Ticking Clock
(NOT A) PERFECT GIRLChangkyun dragged himself into the dorm, tired and desperate. Wonho and Hyungwon followed behind him with the same exhaustion. Hyungwon plopped himself on the couch, taking off his cap. Wonho was already in the kitchen, looking for something to shut his growling stomach up. They had searched anywhere possible, but no avail. They found nothing.
“Shownu hyung hasn’t reported anything, I think cops are as clueless as us,” Hyungwon sighed.
Changkyun bit his lower lip, thinking hard, “That noona, she disappears a lot. Is this her hobby? Playing hide and seek?”
“She’s kidnapped, I’m positive about it,” Wonho replied from kitchen. “But who did it?”
“Sasaeng fans?” Hyungwon raised his eyebrows.
“Perhaps,” Wonho shrugged.
“Hyungwon hyung,” Changkyun looked at the older one, “did she mention anything about having an enemy, or hater?”
Hyungwon shook his head, “no, not even once.”
Wonho walked out the kitchen with a redbean cake in his hand and patted Changkyun’s shoulder, “we better take a rest now, maknae. We have a fansigning event to attend tomorrow.”
“Can I just miss it?” Changkyun asked.
“Don’t cause more trouble, okay?” Hyungwon eyed him. “If you disappear a lot, people will start questioning.”
Changkyun run his fingers through his locks, breathing out. “You’re right.”
Wonho yawned, stretching his arms out, “I’ll take a shower and sleep, you better not sleep late.”
Hyungwon already dragged himself to bedroom, didn’t even bother to take a shower. Wonho walked to bathroom, leaving the maknae alone with his thoughts.
“Where are you, noona? Where should I go to find you?”
2.29 am, and you’re wide awake.
Tick tock.
The apartment was dead silent; all you could hear was the clock ticking.
Tick tock.
Time went by slowly, the night felt so long, and the silence was maddening.
You curled up on the bed, hugging yourself into fetal position. You could hear your own heartbeat, occasionally interrupted by your growling stomach. You had waited for signs of passerby all day, and there was none – the only sound of footsteps you could hear was yours, and it seemed like there was no one else on the same floor.
Faint sound of footsteps awakened you. Your eyes widened, anticipating. The footsteps were getting closer and stopped in front of the door. Your heartbeat quickened when the door opened, but you didn’t turn around. You knew who’s coming - you could recognize him from the scent of perfume he used.
“I’m sorry, the meeting took longer than expected, and I have to deal with the contractors,” Soohyuk put some plastic bags on the counter and loosened his tie, “I know you’re hungry, so I bought pizza.”
“So, you know I’m hungry,” you remarked sarcastically, “why didn’t you just ask delivery man to come here instead?”
“Don’t forget, babe, I bring the apartment key with me and you can’t open the front door when I’m away,” he replied casually.
Babe…? The word gave you instant nausea.
“I bought clothes for you – I didn’t know which one suits your taste so I bought some.”
“Why bother to buy clothes when you can take me home instead? It will definitely save your money, sir.”
“Because from now on, this apartment is your home,” he smiled and walked to the counter. He took a pizza box and brought it to you. You gulped, couldn’t resist the heavenly smell of food. Almost 2 days with excruciating hunger almost shut your body down.
You doubtfully took a slice of pizza. Well, you couldn’t think about escape plan if your brain could only transmit signals of hunger to your
