Chapter 19: Fresh Start and Back on Track
The Most Beautiful Moment in Y(our) LifeThe school was filled with rumors that day.
“Hey, did you heard? Namjoon ditched the gang!”
“That’s why they were so silent now,” a girl laughed, “Honestly they really have no strength when Namjoon’s not around. They’re just a bunch of goons,”
“You know I heard that Hoseok left the council too!”
“Whoa, is the basketball club back together again?”
“Maybe. I saw Taehyung sticking to Seokjin-sunbaenim too. And who’s that boy again?”
“Jeon Jungkook?” they asked, “I think he’s going to be in the club!”
“I head Suga-sunbaenim is going back to school!”
“After that incident? I hope he doesn’t get bullied... there’s a lot of cruel boys in the third grade,”
“Hey, hey, here they come!”
As if Yoongi wasn’t nervous enough the whole school just had to be talking about him. Because apparently Min Yoongi—the notorious cold-hearted Suga had tried to kill himself and the fact that he survived wasn’t inducing the student to stay silent about him. Now people are exposed to the desperate, pathetic side of him, he can’t imagine what they’ll do to him.
But a warm hand suddenly slipped into his and he could feel his worries falter a little. He then turned his eyes to the hand’s owner and he was greeted with an oh-so-familiar black-hair, smiling at him assuringly. When Taehyung also clings to his other arm, he suddenly felt like he wasn’t that weak anymore.
“Ready to go?” Seokjin appeared before him, smiling brighter than the sun. Yoongi nodded at him and started walking inside the building, with the students still staring at them.
“Hey guys!” Hoseok shouted from a distance and running towards them, “Hyung, you really went to school!”
“Well I shouldn’t be absent too long, right?” he shrugged, “Where are you from?”
“The council room,” he sighed, “still have something to take care. I’ve made a truce to my parents that I’ll still ace the council if I want to stay at the basketball club,”
“Ah, it’s good that your parents could understand more—wait, hyung, stay?!”
“Yes, Tae, stay!” the vice-president beamed as he said the words, the rest of the boys was visibly glowing in happiness, “We’re reviving the basketball club!”
They weren’t even done spazzing about their new and back club, a flock of silver-hair appeared before them, strangely in a hurry.
“Namjoon-hyung!” Jungkook shouted, making the rest of the student startled because of did Jeon Jungkook just called him like he had a death wish, “Come here!”
“Ah, Jungkook,” he took out one of his earphone plugs, “Hi, hyung, how are you feeling?”
“It’s a little nerve-wracking, but I can deal with it,” Yoongi answered with a shrug, earning a chuckle from the boy, “Why are you in a rush?”
“I was going to grab some ramyeon at the cafeteria before going to class,” he gestured the direction with his thumb, “You guys coming?”
“Ramyeon in the morning?” Taehyung threw a glance at the boy, “So this is what you’ve been doing, hyung? You’re gonna be bloated until the end of the day!”
“As if I care, Tae,” the younger just laughed as Namjoon ruffles his hair, “Its not like I do it everyday! I just happen to woke up a little too late to make breakfast,”
“Make breakfast?” Seokjin asked, “Is mom and dad not home?”
“They’re out for the week again,” the younger sighed, “They didn’t tell you?”
“No, but that’s usual for them. They don’t really tell us things anyway,”
“But, ramyeon seems a good idea, I’m pretty hungry too!” Hoseok beamed as he looked to his watch, “And there’s still more than an hour before the first class started!”
“Well what are we waiting for then? Let’s go!”
When Jungkook called Namjoon, the students was already staring and whispering at each other. And now when they see them being all friendly and close like they forgot the silver-haired boy was a delinquent before, it stirs up more gossip between the school’s resident, even the teachers are sending glances at them too.
As the six of them walked into the building together in a straight line, Namjoon realized that the students was gossiping about their bunch and quickly sent glares, making them cower down. Because apparently Namjoon’s mean demeanour and sense of authority haven’t worn off and he still looked like he was part of a gang, the pupils were still scared of him.
“Man, look at that, Namjoon is being so nice to them!”
“I thought that Jungkook boy had a death wish when he called him!”
“Is the basketball club reviving?!”
“Would Jimin allow this?”
“Ugh, I see your old bunch is getting clingy together,”
A boy was standing before the window as he glanced down at the scene, the six boys flocking together and chatting happily. The red-haired boy standing beside him wasn’t replying him, rather, he just stared at the view in his sight with sad, guilty eyes.
“Even Hoseok is there,” Seungcheol—the council’s secretary—frowned, “What are you going to do to this, Jimin?”
“There’s a lot of rumors of them reviving the club,” a boy who was currently on his phone in the sofa—Jeonghan the council’s treasurer said, “They’re going to be trouble for us,”
As the old basketball members started to gather back (plus Jungkook) the school’s forum has been in a ruckus, because apparently everyone heard what happened to the club (courtesy of Park Jimin and Jung Hoseok entering the council) and they were pretty shocked that the club decided to reconcile.
“I swear, it because t
