Chapter 16- Chanyeol's Flashbacks

 [We are now back in present time]

   Mina was sitting down on a chair in front of the counter while staring at the big brown envelope in front of her. She was overwhelmed with stress because of the situation she was in at the moment. She thought of how foolish she made herself look when she boldly stood in front of Baekhyun's group of fans, and tried to reveal something about their "oppa" to them. However, she couldn't find herself to because she was better than that. But now, there was news and articles spreading over the media about what Mina did and how dumb she looked. 

"Aish. Why did I do that?" Mina said as she rubbed her face in frustration. 

Just then, the doorbell rang and Mina was taken aback. Who would be here to meet her?

She walked over to her door and opened it, and was surprised to see who this person was. 

"Chanyeol..." Mina slowly said.

Mina lead Chanyeol into the kitchen, and was going to grab a drink for him. While she was doing this, she was silent while maintaing a serious expression. 

"I heard about what you did," Chanyeol suddenly stated. 

Mina stopped midway of pouring the water when she heard this. Even Chanyeol heard about what she did?

"Aigoo," Chanyeol said as he sighed. "What are we going to do about your kindess?" 

"I'm not in the mood right now to mess around," Mina said as she handed him his cup of water. 

"I'm not here to mess around. I'm just here to help you through this and make sure nothing happens to you," Chanyeol stated. 

"I'm fine Chanyeol. I'm not a little kid," Mina said as she walked past him. 

Chanyeol let out a grin as he thought about how tough Mina was trying to act. It was obvious that she wasn't okay. Just then, something on the counter caught his eyes. It was the brown envelope. He walked over to grab this envelope and looked through it to see what it was. 

"What is this?" Chanyeol asked with anger slightly building him.

Mina turned around to see what he was referring to, and saw him holding up the brown envelope that had the law suit documents in it. She forgot to take it away and hide it before Chanyeol could lay his hands on it! 

"Is he suing you?" Chanyeol asked in disbelief.

Mina quickly walked over to Chanyeol and grabbed the envelope from his hand. She didn't want Chanyeol to know about this, but it was too late.

"No. It's- it's nothing," Mina stuttered. 

Chanyeol knew that she was lying because he already saw it with his own eyes. But before he could say anything further, he realized that something was wrong with Mina. She was sweating and her face was starting to slightly turn red. She didn't look too well overall and it could be seen that she had little strength in her body left, and Chanyeol knew it was because of the amount of stress she was in. 

"Mina. Are you okay?" Chanyeol asked worriedly. 

But before Mina could even think or say anything, her legs was unable to support her anymore and she collapsed. However, luckily Chanyeol was able to react quickly by grabbing Mina before she could fall to the ground and possibly injure herself seriously. He was in shock of how weaken Mina was. When was the last time she ate? When was the last time she had enough sleep? When was the last time she rested? 

Mina was taken to the hospital, and now resting in a hospital room. Meanwhile, Chanyeol was sitting on a chair next to the bed and staring at her. He couldn't help but think about what caused Mina to become like this. It was all because of Baekhyun who did this to her.

Just then, a nurse and doctor walked into the room and was here to check up on her. Chanyeol immediately stood up because he was anxious to hear what caused Mina to become like this. 

"Are you... A family member of hers?" the Doctor asked. 

"No, I'm a friend. But I'm here in place of them," Chanyeol replied. 

"Hmmm alright. Well, she'll be fine, so don't worry," the Doctor said. "She was just very exhausted, and it looks like she hasn't rested for the past few days or eaten a proper meal. She also developed a small fever, but it should go away very soon," 

"Thank you," Chanyeol said as he bowed to the Doctor. 

"She will just need to rest for a few days along with a few medication, and she will be back to normal," the Doctor continued. "Do you know if there is a way that I can get in contact with her parents?" 

But instead of replying back to the doctor, Chanyeol remained silent as he thought about something. 

When the doctor and nurse left, Chanyeol remained in the room with Mina to watch over her just incase anything happens. As he was staring at her, he couldn't help but think about something. He was thinking about how Mina embarrassed herself infront of Baekhyun's fans, and it made him realize that she was still the kind person she was. She could have easily reveal to Baekhyun's fans things about Baekhyun in order to get even with him, but she chose not to. And this time, Chanyeol was the one thinking about the past. 

[Flashback to the Past]

They graduated high school and was now in their first year of college. Chanyeol walked into a cafe, and smiled widely when he saw the people he was meeting up with. He took a seat across from Mina and Baekhyun who were being lovey dovey. 

"When are you both going to act like grown ups?" Chanyeol asked. 

"What? Don't be jealous," Baekhyun said as he took a bite of the food Mina was feeding him. 

Chanyeol rolled his eyes because he was disgusted of how lovey dovey his bestfriend has become. What happened to the serious and stubborn Baekhyun back in high school? 

"What class did you come from?" Mina asked as she scooted her plate of sweets to Chanyeol and gave him a fork. 

"History, the worst subject in the world," Chanyeol said as he took a bite of the sweet. 

"What are you saying? History is the best subject in the world," Baekhyun said. 

"That's easy for you to say. It's like saying math is the best subject,"

"Hey, math is different okay?" Baekhyun argued back. 

"How so?!"

"Just stop it already," Mina said as she stuffed bread into Baekhyun and Chanyeol's mouth in order to stop them from talking any further. 

They both munched on the bread as they stared at Mina. 

"You two boys give me headaches," Mina said. 

Baekhyun and Chanyeol both smiled and laughed as they looked at each other. Annoying Mina was their talent. Just then, Baekhyun looked at his watch and realized that it was time for him to go.

"Oh shoot. I got to go. I'll see you later," Baekhyun said as he gave Mina a quick peck on the cheek.  

"Aigoo," Chanyeol said as he stared at the two lovey dovey couples while he was alone. 

"Al-alright. Call me," Mina quickly said as she stood up and watched her boyfriend walk away. 

Oddly enough, Chanyeol noticed something about Mina just now. Why did she seem a bit sad and disappointed when Baekhyun had to leave? Was this normal for her?

"What's with you?" Chanyeol asked as he took a bite of the sweets.

"What?" Mina asked in surprise as she looked at him. 

"Why do you look so sad? Aren't you use to it by now?" 

"To what?"

"You know, his busy schedule and constant auditions. You are the one who inspired him to become an actor, so this is something you should quickly accustom to," 

"I know," Mina said with a sad voice. "It's just- We haven't been able to spend time together as much as we used to. Sometimes I wish he can just drop whatever he's doing for a moment and focus on me,"

Chanyeol was silent as he stared at Mina and saw how sad she looked. 

"As much as I want the best for him, I wish he could just take some time to focus on me,"

Chanyeol continued to stay silent as he thought about something, as if he was coming up a plan. Suddenly, he grabbed his things and immediately stood up.

"Where are you going?" Mina asked.

"Remember back in high school when I made a plan to bring you and Baek back together after a misunderstanding? Well, I'm going to do the same," Chanyeol said with a smile. 

For the first time, Mina was thankful for Chanyeol. She recalled the past when Chanyeol set up the plan to have her and Baekhyun sit together at the movie theaters in order to have them become close again, in which they did. Now, she was relying on him again. 

"Since I'm going to do this, pay for my things! Later!" Chanyeol said as he stuffed one last bread into his mouth and walked away. 

"Hey!" Mina yelled because she realized that Chanyeol was trying to get away with paying the bills. 

However, a smile quickly upon her face. She was thankful for Chanyeol.
