Krystal drove back to her parents' home after leaving Amber's apartment, feeling quite anguished about their fight. Krystal had seen couples break up over life-altering decisions like this when both sides weren't in agreement. Knowing how badly Amber wanted them to move in together, Krystal was at a loss about what to do since she just wasn't ready for this type of commitment right now.

The young girl parked in the driveway, shut off the car, and then rested her head on the steering wheel in defeat. The devastated look in Amber's eyes earlier when Krystal refused to move in still weighed heavily on her mind. Krystal hated seeing Amber hurt like that, but agreeing to move in simply to make Amber happy wasn't the answer. What Krystal needed now was advice from someone who had relationship experience.

Krystal immediately thought of asking her mom for advice, but her parents didn't know that she was dating Amber. That was a whole different problem on its own and Krystal didn't want to open that can of worms just yet. She tried to think of any friends who were in a serious relationship, and Krystal's fingers began dialing before she even realized what she was doing.

"Hello?" a familiar voice on the other end of the line answered.

"Sulli," Krystal breathed into the phone. The former f(x) member had been in a long term relationship with Choiza for several years now, making Sulli more than qualified to talk about moving in with a significant other. Even though the two self-proclaimed soul mates had been out of touch since Sulli left f(x), Krystal felt that Sulli would still be able to understand her feelings better than anyone.

"It's been a while," Sulli noted cheerfully. "How are you, chingu?"

"I... I'm good," Krystal replied somewhat untruthfully. The two girls exchanged pleasantries for a bit before Krystal tried to ease into the topic at hand.

Sulli was actually still unaware that Krystal and Amber were dating because she was largely absent from their lives since the "Red Light" promotions ended last summer. It hadn't been Amber and Krystal's intention to hide their relationship from the former f(x) member, and Krystal felt that now was as good a time as any to let Sulli in on the secret.

"So Sulli-ah, I actually called you for some dating advice..." Krystal said slowly.

"Really?!" came Sulli's excited response. "You're dating someone?? Who is it, who is it?"

"It's... It's Amber," Krystal revealed. Somehow, after confessing this truth twice already and after being found out repeatedly, admitting the truth to Sulli now was a bit easier than it had been in the past. Or perhaps the ease came from the fact that Krystal was talking to her same-aged friend who had trained and promoted with her for over a decade.

"Did you say 'Amber'?" Sulli asked in surprise. "Our Amber-unnie, as in hyung?"

"Yeah," Krystal confirmed. "Our very own Amber Josephine Liu." Much to Krystal's surprise, her words were met by a loud burst of laugher from Sulli.

"You can't be dating Amber-unnie!" Sulli exclaimed in amusement. "Two girls can't date. It'd be impossible for them to get married!"

Sulli's reaction stunned Krystal into silence. She had been expecting her friend to be confused or to ask at least a few more questions before the news sank in, but never had Krystal expected Sulli to outright dismiss their relationship in this manner.

"You probably misunderstood hyung's feelings," Sulli told Krystal without a hint of discomfort. Her amusement, while not intentionally cruel, was evident as she spoke. "Or maybe you guys are just joking around with each other? In any case, you'd better find yourself a good boyfriend, Soojung-ah. Do it soon before all the good ones are taken!"

Krystal bit her lip and tried to hold back her frustration at Sulli's comments. In some ways, Sulli's nonchalant attitude was worse than Wongyun's initial disgust towards her relationship with Amber. At least Wongyun had acknowledged Kryber's existence even though he didn't agree with it. Sulli was dismissing the existence of their same relationship from the start.

"Haven't you ever felt that Amber treats me a little differently than she treats everyone else?" Krystal asked, hoping that Sulli would acknowledge at least this much.

"Soojung-ah, hyung treats everyone nicely! I hope you're not basing your 'relationship' theory off of just that!" Sulli laughed.

The tears that Krystal had tried to hold back since leaving Amber's apartment finally spilled out as tears of frustration. Why didn't Sulli understand her feelings and why couldn't she make herself understood? Krystal knew that what she had with Amber was special and real. Even though they were fighting now, she and Amber were undeniably in a relationship.

Krystal heard her phone beep and she pulled it away from her ear to check the source of the notification. Amber's name flashed across her screen as an in coming call, like a confirmation that their relationship was in fact real. Keeping her voice steady through her tears, Krystal cut her call with Sulli short.

"I'm getting a call that I need to pick up. We'll talk again soon."

"Sounds good," Sulli replied cheerfully. "It was good to hear from you, Soojungie. Goodnight!"

The frustrating call with Sulli came to an end, but Krystal stared down at her still-ringing phone, wondering if she felt like talking to Amber right now. She thought talking to Sulli would make her feel better about her fight with Amber, but she hadn't expected that Sulli would actually make her feel worse.

Feeling too sad and disappointed to talk to anyone right now, Krystal let Amber's call go unanswered until the ringing stopped. The young girl set her head back on the steering wheel and tried to gather her thoughts. Too much had happened in a short amount of time and she was feeling quite overwhelmed. Krystal's phone buzzed again moments later and she eyed the notification wearily. It was Amber texting her after the failed phone call.

[Amber]: I'm sorry if I came on too strong tonight. Please don't be upset. I love you and I just want you to be happy. Sleep well, princess-nim. :]

It was such a simple message, but Amber's words had a profound healing effect on Krystal's anguished heart. She quickly called her girlfriend back with a calmer mindset.

"Soojung!" Amber exclaimed, relieved that Krystal had contacted her. "Are you OK--"

"I'm so sorry," the younger girl quickly blurted out. "I shouldn't have left the way I did. I was just scared and frustrated and I gave up on us too quickly," she admitted, recognizing get own cowardice.

"Hey hey," Amber soothingly murmured into the phone to calm Krystal down. "You didn't give up on anything. You called me right back and everything's OK now."

"Is it OK?" Krystal wondered. "We still want different things, don't we?" Amber hesitated before answering and Krystal knew that things between them weren't fixed yet.

"I don't want us to break up over this," Krystal said bluntly, not waiting for Amber to respond to her last question. She heard the older girl laugh kindly at her statement and it made Krystal feel better.

"I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way," Amber gently joked.

"But still... What do we do now?" Krystal wondered sadly. She knew that Amber would never forced her into a situation that she wasn't ready for, but that only meant that Amber would have to continue to settle for less than she wanted. From Krystal's perspective, there was no real compromise when one person wanted to move in while the other person didn't.

"How about we get some rest tonight and we'll discuss it again tomorrow?" Amber suggested gently. "Where are you now? Are you at home?"

"Yeah, I got home."

"Good," Amber replied. "Go to sleep and forget all about this fight, OK? I know I was being greedy tonight and I know that things can't change in an instant just because I want them to. I'm sorry that I upset you."
