Then and Now

Jaejoong glanced at their friends outside the kitchen. They appear to be having a very serious, contemplative discussion which is very unlike the band of dorks they are. Besides, why would they even be this serious on Yunho’s birthday party?

Jaejoong took off his apron and walked to the living room. “hey guys, food’s done.” No response. Jaejoong crossed his arms. “Okay people, this seriousness is uncharacteristic. Out with it, what’s going on?”

“Yunho…..” Jaejoong doesn’t know which one of the gang said it, but Jaejoong turned around. His husband was sitting cross-legged on the floor near their lounge window and playing with their son.

“what of Yunho?” Jaejoong asked them. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on Yunho.

Yoochun spoke first, “remember when Yunho used to be a clubbing maniac? He never missed a night without clubbing.” Jaejoong rolled his eyes.

Donghae was next, “Yunho never could think beyond dancing. He was a dancing king.” Jaejoong wanted to remind them they were all dancing 20 minutes to go on Yunho’s lead.

Heechul followed, “he threw the awesomest parties ever. It was so much fun.”

Kangin continued, “he would drag us to try out random exotic food at any time of the day.”

Junsu shared his bit, “remember when he talked about Jaejoong like a lovesick puppy 24/7?”

“Oh God!” Jaejoong groaned. “Junsu, you're talking as if I’m not here.” He then looked at the others one by one. “Kangin, Yun doesn’t go out to fancy restaurants because he asks me to make whatever exotic food he hears about. And Heechul, this is Yunho’s birthday party thrown by him. You guys didn’t even help me when I suggested a surprise party.
