Chanyeol's eyes were shut tight with annoyance as Baekhyun warm spit water dripped down his face. Joonmyeon's eye widened beside the dripping male and immediately extracted the water off.

"Thanks..." Chanyeol mumbled to his friend before glaring at Baekhyun. "Why did you spit on me?!"

Baekhyun's eyes dared not to blink and his moouth was wide open from shock. "Y-You- W-Who said-"

"In other words," Luhan spoke up for Baekhyun, who couldn't seem to put a sentence together.  "Since when was Baekhyun yours?"

Jongdae and Minseok nodded their heads, eagerly wanting to know the answer. Kyungsoo watched the case unfold with Jongin attached to his arm, also speculating.

"What is this all about?" Jongdae pitched in. Everyone was staring at Chanyeol expectantly.

"Baekhyun ki-"

"C-Chanyeol!"

Luhan's head was the first to turn away from the table and notice the tall sophomore heading their way.

"Ah! Sehun-ah!" Luhan smiled at the boy but it only then crossed his mind that Sehun was calling for someone else.

Jongdae and Baekhyun turned their heads just when Sehun came to their end of the table with a tiny smile. It was unusual for him to come for anyone else other than Luhan.

"Did you just call for Chanyeol?" Luhan asked, trying to not seem too shocked.

Sehun nodded.

Meanwhile, Baekhyun and Chanyeol spoke with their eyes.

"Don't you dare say it, Chanyeol."

Chanyeol smirked. "Why not? It's not a secret."

Baekhyun's eyes widen and he shook his head "Yah! Are you trying to kill me with embarrassment and regret?!"

"Please, you were dying to k-" Chanyeol was cut off when Baekhyun turned away, noticing Jongin's friend approaching their table.

"Chanyeol.." Sehun speaks to the uninetersted male with a sheepish expression.

"Yea?"

Luhan's yes were tightly fixed on Sehun's face, wondering what his favorite person could be doing not in search for him.

"We're having a class project about nova compaibility and we have to choose a upperclassman to collaborate with. And don't worry, I'm not making you do this for nothing. You get class credit." Sehun explains. Chanyeol's face drops at the sound of that but Baekhyun's brightens.

"Sorry, Sehun, but I'm not really--"

"Chanyeol would love to help you on your project, Sehun!" Baekhyun exclaims, giving Chanyeol a wide knowing smile. Chanyeol raised an eyebrow and gave back a sarcastic smile.

"Actuall I'm a bit busy with my own homework-"

"Sehunnie! Why don't you and I do the project together?" Luhan suggests happily. His eyes were basically twinkling with stars at the thought of spending more time with Sehun.

Sehun spares his hyung a glance but still seemed to insist that he work with Chanyeol.

"But I want to work with Chanyeol hyung.." Sehun mutters and Baekhyun can see the frown on Sehun's face. Luhan's smile falters a little and Jongdae knew that the tall brat had hurt Luhan's feelings.

"Yah!" Jongdae calls out playfully. "What's so good about Chanyeol? I promise you he won't do any work. He's also probably the least interesting of us. Choose someone else..like Baekhyun!"

Baekhyun's eyes widen as he is suddenly nominated. Sehun looks at Baekhyun for a while, wondering if it would be a good idea.

Chanyeol frowned at the eye contact Baekhyun and Sehun were sharing. It was as if they were having their own conversation.The minute a hint of redness appeared on Baekhyu's cheeks, Chanyeol cleared his throat.

"I'll do it with you."

There's no way in hell I'm letting Sehun and Baekhyun stay together..only the two of them, Chanyeol thought.

Baekhyun, Jongdae and Luhan all turned their heads to him. Sehun smiled and bowed.

"Thank you, hyung! When should we meet up?" Sehun asks. The eagerness in his voice slightly irked Chanyeol. Half of him wished he had never agreed.

"Uh maybe later today? When are you free?" Chanyeol asked, going back to his food.

"After dinner? I can do then."

Chanyeol nodded. "Sure. After dinner. Come to my room..or do you want to go to your-"

"No!" Jongin called out. Everyone turned to him.

Kyungsoo's ears reddened.

"Sehunnie go to Chanyeol's room! Then Soo and I can have some time to ourselves~!" Jongin said happily, just thinking of the things they could do together.

Chanyeol shrugged. "My room it is then."

After dinner, Baekhyun decided that he should go for a walk.  He threw on a light jacket, zipping it up all the way, before slipping his phone into his pockets.

Just as he opened the door, he was greeted with the sight of Luhan leaning on the door across his room. Luhan seemed to not have noticed Baekhyun's presence and jut out his in the strange position he was in, hoping to hear what was going on inside. 

"Lu...han?" Baekhyun called out hesitantly but he older male didn't hear him. He decided to tap his shoulder.

"Luhan..Luha-"

"Oh my holy Sehun- It's you Baekhyun." Luhan held his chest as if he just had a heart attack. His cheeks were pink from embarrassment but he didn't seem too bothered that it was just Baekhyun who caught him in his act.

"What are you doing-"

"Shhhhhh!" Luhan shushed him, pressing a finger to his lips. "Be more quiet will you?! They'll hear you!"

It was only then that Baekhyun realized what Luhan was doing.

"Is Sehun inside?"

Luhan nodded, a small pout on his lips.

"I happened to see him on his way here and he had such a bright smile on his face. Sehunnie never looked that happy before."

Baekhyun felt a bit bad for Luhan, knowing that he had a huge crush on the sophomore.

There was a sound of laughter coming from inside the room and Luhan immediately pressed himself to the door. Baekhyun couldn't help but also be curious as to why they'd be laughing.

"That was Sehunnie.." Luhan says, trying to hear it a bit more clearly.

What's so funny that Chanyeol would make Sehun laugh? Baekhyun thought to himself. When he looked up, Luhan had a knowing smile on his face.

"You..you like Chanyeol don't you?"

Baekhyun's eyes widen and he stepped back, waving his hands back side to side and shaking his head.

"No! No! There's no way I-"

"Shhhhhhh!" Luhan hushed sharply with a hurried voice.

Baekhyun covered his mouth and lowered his voice to a whisper.  "I don't like Chanyeol."

Luhan rolled his eyes. "Oh please, I'm not a telepathic novaist for nothing."

Baekhyun felt his cheeks heat up.

"But I-I don't."

Luhan sighs, "Whatever you say." before going back to listening on the door.

I don't like Chanyeol..right?

Chanyeol bobbed his head to the music blaring softly from his head phones until he heard a knock on the door.

Stretching his arms over his head and ruffling his hair, Chanyeol walked to the door and let it swing open.

"Hey." Sehun greeted.

Chanyeol nodded. "Come in."

Sehun hesitantly made his way in, closing the door carefully after Chanyeol sat on his bed.

"I brought my assignment papers.."

"Cool."

Sehun took a deep breath as he sat on Chanyeol's bed. His heart was beating quickly and he hoped it wasn't too obvious how nervous he was.

"Okay. I'm just going to ask you a few questions. I'll write down your responses."

Chanyeol nodded but his expression seemed slightly bored.

"What is your nova?"

"Fire."

Sehun mentally slapped himself for even asking. He, along with literally every other student in school, knew what Chanyeol's nova was.

"Which category?"

"Elementals."

"Okay..." Sehun spoke as he wrote. "I'm a wind nova. I'm in the sub-natural category."

Chanyeol didn't say anything but Sehun knew he was listening. It was one of the many things that intrigued him about the junior. Ever since the middle of last year Sehun admired Chanyeol from afar. Of course, he had always been tempted to befriend Chanyeol but the fear of being ignored and rejected was too much. Considering that Sehun had grown so much just over the summer and puberty hit him like a truck, he gained a bit more confidence than he had in freshman year.

Sehun looked up at Chanyeol, still wondering why he agreed to be partners. Was it for the class credit?

"I would say, fire and wind are pretty compatible." Chanyeol says, reading over Sehun's assignments. Sehun hadn't even noticed, too deep in his own thoughts.

"Huh?"

Chanyeol's eyes met his and Sehun immediately looked down at his worksheet.

"Despite our different categories, our two novas work side by side. 'Give two reasons why your nova and your partner's nova can co-exist.' You could say, for example, fire needs oxygen to grow, which basically translates to wind feeds fire." Chanyeol explains. 

Sehun nods, "That's pretty good..wow, thanks."

Chanyeol scratches the back of his neck. "Actually, when I did this project last year, I chose Joonmyeon hyung as my partner and it was a total disaster. Water and fire repel. I got so fed up with his lame responses I just lit my paper on fire."

Sehun let out a huge burst of laughter and Chanyeol smiled.

"What?! Oh my god, that's crazy! What about your grade?"

"Well it was a bad report so I might as well have just not done it." Chanyeol shrugged. The atmosphere was a bit less awkward and serious.

"But aren't you on prohibition?" Sehun asked, tilting his head. He made sure to make note of Chanyeol's story.

"I am. But I can still light a match."

Sehun nodded, still chuckling at Chanyeol's stubborn behavior. It was interesting to see that Chanyeol also had side like this. Chanyeol was known to be a cold hearted fire prince. Always rejecting other female students, keeping to himself during classes, and just being his handsome self.

"Just wondering," Chanyeol started. Sehun looked up at him. "Why didn't you partner up with Luhan?"

Sehun blinked. "Luhan hyung?"

"Yeah. He seemed pretty eager to help you." Chanyeol says.

"I mean, he's nice but I don't think he'll be as interesting to interview. No offense to Luhan hyung or anything.." Sehun says hoping Chanyeol wouldn't question his motives any more.

Chanyeol nodded. "I guess..I am pretty interesting. But Luhan seems to like you alot. He's always really excited to see you."

Sehun bit his lip. "What about you and Baekhyun?

He said it.

The question he's been wanting to ask since the day he saw them hugging outside the dorms. Sehun knew the story. He knew the rumors. He knew that Chanyeol has had a hard time making skin contact with other people. He's seen it even with his friends. But why is Chanyeol so comfortable with Baekhyun? How and why can Chaneyol touch Baekhyun so easily?

Chanyeol's expression brightened ever so slightly just with the mention of Baekhyuns name. Sehun almost missed how the ends of Chanyeol's lip curved up a centimeter.

"Baekhyunnie?"

Sehun didn't know why he felt his heart drop at the tone of his voice.

"Y-Yeah. You two are pretty close, right?"

Chanyeol nodded with a tiny smirk to himself. "Well, yeah, I guess you could say that."

Sehun decided to delve a little deeper. It was probably his last chance to anyway.

"Do you like him?"

Chanyeol's cheeks turned pink and there was a smile on his lips as he looked down at the floor.

"He's cute. And fun to make fun of. His annoyed face or when he pouts are the most satisfying reactions! When he laughs though, he looks the best. Baekhyun..he's cute."

Sehun didn't know what he was expecting as an answer. He wasn't disappointed but he wasn't relieved either.

"So you do like him."

Chanyeol shrugged. "Doesn't really matter. I'll be by Baekhyun's side no matter what."

Sehun wanted the junior to notice him too. He wanted Chanyeol to think of him as a friend too. Maybe then will Chanyeol develop feelings for him. He just needed the opportunity.

"If I were Baekhyun...I think I'd like you, Chanyeol." Sehun says quiety.

Chanyeol looks at him with a smile.

"So as Sehun, you don't like me?"

Sehun's eyes widen and he immediately shook his head."No! That's not it! I-I do like you!"

Chanyeol laughed before nodding. "Alright, let's get back on track.What's the next question?"

Sehun hoped his cheeks weren't too red. He had just indirectly confessed to Chanyeol.

I like you. I like you a whole lot Chanyeol...One day I'll be able to say it to your face more proudly.

If only you'd look my way..
