"Chanyeol come look!" Baekhyun says, waving his hand for him to come over.

Chanyeol rolled his eyes. Like he's never seen a lake before..

Baekhyun leaned over the railing and stared at the scenery before him.

"How can the water be so blue?! Back at home, the water is almost green! Well-it depends where you g-ahh!!"

Chanyeol's eyes widened as he watched Baekhyun's body leaning forward as he lost his balance. His mind was telling him to run and catch Baekhyun but his body wouldn't listen to him. He wouldn't be able to save Baekhyun.

His legs moved to run closer, "Baek-!"

But someone had already done the task for him.

Baekhyun turned around to his savior with surprised eyes. Chan-

"Y-Yixing?" he says with shock as he older male puts his gently on the ground.

"I nearly had a heart attack, Baekhyun!"

Baekhyun couldn't help but feel his heart racing. It was thumping so heavily and his face felt hot.

"Sorry..I wanted to look at the lake."

Yixing looks at the junior and smiles, ruffling his hair. "It's okay. I'll always be here to catch you."

Baekhyun returns the smile. "Thanks, hyung. I really owe you one."

Chanyeol frowned as he watched the interaction between the two students before him. He felt a surge of disappointment and regret overcome him. He should have been the one to save Baekhyun. He should have ran over without hesitation.

But he didn't.

Chanyeol walked over to Baekhyun, hoping to seem as unaffected as possible.

"You're finally here?" Baekhyun says, clearly upset.

"What do you mean by finally?"

"I nearly died and you just got here. What kind of friend are you?" Baekhyun pouts.  Yixing looks at the shorter student before turning to the taller.

"Chanyeol." Yixing greets but the latter doesn't respond.

Baekhyun nudged him. "Your senior is talking to you. You should respond."

Chanyeol glares at Yixing but doesn't say anything.

"Yah!" Baekhyun calls out as Chanyeol huffs and walks away.

Yixing sighs. "It's okay. He's always like that."

"He shouldn't treat you like that. So disrespectful."

"He's never really liked me anyway. This is what I get for being his step-brother."

Baekhyun's eyes widened. "S-Step brother?! You..and Chanyeol?!"

Yixing nods. "Yep. Our parents got married a few years back so I guess that makes us brothers."

Baekhyun tries to process everything. "But why does he act like that?"

"He was against the marriage...I don't think this is my story to tell. You should ask him some time, Baekhyun."

Baekhyun nods. His view of Yixing and Chanyeol was slightly different now. How could these two people be brothers when they were completely different?

Step-brothers...technically they're not blood related.

"Yixing-ah!"

The two boys turns around the see Joomyun jogging over with an excited smile.

"Oh, Joonmyun." Yixing waves back before the senior stops in front of them.

"Baekhyun is here too." Joonmyun smiles at Baekhyun but not as brightly as he had to Yixing.

"This is my cue to leave." Baekhyun jokes and Joonmyun's cheeks turn pink. "I'll go now- Enjoy your time! And thanks, Yixing hyung!"

Baekhyun runs off hoping to find Chanyeol. There were so many things he wanted to ask.

Where are you Chanyeol?

"You should just talk to him." Tao says, watching his friend stare at his crush for another 5 minutes.

Jongin sighed, leaning on the railing. He enjoyed watching Kyungsoo from a far but anyone could tell that he wanted to be with him more.

"I-I can't.." Jongin says. They two of them were standing on one end of the long bridge while Kyungsoo stood in the center, resting his head in the palm of his hand.

Jongin couldn't help but feel attracted to how beautiful Kyungsoo looked when the wind blew through his hair. If only he could be enjoying the view with him rather than wishing. It was his own fault. He had broken their friendship. Of course he felt bad and anyone else would be just satisfied with being friends but something inside him wanted more. He wanted to date Kyungsoo and be able to hold his hand or kiss him whenever he wanted. But in this situation, those things were impossible. Because Kyunsoo wasn't gay.

Kyungsoo would never look at him the way Jongin did to him. The younger male had tried to get this into his own head the past two days. He tried to force himself to accept that he would never have a romantic relationship with Kyungsoo. He prepared himself for the heartbreak.

"Just tell him. Before you regret it."

Jongin feels sadder being so close yet so far from his favorite person.

"But what if I regret telling him? It won't make a difference."

Tao groans. "Jongin, it's been days! You have to stop being scared. Do you think Kyungsoo is going to start the conversation if you dont? Hell no."

Jongin can't help but agree. It had always been him putting more effort to get closer to Kyungsoo. All the senior did was push him away. It would be their last year together and at this rate, it would just be Kyungsoo's last year- not together.

"I know, I know."

Tao pats his back. "If you know then don't sit around here. Make a move."

Jongin looks at the lake before his eyes automatically drift to Kyungsoo up ahead. What if he was going to leave? He would just miss the perfect chance to talk to him.

"I'm going to go. Make the right choice, Jong." Tao says, giving him a 'fighting!' fist before walking away down the trail.

Jongin takes a keep breath and tries to calm his heart down. It was racing just at the thought of being so close to Kyungsoo. He missed him so much but he knew he had to stay away. Even during meal times, Jongin wanted nothing more than to teleport over and give Kyungsoo a hug. It seemed that their argument also made Kyungsoo upset too but Jongin didn't want to get his hopes up. He had to give Kyungsoo space. Give himself space.

He took hesitant and slow steps on the bridge until he stood about four feet away from Kyungsoo.

"H-Hyung." Jongin's voice as soft and nervous.

Kyungsoo stood up straighter at the sound of the familiar voice and turned to look at Jongin. Jongin, on the other hand, wasn't looking in his direction.

"Oh. Hey.." It was obvious that the two didn't know what to say to each other.

"I...I'm sorry." Jongin says.

Kyungsoo watches as Jongin looks down. He kept clenching his fists and Kyungsoo could tell it had taken a lot of courage for Jongin to come up and speak to him first.

"About..?"

"You know..coming onto you like that."

Kyungsoo didn't say anything so Jongin continued. "I was wrong for a lot of things. I was inconsiderate and I was stupid. I understand if you don't want to be friends with me. Or if you don't want me to sit next to you- or at all- during meal time..I like you a lot..a whole lot..but if you can't see me the same, I'll try to stop. I'll stop coming to you and I'll stop-..." Jongin felt hot tears run down his cheek. "I'll stop loving you the way I do now. And when I get over these feelings, I hope we can be friends."

Kyungsoo watched as Jongin sniffed and wiped his tears away with his sleeve.

"Jongin-"

"It's okay." He says with a gentle laugh, despite how upset he was inside. "I'm okay."

For the first time, Jongin looked at Kyungsoo face to face. His eyes were slightly pink and he had a runny nose.  "I'll be fine..I'll see you around."

With that, Jongin runs off and Kyungsoo is left to stand on the bridge on his own. Why did he feel worse than before?

"Yah! Park Chanyeol!" Baekhyun exclaims as he sees Chanyeol walking down a trail by himself. There were many students walking around but it wasn't difficult to spot the tall giant.

Chanyeol doesn't turn around but stops in place just when Baekhyun runs beside him. He was completely out of breath.

"Why'd you leave? I ran around three times looking for you."

Chanyeol continues walking and Baekhyun walks with him.

"Also- you and Yixing..you two are step brothers?" Baekhyun asks and Chanyeol looks down at him.

"He told you?"

Baekhyun nodded. "But why do you hate him so much?"

Chanyeol put his hand in his pocket. "I have my own reasons. And don't bother asking because I'm not going to tell you."

Baekhyun pouted. "Fine.."

Chanyeol tried to not sound too concerned or bothered. "S-So. Are you happy that Yixing came to your rescue?"

Baekhyun shrugged. "I was just surprised. I thought you would save me."

Chanyeol couldn't help but think how straight forward Baekhyun was being.

"Why would I do that?"

Baekhyun stuttered. "W-Well, you protected me last time, from the paralyzing nova."

Chanyeol raised his eyebrow. "Is that supposed to mean that I'll save you every time?"

The shorter male felt embarrassed for having such assumptions. "Aish-! Fine, dont! I don't need you to help me. If you didn't want to then just say so."

Baekhyun stomped as he walked faster and Chanyeol tried to hold back a smile.

"I didn't say I wouldn't." Chanyeol says, walking beside Baekhyun once more.

"But you didn't say you would."

Chanyeol liked how Baekhyun was so obvious with his emotions. If he was happy, you would see happiness growing out of his head but if he was angry, you could feel the steam coming out of his ears.

"What about you, huh? You said you owed Yixing for catching you. Are you going to be his slave too?"

Baekhyun scoffed and looked at Chanyeol. "As if! You're the only psycho person here who'd make that kind of deal."

Chanyeol open his mouth in shock. "What?! P-Psycho?! You're the one who was willing to to be my slave."

Baekhyun crossed his arms. "So you admit that you like me being your slave?"

"Wait what?! No!"

"So you think that the salve contract was pointless?"

Chanyeol groaned. "No I didn't say any of that! Just tell me! Are you going to be Yixing's slave?"

Baekhyun stared at the giant. "Is someone jealous that their brother is going to take away their most prized possession?"

Chanyeol scoffed at Baekhyun's accusation. "Jealous? Prized possession? Don't get ahead of yourself, Baekhyun. I threw you away a long time ago."

"Well you know what they say. One man's trash is another man's treasure." Baekhyun smirks with shrug.

"He can have you for all I care." Chanyeol huffs.

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yes."

Baekhyun felt disappointed but didn't say anything else about it.

"Why didn't you catch me?"

Chanyeol looked at him. "What?"

"I heard you call my name. I thought you would have caught me- because that's what friends do. They have each other's back."

Chanyeol sighed. "Don't expect so much from me. I told you- I don't like touching people."

Baekhyun frowned. "That's bull! You touched me so many times."

Two students passing by looking at them with wide eyes and Chanyeol looked at Baekhyun with wide eyes.

"Yah! Don't say it like that! People will misunderstand."

Baekhyun looks up at Chanyeol. "But you did. You hugged me during the scavenger hunt and you also hugged me that day- outside Jongdae's dorm.

..Why?"

Chanyeol looks around, trying to avoid the direct eye contact.

"Well, the first time I had no choice."

"And the second time?" Baekhyun pushed on further He wanted to know.

"Because I felt like it."
