Hyunae lives in a time of war and destruction, a time in which fear and hatred consume both sides of the fight.  From the moment she turned ten years old, she was into a life of having to train day after day with the other Elemental children, learning how to fight and use their powers.  They all have one goal set into her heart: to make the Resistance pay for what they've done to her people.  Hyunae's individual purpose in the military force became clearer after her parents are killed in an attack soon after she began training and from then on she worked harder to live up to the legacy her parents left behind.  It was easy to pick a side and it was even easier to follow the orders from her Captain for a cause she knew was completely justified.  However, everything she knows is true might be proven srong from the recluse that lives down the hall.

thoughts PLOT: Ice-user and one of the strongest Elementals, Lieutenant Hyunae's objective is to work her way up the ranks into her promised position guarding the Commander, but a scrap with Do Kyungsoo when he insults her parents has Captain Byun holding back on the promotion and more or less assigning her to anger management strategies. In the meantime, the Resistance is causing ever greater problems, a stranger who closets himself away has moved in down the hallway, notorious Agent MIN (from the enemy side) is making a move, and Hyunae is seething because she wants to be recognised for her capabilities.

This was entered into the Exodus category for my Tender Rose writing contest and it managed to fulfil the theme requirements brilliantly. Hyunae's life as she knows it turns out to be completely different to what she expects and she has to adapt to that very quickly, but in doing so, she and everybody around her is abl
