It was so sunny and bright that day, Namjoon felt like the world is mocking him.

He remembered it so well, he was working on a new math equation that his olympic mentor had given him when the news broke down to him—so sudden it was that he freezes as soon as the words get to his mind.

The sound of his phone dropping to the ground, the sound of his aunt’s wail, the cold hugs that he recieved from his relatives, the silent tears that streamed down his face—,

“Namjoon-ah, there was a car crash,” his aunt sobbed, “Your parents didn’t make it...,”

He still remembers it like it was yesterday.

Seokjin was his only friend.

It’s not like he was having trouble on doing social things or he was introverted (why would he got chosen as the class president then), but people just deemed that he was too high of level.

Kim Namjoon wasn’t as dashing as his cousin, but he was smart—a genius. Was even at the same level with Yoongi who was deemed as the prodigy that time in terms of music and his ability to lead and talk to people was flawless, people around him just marked him as someone who’s a little too much to make as a friend.

He wasn’t too bothered by it at first, but then his parents funeral comes and in the middle of the silent grave, he truly felt lonely.

Kim Seokjin was his closest cousin since he was little, due to their mothers was a pretty close sibling and they don’t live too far from each other. It was normal for him to visit the older boy from time to time, sometimes even spending the night at his house and vice versa. Probably because they’ve seen each other from god knows how long, Seokjin never really see him any different like how other people do. He never complained when Namjoon got a better score or won something, rather he praised him a lot.

“Don’t worry, Namjoon!” the only person that really comforted him that time was only Seokjin, who came up to him and engulfing the boy in a warm bear hug, tears spreading all over his black suit even though Namjoon himself already stopped crying hours ago, “You won’t be alone okay? Because you’re going with me now! I won’t leave you like everyone else!”

When he found out that Seokjin had cried and begged his parents to adopt him as soon as the news of his parents dying spreads, Namjoon knows that the only true person that is important in his life right now is Seokjin. The boy who never reluctant to be stupid around him, the boy who always had assured him that he’s doing the right thing, the boy who never left his side in anything—Seokjin was his savior angel.

Namjoon was beyond devastated when he found out the reason of Seokjin’s constant fatigue. He wasn’t ready for anyone to be pulled away from him again, he can’t have another person that he cared dying again. Seokjin had always assured him that he was okay, but with a stage one leukemia lodged inside of him, Namjoon can’t help to be worried

Chapter 35: This is one of the best fanfics I've ever read. It's rare to see a story that's focusing on friendship, slice of life and a hint of angst with no romance or even a hint of it. You are really a great author who made this fantastic story. I salute you.

Chapter 12: I was so confused about the chapter name... Orange gingers... Aren't all gingers orange, isn't that the whole point of them being gingers? And then right at the end, it all made sense.

Chapter 32: This is actually good! Aside for a few typo in the first few chapters, your writing is good. The plot flows nicely and it ended prettily. Great job!

I relieved that there's nothing happen to Seokjin until the epilogue and "Yeah! no one died!" but what is this, i cant believe this is happening. Two brother figure of his went away, ahhhh
