Something Else
Pretending Not To LoveNo One’s POV:
Lee Joo Eun was roaming around the campus when she should be in the detention room, with the washroom pass as an excuse. She suddenly happened to go near the place where the principal was talking over the phone.
Just when she was about to escape from there, she happened to hear Sooyoon’s name being mentioned by the principal and it sounded like he has got himself into yet another trouble again.
It looked like the principal was done with his phone call and was about to walk her way. So she quickly turned around and was about to run up the stairs, when she saw Sooyoon walking down them.
She was kind of scared that Sooyoon might come across the principal and looking at principal’s mood, she knew it wouldn’t end well. So she grabbed hold of his wrist and dragged him down the stairs which just lead to the basement where the old, broken furniture were thrown.
She pushed him into the gap under the stairs before hiding herself. “Did you hear that?” Principal asked the person beside him while the other just shook his head.
“What are you doing?” Sooyoon asked Joo Eun but she shut him up by covering his mouth.
“Shhh, don’t talk.” She said as she waited for the principal to walk away.
The principal stood there for a few more seconds before he walked away. Joo Eun put down her hand and sighed heavily. “Would you tell me at least now?” Sooyoon raised his eyebrows.
“We were hiding from the principal.” She replied.
“I understand why you have to hide. But why did you make me hide with you?” he asked her, laughing a little.
“What trouble did you land yourself in, this time, Sooyoon-sshi?” she wondered.
“What?” Sooyoon was confused.
“Aish! Principal was looking for you and he was totally in a foul mood. So stay on your toes for a day or two when you are in his close proximities.” He nodded with a slight smile. “Oh, this was what I was thinking to ask,”
She snatched his phone from his hand while his eyes widened. “Unlock and give me please,” she smiled.
“Why?”
“Just do it, please,” she pleaded while he hesitatingly unlocked his phone and gave it back to her. She pressed a few buttons and returned the phone back to him. “I have fed my number,” she pointed to his phone. “Call me when you are free so that I can return your drumsticks.”
He nodded and pocketed his phone while she saved his number in hers. “Okay then, I got to get back to that jail. Been out for too long. See you later.” She stood up and started climbing the stairs while he came out and just stood there, watching her. “Oh, don’t forget to stay away from the princi for a while.” She smiled.
“Go straight to your detention room,” he called out.
“That’s where I’m heading now.” She stuck out her tongue at him before walking away.
Sooyoon’s POV:
After Joo Eun left, I still stood there staring at my phone. This girl was a lot different than most of the girls in this campus. From the way she behaves around me, I was not sure whether she knows who I am or not.
On the day of the audition, I had lost my drumsticks. When she said she has it with her, I thought she has taken it purposely, knowing who I was. But lately she’s been proving that my thoughts were wrong.
I started to wonder whether she really wanted to return the sticks or was just using the opportunity to get close to me. Then I met her in the principal’s office the other day.
It hasn’t been that long since the university started and this girl has already got herself into huge trouble. Initially James was in charge of her probation but after a week or two, the princi made Moon take over, since James had something else to take care of.
I didn’t come across her after that day in the principal’s room and you know what all had happened when I met her again a few minutes ago.
I looked at her contacts info that she saved in my phone and wondered whether I should keep it or just delete it. But something in me told me to just leave it like that. ‘That way you can recognize her number if she troubles you with calls or messages.’ My mind convinced me.
A week or two passed by, but she never disturbed me even once. No message, no call, nothing. This girl strangely intrigued me. I was on my way to the library when she just walked out of it.
“Shouldn’t you be in the d
