Chapter 24
· Wounded Hearts ·Chapter 24:
"This was fun." Minhee broke the silence between her and Jungkook as they walked in the cold January winter night. Jungkook's firm fingers were tangled with Minhee's small delicate fingers.
Back at the aquarium Jungkook and Minhee were sitting down watching a small talk show about the new exhibit. Suddenly Minhee's hand grazed over Jungkook's. She smiled apologetically at him and moved it away. After a couple of minutes Jungkook decided to make his next move which resulted him holding her hand. Minhee's eyes widened when she felt his strong grip. She turned to him and he just continued watching the show quietly. She smiled and scooted closer to him. They continued walking in the cold night in silence until they reached her home. Minhee pressed on the small button.
"Who is it?" Hoseok chuckled through the other end.
"Seriously? Its me" Minhee answered in annoyance.
In the background you could hear a couple of boys chuckling.
"Me who?" Hoseok giggled.
"You can see me!" Minhee exclaimed.
"Hmmmm" Hoseok hummed "Not until you say the pass code."
"They don't want to let you in?" Jungkook titled his head to the side.
"Nope." Minhee exhaled. "It was fun! Thank you for such a fun day!"
Jungkook grinned. "Yeah you're welcome."
He took a few steps closer to Minhee. He leaned in and planted a soft kiss on her right cheek.
Minhee's eyes widened in astonishment. When did Jungkook become so brave?
Suddenly someone coughed.
"The gate is unlocked!" Hoseok's voiced roared through the speaker.
"Now he unlocks it." Minhee whispered.
Jungkook chuckled. "I guess I will see you at school?"
"Yeah!" Minhee nodded.
"Okay sweet." Jungkook let go of her hand and slowly started to walk away. "Good night Minhee!"
"Goodnight Jungkook!" Hoseok and the rest of the boys exclaim through the speaker.
Minhee rolled her eyes but then smiled "Good night Jungkook."
She turned to the gate and opened it. She walks down the pavement and reached the front door of the house. She fumbled inside her purse until she finds the keys but Hoseok unlocks the door before she can insert the key.
"You are too young for a boyfriend!" Hoseok said.
"Nice way of welcoming me home huh?" Minhee walks over to the living only to find Suga laying on the couch with a neck pillow, Namjoon hollering at the screen and Jin playing a game on his phone.
Minhee takes a seat next to Jin.
"Are you ignoring me?" Hoseok asked
"No. What did you say?" Minhee looks at Hoseok.
"Is Jungkook your boyfriend?" Hoseok asked once more.
"No." Minhee answered.
"Then why did he kiss you and held your hand?" Hoseok asked
"I don't know. Because friends do that!" Minhee chuckled.
"If friends kiss cheeks and hold hands then Jin and Jungmee must be really close friends!" Namjoon uttered out.
"What?" Yoongi sat up from his seat.
Jin blushed slightly and nudged Namjoon to be quiet. Hoseok's eyes widen and Minhee chuckled.
"I think that is enough for today!" Seokjin chuckled nervously "Namjoon lets go. Its getting dark already!"
Namjoon rolled his eyes "But its barely eight!"
"Namjoon!" Seokjin snarled.
"Fine." Namjoon whined "I guess I we will see you guys later!"
"I guess so." Yoongi uttered.
"Bye Hoseok, bye Yoongi, bye Minhee." Seokjin yelled as he walked out and reached the front door.
"Dude take care of my video game!" Namjoon pleaded as he took a seat next to Yoongi "Please don't leave it around and laying then it breaks like my last game okay?"
Namjoon continued giving Yoongi instructions. Hoseok sat back and watched tv. Minhee sat back and continued devouring the chips the boys left on the coffee table.
Seokjin closed the door behind him. He took a deep breathe letting the winter air fill up his lungs. His gaze was stuck on the night sky. It was January. Still cold. Two more months left until spring arrived. Winter brought him pain. He was afraid of life. He was afraid of loosing his friends, his mother and Jungmee. Why did he develop such feelings for her? He didn't know.
He sat back on the stairs of the front porch and fiddled with his fingers. Jungmee came back into his mind. What is she doing now? Is she with someone else? Is she walking home? Is she in the bus? Is she at the bus waiting for the next bus to pass by? What if a group of boys captured her? All these thoughts crossed his mind. And he suddenly became anxious.
Seokjin was to busy wrapped in his own thoughts and didn't notice Jungmee unlocking the door to the gate. She closed it behind her and proceeded walking down the stones pavement until she reached Seokjin.
Once she recognized his figure she stood in front of him and just watched him.
"Seokjin." She whispered slightly.
He looked up. And stood up from the stairs. "Jungmee."
She took a few steps closer to him. She analyzed his face carefully. Her fingers trailed his face and carefully ran them down the bruise on his right cheek.
"How are you?" She asked concerned.
"Feeling better." His lips formed a crescent smile.
"That's good." She smiled back at him. "I want to know you better."
"What do you mean?" Seokjin
"I want to know your past. Your childhood, your tween life, high school and college. I want to know your hobbies, interests, and dreams. Is that a lot to ask for?" She looked at him with concern.
"No not at all but why?" Seokjin asked.
"If we want a relationship to
