I blinked my eyes quite a few times and we parted abruptly, breaking the kiss we had earlier. Of course I wouldn’t deny I was glad that happened, but the look on Taeyeon’s face… That I didn’t like. She then ran as fast as she could inside her house while I was stuck there in a trance. I smiled a little as I touched my lips.

I glanced at her house again, “That was hell of a lunch date Taeyeon-sshi…”

I went inside the car and I couldn’t help but to think about that kiss and the look on her face. She was shocked. Of course I didn’t do that on purpose, but do I have the right to be happy? I shook my head. I’m being stupid again…

As soon as I got home, Sunny greeted me. It was better than my dad greeting me with his ever stoic face. Of course I told her what happened and she threw a party for me. We drank lots of alcoholic drinks, only to regret it by morning.

I tried to walk straight in the hallway. The hangover I have was the worst one I had in a long time; I couldn’t put up a decent smile because the pain in my head is killing me, so I just hung my head low along the way. When I arrived at the classroom, I know they were talking about something, but I couldn’t grasp what they were saying and moreover, I was a little bit tipsy, so I decided to rest a little by the doorframe and then magically, the talking stopped. I tried to recognize everybody’s faces, but they all look like some sort of a blur to me.

'Okay Tiffany, get your together, class is about to start.' That is what I thought to myself. So I tried to regain my composure and walked slowly. They cannot know what I just put up myself into. As soon as I arrived at my seat, I tried to regain balance and looked at my surroundings one more time. The only one thing that didn’t appear as a complete blur to me was, Kim Taeyeon. I smiled to myself. Some girl.

During class hours, I couldn’t help but think about the lunch date we had and how bad it ended. I completely regretted what happened at that time and I wanted to patch things up with Taeyeon, so I tried to plan another date with her. I don’t want to end up having a bad impression on her, making her avoid me. So I thought I should give it a shot.

So when lunch break came, I grabbed the opportunity. Good thing I have so many food packed inside my bag. So before she tried to step into the canteen, I held her wrist, stopping her from getting inside, “Can I talk to you for a sec?” she looked at me confusingly, “Privately?”

She nodded, “But, can I just buy some snacks first? I’m r---“

“I already bought you one. Please.” I let her arm go and led her at the back of the school. A place that’s completely deserted. I handed her the sandwich and saw her take a big bite out of it.

I couldn’t help but be surprised at the sudden action, “Wow… So you really weren’t kidding about being hungry…”

She hung her head low. Oh no, wrong move you idiot! Say something!

“It’s okay, I’m like that too, well, sometimes… But the thing is, Taeyeon-sshi…” Nice back up Hwang!

“Hmmm?” She looked at me with those curious, beautiful eyes. Okay, stop distracting yourself Tiffany! Get it all together! I pressed my lips. She is being too adorable and I wanted to pinch those cheeks! But that is not what I came here for. Gah! Somebody help me!

“T-Taeyeon-sshi…”

“Yeah?”  Should I say it? Should I not? WHAT THE HELL?!

“Well, spit it out, the lunch break is almost over…” Okay. This is one shot Tiffany! One shot! SAY IT!

“Can you please go out on a date with me again?”

She widened her eyes at me, “What!?” Not a good sign.

“Look, I understand you don’t want to… But just to make up for the last time? Please?”

“No… I can’t… I just…” MAYDAY! MAYDAY!

“You just what?” She just what!? OH MY GOD!? WHAT!? SHE IS WHAT!?

She looked at me and then she glanced at the sandwich on her hand and then pulled my hand, putting the sandwich on it

“Thank you, but no…”MISSION. FAILED.

“But Taeyeon-sshi!” I tried to scream. She looked like she ran for her life. I punched the wall behind me. I just did not let that chance get away. I groaned in frustration. I should’ve known this wouldn’t be easy.

***

Classes went back again. Time for Plan B!

I used the mirror to reflect the light on her face just to get her freakin’ attention. She looked at me irritatingly.

Time for Plan C!

I sent papers at her place. It went back to me in a form of a big ball and it hit my head. I searched the person who did that, only to know it was Taeyeon. She looked pissed

And then many more failed. (I DID THIS WHENEVER THE PROFESSOR WASN’T LOOKING.  JUST SO YOU KNOW…) I ruffled my hair in frustration. Why is luck not on my side? Oh my god. And then I gave up. I watched the clock turn the time slowly. I wanted to go home when a familiar professor came in.

My favourite professor. Seems like I still have some luck on my side.

He ordered us to go to our respective partners and I couldn’t help but smile widely. Taeyeon looked away as soon as she saw me. Oh don’t worry Taeyeon-sshi, I have a plan perfect enough for you. I was expecting group work but it seems like he chose not to do it again today. I couldn’t help but stare at Taeyeon. She is such a diligent student.

“So, I’ll be leaving you for now, and I expect great results! Good luck to you all!” Everybody went away already, but of course never forgetting to spare a glance at the both of us.

I tried to get near to her, “I swear to god I’ll punch you in the face if you went closer to me…”

I looked down at the table and let out a heavy sigh, “Just this one time?”

“No Tiffany-sshi, not gonna happen…” WHY ARE YOU NOT GIVING ME A CHANCE!?!

“Why is that?” She exhaled loudly, “Because I’m an awkward turtle and we’re both women…”

“Seriously? Is that it?” Taeyeon nodded. That shot me right through the heart.

“Wow… You kind of… Offended me by the last part…”

She creased her forehead and looked at me. I could only look at her sadly. Why must that be said? I know I shouldn’t be hurt. But when it just comes from her, I can’t help but feel like it…

“Tiffany-sshi… I didn’t mean to… It’s just that… I’m not really good with people… You don’t deserve me…”

“You don’t tell me what I deserve…” I tried to control my tears and I just watched her walk away from me slowly. Again. She stopped her tracks and looked at me

“Even if you try tomorrow, it would always be a no, Tiffany-sshi…”
