role, then he had to show that he really is.
While he was practicing, his phone was ringing non stop and it could be seen that Mina and Chanyeol was calling. But Baekhyun ignored the call because he was too busy focusing on memorizing the lines for the audition and getting it down.
A few days after the audition, Baekhyun was laying his chin on his desk while staring at his phone. He was waiting for a very important phone call any minute now, and he had to make sure he didn't miss it. Just then, his phone began to ring and he lifted his head quickly in excitement. However, it wasn't the phone call that he was expecting. It was Mina, again.
"What does she want? Now's not the time," Baekhyun said to himself before he ignored the call.
He set his phone back down on table, and began to spin around because sitting still and waiting was too boring. Suddenly, his phone began to ring again and he quickly looked at his phone to see who it was.
"Hello!" Baekhyun said as he quickly answered the phone call.
Without knowing who was on the other line or what was being said, Baekhyun stood up while still keeping the phone next to his ears.
Baekhyun was walking fast as he held a bouquet of flowers in his hand. He was on his way to meet someone despite the sun going down, and couldn't hide his excitement.
"Hopefully she'll understand. After all, I finally did it," Baekhyun said to himself.
After walking for a couple more minutes, he arrived in front of a cafe and stopped to stare at the name of the cafe with a bright smile. He felt his heart beating with excitement yet nervousness as he took the time to take a deep breath in order to calm himself down. He was excited to relay the good news to his girlfriend and bestfriend. This was the moment that they have all been waiting for.
Just as Baekhyun was going to enter the cafe, he suddenly stopped once again while staring at someone or something through the large windows of the cafe. The joy and smile on his face slowly faded away as he continued to stare. There, inside the cafe, was Chanyeol standing in front of Mina with his hands on her face, and leaning in to kiss her.
