Chapter 48
· Wounded Hearts ·Chapter 48:
"Taehyung." His aunt exclaims nervously. She holds Dongwon from the shoulders, preventing the young child from running towards Taehyung. She is captivated in fear as to what might happen next.
The cops stand still and watch as Taehyung slowly walks towards them. Taehyung grips his backpack tightly as if it were support that will help him stop shaking from the fear that is within him.
"Sungmo." He calls out to his aunt. "Hello." He slightly bows to the authority keeping his eyes away from meeting the mens' cold stare. He fears that they will see right threw him.
"Taehyung." His aunt calls again. She coughs to clear her shaky voice. She doesn't want these men to take her nephew away. She cares too much about the young boy and had promised his dad before he died that she would always watch and care for Taehyung if anything were to ever happen to him. "These men are here to ask you some questions. It is very important."
"It won't take long." The cop interrupts. "We just need you to come with us to the department."
"Yeah." Taehyung answers. "I'm just really tired from school. I had an exam today and I feel exhausted."
"I understand, it's the middle of the week but you have to come with us young man." The cop answers.
"Yes." Taehyung looks over at Dongwon who is staring at him with fear in his eyes. "Is it okay if I change into some regular clothes. My uniform is super itchy and uncomfortable."
The cop turns and stares at the older cop. The older cop nods his head slightly. "Okay, you have about ten minutes."
"Thank you." Taehyung bows again and walks down the hallway to his room. He slams the door shut. He changes into some simple dark jeans with a Nirvana shirt and a jean like jacket. He walks over to his closet and grabs a small black bacpack. He hangs it over his shoulders. When he is done he sits back on his bed and starts to breathe heavily. He notices his breathing is shaky. "1..2...3...4...5..." He closes his eyes and images of the gruesome night appear before him.
He opens his eyes and looks at the window in his room. It's huge and it opens widely. A big old tree stand right infront of his bedroom. He loves on the second floor of the apartment complex. He takes a deep breathe and walks over to his window. He opens it widely. He had jumped out of his window countless times to meet up with his friends before but why is he so scared now?
He throws his backpack on the ground. It falls on the small cover of old snow. He quickly moves his legs across the window and jumps on the old tree. He closes his window with his free hand, once he is done he holds tightly to the old tree. Slowly he goes down until he reaches the ground. He lets go and grabs his black backpack. He turns back to look at his aunt's apartment. He notices the light in his living room . How long will it take them to notice he is long? "I'm sorry." He whispers before he dashes down the street.
It takes him about twenty minutes to arrive to his destination; his gangs old hangout. The last time they all hanged out was before Yoongi and Hoseok's mother had gotten married. It has been so long and it was abandoned for quite a while. He quickly unlocks the door and walks inside. The room is covered with graffti done by all his friends. He continues walking and looks at the graffiti he did with Jungmee. The butterfly that represented youth. The heart that represented love. And Jungmee's figure. He smiles and reaches in to plant a small kiss on Jungmee's figure.
He had fallen deeply in love with her. He was even more in love with her now, especially how she still treated him the same after he had told her his story. He was afraid he might never see her again after today. He wanted to see her before he left. He continued looking around the warehouse. He found a few empty beers scattered around. He found car magazines that belonged to Namjoon. He found a few cigarette packs that belonged to Seokjin. A few beers that belonged to Yoongi. He smiled as he remembered the times he would spend with the boys. Those were the happiest days of his life.
He spends an hour or two in the warehouse. He looks down at his phone that has been ringing for countless times. He watches as the screen turns on when his aunt calls and then turns off. They must be looking for him. He thinks to himself. He hates it. He grabs an old cigarette and lights it up. He presses against his lips and lets his lungs engulf the strong smell.
He walks out to the dark night and throws the cigarette to the ground. He grabs a screwdriver and looks at the graffiti infront of the warehouse. He hates the words written on the garage like door and begins to scratch it. He continues to scratch it until bright beaming light hits him. He turns around and watches as the cop walks over to him. The man stares at Taehyung with a face full of hatrd. Taehyung is filled with fear but tries ro disguise it as much as possible. He quickly lets the screwdriver fall to the groun and puts his hands up. The man slams Taehyung against the garage-like-door and Taehyung slightly smiles with his mouth open.
The man groans in annoyance. "You are one difficult kid. I was suppose to be off work by now but I got a call to be in a look out for a boy who ran away." The man looks through Taehyung's pockets in search for a weapon. The man quickly handcuffs Taehyung and walks over to his car. The talks into a walkie and says a type of secret code. He then gives his whereabouts. Sirens are heard all over the place. Taehyung flinches aggressively and the cop holds him tighter. He pushes him to the back of the car and locks the door once he sits down. The cop quickly runs to the driver's seat and once again speaks into the walkie. Taehyung sits back in the car and closes his eyes until he arrives to the destination.
Taehyung is pulled out the car by another cop once he arrives at the police department. "Son why did you run off?" It's the same young cop that was at his aunt's home. Taehyung shrugs slightly. "You're making it more complicated that what it should be."
They continue walking into the empty police department. They walk into a small dark room filled with paper work and boxes. There is a small table with a laptop. "You're going to be sitting here for a while." The cop releases Taehyung from the handcuffs. "If you need water there is water bottles." The man points to the corner of the room where there are about seven closed water bottles. "Don't try
