No One’s POV:
James took Joo Eun to counseling sessions until the doctor said she need not come anymore. She took care of the potted plants with utmost care even though she didn’t really know who it was from.
But that only until she came across the cards in her bag that she received while she was in the hospital. Looking at both the cards from two different florists which said they were both from her parents, only made her more curious about it.
So one day, she decided to go and visit both the florist shops and inquire about the delivery they made to her. She first visited the florist that delivered the flower bouquet that she was allergic to and found out it was indeed her mother who has made the order.
She thanked the florist and walked out of the shop, feeling sad that her mother didn’t really know about her allergies. “If this from them, then who sent me those plotted plants?” she wondered at she looked at the cards from the other shop which also said it was from her mother.
“Excuse me, I received a few potted plants from your shop a few days ago. Is it possible for me to get the sender’s information?” she asked the person at the counter.
At first, the florist hesitated but eventually, she somehow ended up convincing him and when he gave him the contact details of the sender, she was shocked to see her brother, James number there.
“Is there anything else that he said?”
“Um, just to send some pots every day with a ‘get well soon’ card with it.” The florist replied while she thanked him with a smile and was about to leave the shop, when he called out to her again, “Forgot to mention that he gave us a list that the receiver was allergic to and asked us to strictly make sure of it before sending the plant.”
She thanked the shopkeeper once again and made her way home. As she walked in, she noticed James standing in the balcony and watering the plants.
“They are beautiful, aren’t they?” she asked, startling James for a moment, who then looked at her and awkwardly nodded. “And surprisingly, none of them are something I’m allergic to. Unlike the bouquet I received that day.”
She was trying her luck by pushing some buttons and making him confess. However, he remained quite unfazed and replied, while ignoring her later comment, “The pots looked a little dry, so I thought I would water them.”
She just stared at him for a moment before she asked, “Can I hug you?”
James was taken aback with her question but a second later, he nodded. “Um, yeah.” He said, awkwardly putting out his hand a little while she quickly walked up to him and hugged him.
“Thank you,” she whispered, still hugging him. Knowing that someone in her family actually cared for her, when all this time she had been thinking no one did, made her feel blessed.
At the same time, James knew that she wasn’t just thanking him for the hug. “Is everything alright?” he asked.
She wanted to say how she knew it was him who actually sent her the potted plants and had so many questions to ask him. But all she did was take a step back from him and said, “Yes.”
James just observed her for a moment, when they heard a very familiar voice, faintly call out Joo Eun’s name. She quickly turned around and peeked out of the balcony, only to see Sooyoon standing in his balcony, with his arms resting on the rail while looking up at her with his usual smile.
Her face instantly brightened at the sight of him, as she waved a little too enthusiastically while James just shook his head at his sister. “I still haven’t given my approval.” He told her, giving her head a pat and simply walked inside their house.
She took a glance at his disappearing back before turning back towards Sooyoon, “James is here.”
“I know.” he nodded his head. “Wanna come over? I’ve got you something.”
“Give me few minutes.” She smiled at him and rushed inside. Since she had just got back home not that long ago, she just had to dash over to the front and wear her shoes.
“Don’t stay for too long. Come back before midnight.” James called out to her while she just hummed a response before dashing out of their front door and making her way down to the next floor where Sooyoon stayed now.
She rang his doorbell and was welcomed with a hug. “Didn’t James say anything?” he asked her curiously as she removed her shoes and made her way in.
“Well, he asked me to return before midnight?” she said as she took a seat on the couch and looked around the house which still had some boxes to be unpacked.
“Is he your fairy-godmother? Are you Cinderella? And will the magic wear off by midnight?” he joked while she smacked his head. He let out a chuckle, “Sorry.”
“You still haven’t unpacked yet?”
“Got no time for that.”
She rolled her eyes, “So where’s this something that you got for me?”
“Impatient now, aren’t you?” he let out a chuckle as he walked over to his kitchen and returned back with a small box, two plates and forks in hand. He placed the box in the coffee table, before flopping down on the couch beside her.
He looked at her with a huge smile while she impatiently opened the box and her eyes widened in joy, looking at its content. “Aww, thank you. This is what I needed for the day.” She blew him a kiss before digging into the German style lemon cake he has got from her favorite shop.
She spent the next few hours there before she looked at the time and decided to get back home. As she wore her shoes and was about to head out, when he said, “Aren’t you supposed to leave one of your shoes or something, princess? How else would I find you?”
“Very funny,” she rolled her eyes and punched him, playfully. “See you later. Good night.”
The rest of her suspension days were mostly spent either with Sooyoon or Jiwoong. And when she got back to college after that, the news of her suspension has appa
