Misconceptions
Pretending Not To LoveJoo Eun’s POV:
After Sooyoon locked himself in his room, I continued to sit on the same spot as where he left me, wondering what had just happened. ‘I just got rejected in the name of moral and conscience, didn’t I?’ I let out a bitter laugh as the realization hit me.
I walked over to his room and knocked on his door, “Looks like you are okay on your own. I’m leaving now. Will see you tomorrow. But just call me give me a call if you aren't feeling alright.”
I waited for a response for a few seconds but only a very faint affirmative was heard from the other side, after which I left his house. When I came back to his place the next morning, he was still a little tired and had a slight fever.
But what I didn’t expect was he wouldn’t be able to make it to college the day after that. I was already in campus, waiting for him at the usual place but there was no sign of him.
“Aren’t you going to class?” I heard a voice and turned around to see Moon standing there.
Even though, he wasn’t teaching any subject for us this semester, he was still our class coordinator. So I cannot argue with him about standing there as he can then reduce points for misconduct. I have already let you all know about how strict our college is when it comes to things like that.
“I will come in a few minutes, Moon.” I glanced at my watch and asked for some extra time.
I tried calling Sooyoon again, but he didn’t answer. Though I was starting to get a little worried, I still had no choice but to slowly make my way to the class. I sat down on my seat and let out a sigh before pulling out my notes from my bag, when a few photos fell out along with a folded piece of paper.
I grabbed the photos and was taken aback at the sight of what it was. I quickly looked around the classroom but no one seemed to be paying any attention to me, except Jiwoong of course. But obviously these photos wouldn't be a work of him.
I opened the note and read what was written in it, ‘How dare you date Mr. Kim, huh? If you don’t want these photos to end up in other’s hands, then break up with him.’
Sooyoon and I were kissing in the photos and by the looks of it, it didn't look like it was taken anytime recently. ‘Is there any rules against students dating? Will this create any trouble if it spreads, something serious enough to break up with him?’ I was so lost in my own thoughts that I didn’t hear my professor call out to me.
“Lee Joo Eun! What are you daydreaming about?” he yelled, “And what is that in your hand?” he asked, making his way towards me while I quickly stuffed the photos in my bag and acted casual like it’s nothing but he was obviously not pleased with it.
He asked me some questions on the topic he was teaching about. Though I was able to answer some of them, he was still not satisfied. Meanwhile, he went back to his desk and wrote something in a slip which I assume is yet another detention.
“Leave my class for the day and hand this over to your class coordinator and get an approval letter from him if you ever want to attend my classes in the future.” He then handed over the slip while I grabbed my bag and walked out of the class.
Since it was the only class for the day, I was contemplating on whether I should go and see Moon that very moment or forget about everything else and just head straight to Sooyoon’s place. “Hey Joo Eun, were you waiting for me?” Jiwoong wrapped his arms around my shoulder.
“Yah! What are you doing here?”
“Nothing. Just got kicked out of the class.” He smiled brightly and simply shrugged his shoulders. “So, on your way to see your Moon now?” I glared at him. “Okay, okay, my mistake. Sorry. I meant our Moon.” He flashed a silly grin and started leading me towards Moon’s office.
I was little afraid of running into James since his and Moon’s room were just beside each other. The music departments have a few staff rooms and James and Moon, are together in one of them.
The staff lounge usually have a small reception like room in the front, then three or four private for the teaching staffs inside. And when we reached the staff room, I pulled him to an abrupt halt to stop him from opening the door but I was a tad bit late as he had already swung it open.
When we walked into the lounge, the first thing I looked for was whether James was in his room or not and the moment I noticed the door sign saying he was out, I
