Taking a Stroll
Pretending Not To LoveNo One’s POV:
Joo Eun and Jiwoong reached their camp pretty late in the night. They thanked the people for giving them a free ride to the camp before they made their way inside the main gate.
The security guard let them in after verifying their identity but soon they both came to a halt as there were 6 or 7 small cottages and they weren’t sure which one was allotted for them.
Joo Eun looked at the watch and let out a sigh before deciding to give Moon a call even if it’s going to disturb his sleep. “Hello?” Moon answered the phone just when the call was about to get disconnected.
“Moon, it’s me, Joo Eun.” She replied, feeling a little sorry for disturbing his sleep.
“Joo Eun? Where are you? How long will it take for you to get here?” he sounded wide awake now.
“Um, I’m already here. Just trying to find out which cottage I’m supposed to stay in.”
“The cottage number is,” he paused and it sounded like he was looking for something. “Just give me a minute! I will come out.”
A few seconds later, the porch light of one of the cottages and Moon walked out. He looked a little tired from being woken up from his sleep.
His face immediately changed into that of a worry as soon as he saw Joo Eun. “Are you really alright? Look at the state you are in.” he looked at her from head to toe. “Did you just wake up from a pyramid and got here straight away? You nearly look like an Egyptian mummy. Are you sure you can go on with this trip?”
Instead of answering his questions, Joo Eun could just laugh at his statement. He was kind of right that she looked like a mummy. Even she thought so when she looked at her herself in the mirror back at the station. “I’m really alright Moon.”
“If you say so. Anyway, come this way. You are going to stay in this cottage.” He said as he led them towards the one he just walked out of.
“We are staying here with you?” she asked as they made their way inside.
“Why? Not happy with it? Or too happy beyond words?” he asked with smirk, making her a little flustered and let out a chuckle at her reaction as he continued, “Everyone is staying with their allotted groups and 2 or 3 groups share a cottage. Since you both are in a group with me, you are staying here.”
Joo Eun slowly nodded her head, taking in his words while Jiwoong just remained silent as if he didn’t exist there. “Oh, you can take the room on the extreme left. Your bags have been dropped there already. And the room opposite to yours is where I am.” Moon informed Joo Eun.
Then he turned towards Jiwoong, “You can share the room adjacent to hers with student assistant, Jon. Sung Jun and Taehwan are staying in this room.” He pointed to the nearest room. “And kitchen is that way, if you need anything. Okay, then see you both tomorrow.”
After Moon went back to his room, Joo Eun looked at Jiwoong. “Thanks for today, Jiwoong-ah. I’m tired now. So see you tomorrow? Sleep well,” she smiled at him before making her way towards her room.
“Hold on a second!” he called out to her, “wait here for a moment.” He said as he ran off towards the kitchen and returned back a few minutes later with a small bottle of water. “Here take this to your room and don’t forget to take your tablets.”
“Thank you and good night,” she said as she let out a yawn before she finally went to her room.
She took the tablets as instructed, changed into a more comfortable clothes and flopped down on the bed, before grabbing her phone and checked them for any messages. She let out a sigh as there was none from the person she was expecting to see.
She turned off the lights and tried falling asleep but strangely she was wide awake even though she felt run down. She plugged in her earphones and started listening to some music.
The few blisters formed weren’t painful anymore and the last thing she could remember before her eyes finally shut was listening to Sooyoon’s voice from one of the voice messages he has sent her ages ago.
The next morning she woke up to the sound of someone knocking on her door. She lazily sat up and sighed as she still felt like she hasn’t slept for years together. She wobbled out of the bed and made her way to the door while putting very little effort to straighten her bed hair.
Her eyes widened as soon as she opened the door as the person who stood on the other side was none other her brother, James. He just observed her as he asked, “Um, did I disturb your sleep? Should I come back later?”
Joo Eun who was still a bit shocked at his presence, slowly shook her head. “No, no, it’s okay. You can come in.” she moved aside to let him in before closing the door in order to avoid other people seeing them together by any chance.
The cottages weren’t of the luxurious sort. So the rooms were minimally furnished leaving him no choice but to sit on the bed while she walked over to the other corner of the bed and sat down.
“How are you feeling now?”
“I’m alright now. It’s just a first degree burn. I have got some antibiotics prescribed by the doctor.” She said with a smile.
“I heard you couldn’t get a tetanus shot last night as they didn’t have it in the clinic.” She nodded her head. “I have got the tetanus medicine from the city. Could you get ready in like some time, so I can take you to the local clinic and you can get the shot?” he asked while she just stared at him in shock but agreed a moment later.
“Okay I will be in Moon’s
